It turned out that the tragic fate of the Uchiha clan had been sealed since the era of the Second Hokage.
Sasuke looked at Obito, his Sharingan gleaming with cold malice. "Why did you come here and tell me all of this?"
Obito sneered. "You and I are both Uchiha. The Senju have been entangled with us for generations. Now, Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, is the last remaining Senju in Konoha. Tell me, who do you think should put an end to that legacy?"
Sasuke's gaze darkened. He mulled over Obito's words for a brief moment before a twisted smile spread across his face. "Taking the Hokage's head at the Five Kage Summit… That does sound interesting."
His eyes flicked toward Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo.
"Team Taka is changing plans. Our new destination is the Land of Iron. We're going to take the Hokage's head!"
Obito nodded in approval. "Good."
Karin frowned. "Sasuke, that's the Hokage we're talking about. The four of us alone—"
Sasuke scoffed. "It doesn't matter. There's something I want to test. After all, I haven't fought someone at the Hokage level yet."
Suigetsu crossed his arms. "Sounds great and all, but we don't even know where the Hokage is."
A rustling sound came from below.
From the ground beneath Obito's feet, a figure emerged, rising like an unnatural growth from the earth itself.
A humanoid figure, split down the middle—one side black as night, the other a pale, ghostly white.
Suigetsu's lip curled in disgust as he reached for his sword. "What the hell is that? Looks like some kind of overgrown aloe vera."
Obito dismissed his reaction with a wave of his hand. "Relax. This is my ally, Zetsu."
Black Zetsu spoke in a deep, raspy voice. "The Five Kage are currently gathering in the Land of Iron. My clone will guide you."
As he spoke, his white half extended its hand, pressing against a nearby tree.
The pale flesh split apart, and from within, another identical figure stepped out.
Karin grimaced at the sight, visibly disturbed.
The newly formed White Zetsu gave a lazy grin. "Alright, everyone, follow me."
Sasuke gave a cold snort. "Team Taka, let's go."
With that, the group moved out.
As they leaped through the trees, Jugo caught up to Sasuke. "Are you sure we can trust them?"
Sasuke didn't slow down, his gaze locked ahead. "We'll observe first. If anything seems off… I'll burn them with Amaterasu."
Watching them disappear into the distance, Obito exhaled slowly. "Finally, I've steered him onto the right path."
Black Zetsu murmured, "Seeing Sasuke like this… things are going rather smoothly."
Obito, however, wasn't fully satisfied.
His expression darkened. "I never expected Uzumaki Naruto to obtain the Rinnegan from Nagato."
Black Zetsu narrowed his eyes. "Do you believe Nagato betrayed the Akatsuki?"
Obito's mind raced as he considered the implications. "Naruto severed Danzo's right arm and took his right eye. That eye was Uchiha Shisui's—capable of the strongest Genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami. I suspect Nagato's change in behavior is related to that technique… but—"
Black Zetsu pressed him. "But what?"
Obito's voice was low, tense. "But Naruto didn't transplant Shisui's eye. From the moment I saw him, his eyes were normal—no sign of the Rinnegan."
His fingers curled into a fist.
"Yet now, he has successfully transplanted the Rinnegan, and Nagato and Konan still remain loyal to him. That means Nagato's heart truly acknowledges Naruto. Even if Kotoamatsukami was undone, he still supports him."
A sharp glint flickered in his eye. "And there's someone else beside Naruto who did transplant Shisui's eye. Someone who hasn't revealed himself yet."
Black Zetsu's voice was filled with surprise. "How is that possible?"
Obito narrowed his gaze. "This is bad for us. Sasuke has potential, but if he spirals out of control like Nagato… it will be a disaster."
A cold rage simmered beneath his mask.
"And it's all because of Uzumaki Naruto!"
Black Zetsu observed him carefully. "What do you intend to do? Are you going to act?"
Obito let out a slow breath, shaking his head. "Not yet. Naruto's current strength is unknown. Furthermore, without the Rinnegan, my connection to the Gedo Statue is weakened."
His voice was laced with frustration. "For now, we wait and observe."

Elsewhere—A Hidden Cliffside
The setting sun painted the horizon in hues of crimson and gold.
Standing at the edge of a sheer cliff, Danzo Shimura leaned on his cane, gazing at the sky.
Behind him, the sound of something slithering through the underbrush broke the silence.
Danzo's lips curled into a sneer. "I recognize that sound all too well… The slither of a snake."
From the shadows, a figure emerged.
Kabuto Yakushi.
He smirked as he looked Danzo up and down. "I must admit, Danzo-sama, I never expected that after sending men to hunt me down, you'd now want to discuss cooperation."
Danzo scoffed. **"Times change. Before, I sought you out because I knew you possessed Orochimaru's research on human experiments. I wanted that data.
Now, I come to you as an ally."**
Kabuto licked his lips, pushing up his glasses. "How straightforward. You truly were a fitting partner for Orochimaru-sama."
Danzo narrowed his eyes. "So you know about that."
Kabuto simply smiled.
The way he looked at Danzo was… amused.
Because in Danzo's expression, in his desire for power—he saw a reflection of his own past self.
Turning his gaze to the setting sun, Kabuto asked casually, "Tell me, then. What is it that you want?"
Danzo's single eye glowed with ambition. **"I want to become stronger. Orochimaru's human experiments yielded incredible results. I have already successfully transplanted Hashirama Senju's cells.
And from what I can see, you have undergone a significant transformation yourself."**
Kabuto chuckled as he studied Danzo's expression—an expression filled with longing.
The hunger for power.
The desperation for strength.
It was so… familiar.
Kabuto tilted his head. "Yes, I can help you. But tell me, Danzo-sama… What can you offer in return?"
Danzo smirked. "If you give me power—true power—and help me claim the title of Hokage… Then, just as I once aided Orochimaru, I will support your future experiments."
Kabuto's smirk widened.
Now this… this was interesting.
He had been waiting for an opportunity like this.
And it just so happened—he had something in mind.
