Darius woke up to the scent of roasted meat drifting into his nose, instantly reminding him where he was. The small hut, the crackling fire, and… Lotfi, standing there, flipping pieces of meat over the flames with a faint smile, as if he had no worries in the world.

Darius sat up, feeling his body slightly stronger after the last battle. He glanced at Lotfi, then at the meat.

"This… is from yesterday's deer?" Darius asked, though he already knew the answer.

Without looking up from the meat, Lotfi replied, "Of course. There isn't much else to eat here. And trust me, this thing is packed with energy. You'll need it."

Darius didn't ask further. He was too hungry to care—even if the meat was cursed. He started eating in silence, while Lotfi sat across from him, taking a small bite, chewing lazily.

After a few moments of silence, Darius spoke. "Lotfi… tell me about this region. How exactly did you get stuck here?"

Lotfi smiled, as if he had been waiting for this question.

"This place… if you were to give it a name, it would be The Deep Forest Region. It's divided into three main zones, each ruled by a monster."

Darius wasn't surprised but listened attentively.

"First, there's The Fog Zone."

Darius frowned, remembering the creature he had encountered before.

"That thing…" he muttered under his breath.

Lotfi nodded slowly. "Yes, an extremely powerful creature. They say it's impossible to

Darius felt a lump in his chest. The place where he had almost died, where he lost track of Adam...

Lotfi stretched his arms lazily. "So, that's the situation. I've been stuck here for years. I tried to get past the Druid, tried to get past the Sin Beast—failed both times. So, I decided to stay here, where I can live without causing trouble."

Darius looked at him, then spoke slowly. "Then, how do you expect me to get you out of here?"

Lotfi grinned. "Simple. I was going to train you. Make you stronger than me, especially with your talent. And after a few years, you'd find a way to defeat those monsters."

Then, in a lower voice, he added, "Or at least… that was the plan."

Darius sensed something strange in his tone. "What do you mean?"

Lotfi sighed, then gave him a sharp look—devoid of his usual sarcasm. "I was going to train you, but… you're carrying something that will kill you before you kill those monsters."

Darius understood immediately. The monster's heart.

He looked at Lotfi for a moment, then said, "Lotfi… I've decided to go alone."

Lotfi raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And why this crazy idea?"

Darius clenched his fist. "Because I need to know my true strength. If I'm going to get you out of here, I need to become stronger—but I don't want to rely on you for everything."

Lotfi was silent for a moment, then gave a small smile. "You're stubborn. I like that."

Then he stood up and extended his hand to Darius, who shook it firmly.

"Alright then, but don't die out there. I'll be waiting for you to come back alive."

Darius didn't reply, just smiled faintly, then turned and walked into the darkness.
