THAT'S WHAT I HATE ABOUT PEOPLE.

HEATHER'S POV

Jules and Kyle's had dropped me off at the university before leaving. I was thankful to God that I wasn't caught hugging one of the fastest rising actor and supermodel of all time or else it would have been a total game over for my hidden personality. I walked majestically through the aisle of the hall confidently basking and enjoying my freedom upon reaching my locker I found out that slurry and scandalous words were written on it.

Tears threatened to fall from my eyes but I breathe in gently letting out a sigh of relief like nothing had happened but fate seemed to have a prank to play on me as Catherine and her minions make their way towards my locker.

Catherine smirked cockily pushing the door of the locker so hard that it sound attracted the attention of everyone in the hallway. "Look who it is? Isn't it the fiancé snatcher a low life who can't keep to her business? She mocked with a wicked chuckle before signalling the two girls who pushed me to the ground.

I gulped glaring at her ferociously before standing up to my feet. "What has come over you miss and do I know you? I asked clutching the strap of my backpack tightly. "If you have a beef with me then come at me and stop slandering my name.

She eyed me sarcastically before closing up the distance, "Are you scared sweetheart I have started yet. She teased holding my chin in place roughly. "You would have thought about the consequences when you forget your place and got close to Drake.

The murmur amongst the crowd continued and I cursed the day I met Drake inwardly. He always called me his charm and karma but he was a walking terror and a temptation that found a way into my very existence. Anger kept on building inside me like a surging tornado and before I knew it I grabbed Catherine by the hair yanking her forward to meet her terrified gaze.

She spat gnashing her teeth, "you're a maniac and you won't get away with this Heather! She exclaimed shrieking throughout her speech. "Katie, Stacie help me she is messing up my curls.

I quickly looked at them ferociously daring them to come over, "I'd like to see who dares you'd know the reason why it takes two to tango and i wouldn't mind a threesome. I smiled wickedly pulling on her hair tightly watching her groan in pain. "Catherine Moore I thought you had some sense in you but clearly I was wrong you're just some old bully who couldn't get enough love from your parents or anyone around you so you decided to snag a fiancé who doesn't give a shit about you.

"Fuck you! She cursed grabbing my hair and the entire student began chanting encouraging us to fight. "You shouldn't mention my parents with such filthy mouth of yours.

I smirked quickly sweeping her off balance with a kick, "I have had enough of your insults and discrimination sissy and I'd love to repeat myself that I'm not in a relationship with your fiance. I said grabbing her hair not caring if it pulled off. "Now you listen carefully Catherine you have an hour to get this freaking bullshit off my locker or else when I come at you it ain't gonna be funny.

"You don't have an inkling of what I can do to you Heather. She threatened almost growling. "Heather don't think I'll turn a blind eye if you keep seducing my fiancée.

The animosity in her eyes as she spoke could tell she was damn serious and I could feel the hate in each word she spoke but that wasn't enough to get me scared. I could only smirk at her empty threaten with disgust eating me up.

Drake bulldozed through the crowd, a vision of dark, dangerous allure. His black shirt, unbuttoned to expose sculpted abs, and impeccably tailored trousers did little to mask the raw tension radiating from him. His grey eyes, usually cool, now burned with a mix of fear and a chilling curiosity as they locked onto Catherine. A flicker of stunned disbelief crossed his face when he saw her hair in my hand, quickly replaced by a wave of pure, venomous hatred. His voice, a low, predatory growl, cut through the noise.

"Step aside! Who dares to spread scandalous rumours about Heather I can see you're tired of breathing oxygen.

I was stunned at his immaculate beauty and speechless when his predatory gaze locked onto mine. The animosity in his eyes dispated quickly replaced with care and warmth but I wasn't going to be fooled again.

I scowled rolling my eyes in disgust shoving Catherine aside before letting go of her hair. "Drake i don't want any embarrassment but I'd prefer you keep your fiancée on a leash instead of letting her parading her arrogance everywhere. I sneered bumping into his shoulder as I walked past him without looking at him.

The crowd parted allowing me to easily walk away from the scene. I knew the chancellor was going to summon me to her office and I had to make sure my parents didn't hear about this incident or it's game over for me. I was drowned in my own thoughts meticulously looking for a way to make sure no one knew about what had happened when suddenly I crashed into another boy.

His brown eyes, warm and intense, held mine as he closed the distance. The scent of his hair gel, subtly spiced, mingled with the clean denim of his shirt. A bright, genuine smile flashed, momentarily distracting from the sculpted lines of his torso revealed beneath the fabric. Then, he was closer, the rose tattoo on his arm a blur as he effortlessly lifted me off my feet.

I panicked hitting him on his shoulder, "put me down you perv have you lost it?! I snapped angrily as he puts me down on my feet before smiling like nothing had happened.

"Hi I'm Michael Jenkins but you can call me MJ and you're? He introduced kissing the back of my palm but I hastily pulled away giving him a hostile look.

"Are you nuts or drunk?! How dare you hold me like that and here you are introducing yourself like nothing happened huh? I inquired suspiciously. "Who sent you is it Catherine or Phineas.

He blinked seductively scrunching his nose lightly, "oh I suppose you've met the devils of the university? I work for no one dearest I'm a senior in the art department and a major in mathematics. He replied chuckling. "I bumped into you mistakenly and as a gentleman I thought you might need help.

"That's no way to help a lady Mr Jenkins now if you'll excuse me I'm not in the mood for such conversations. I replied walking past him but he quickly grabbed my shoulder pulling me back. "What do you want Jenkins?!

He sighed looking at me with a curious gaze, "Jenkins? You haven't told me your beautiful name Luna and I'm curious to know. He smiled twirling my hair with hair fingers.

"I'm Heather Morgan a first year student in the medical department with a major in micro biology. So you've known my name can I leave already? I replied in a low but angry tone. "You're wasting in my time I've got class in a minute.

"Nice! Well since I've known your name I can rest easy. He remarks handing over my notebook that was lying on the floor. "Here... I'm inviting you to the bon fire party held in the honour of the freshmen.

I smiled casually tucking my hair behind my ear, "that's amazing but I've got something doing and my parents won't allow it. I said shoving my notebook in my bag. "It's risky and not safe at all!

"No Heather you should come you'll get to interact with people in the university make a new friend plus you've got me to keep you safe my friends wouldn't mind hanging out with you. He persuaded putting his hands in his pocket.

"I can't promise but I'll try and if you don't see me it's because I'm freaking busy with homework and stuff. I replied in a dismissive tone.

He smiled jubilantly typing my his number in my phone, "there's my number once you're ready you can call me and I'll send you the address right away. He promised handing me the phone. "I've saved it as MJ so I'll be waiting Heather it's nice to meet a beautiful lady like you.

I blushed hiding my face in my Palm, "likewise Micheal you must be a sweet talker. I shrugged pulling on my bag strap.

He was about responding but his glamorous smile went grim and before I could register what was going on a hand pulled me by my waist holding me tightly. I looked up and Drake's predatory gaze locked unto his. The hatred in it could not help hidden and I could only wriggle in his hand like a worm sprinkled with salt, the more I tried to struggle the tighter his grip on my waist.

The tension in the room escalated making me feel uneasy and the hatred in their eyes became deeper and greater as they looked their gaze on each other ina standoff for the one who would emerge victorious.

Drake growled in low tone, his veins became visible making an intricate weaving under his skin, "Get your fuckin grin where they should be Micheal Jenkins or else head might roll all over the place with someone wriggling in the pool of his own blood. He snarled in an icy but dangerous tone, his voice dropped with venom and malice.

Michael's expression hardened defiantly, "Drake Xavier it's good to see you again right after the death of your cousin you went missing. He . "I'm just inviting someone to the freshmen feat bonfire party but I never knew I was hitting on your bitch.

His words weighed heavily on my self respect and when it felt like I wanted to snap at him, Drake pounced on him grabbing him by the collar before landing a devastating blow to his face. Each punch Michael received was a testament to how angry Drake was. Drake's punch were delivered with unwavering hatred and with such an intensity that I had never seen anywhere.

I cowered pulling him by the shoulder, "Drake get off you'll kill him. I sobbed pulling him away but he wouldn't bulge. "Look he is bloody and won't make it if you keep hitting him like that!

He shoved me aside continuing his assault, "Keep your fuckin invitation to your fuckin self mate! Heather's mine and mine alone now go tell your homies the same and stop parading yourself around her. He barked letting Michael's limp body slip from his bloody hand.

He turned to face me while he wiped his bloody hands with a handkerchief before throwing it inside the trash can by the wall. He frowned when I backed away scared for my dear life and when he tried to hold my hands I gave him a hard slap.

I blinked fumbling through my belongings for the pocket knife which I realised was left on my nightstand. "Get away from me Drake you're a monster! He was just inviting me and nothing else. I screamed sobbing as my body trembled with fear. "Who made you my boyfriend huh you're choosing for me and that I deeply hate about people.

He sighed groaning in frustration before staring at me with a dark grin before closing up our distance in a swift move. "I'm sorry Heather I can't think straight when you're around me maybe that's my real nature and it's violence. He admitted hugging me tightly before wiping my tears with the back off his palm. "I'm going to leave if you feel that way about me but I won't stop getting violent if anything happens to you.

My eyes widened in surprise at the conviction and emotions in his words. It stirred a sympathetic feeling and a sense of familarity within me even when I tried to overlook his words I felt a sharp pain in my chest and instantly I ran off feeling an unusual sense of guilt and comfort but I knew this was far from over and something needed to be done but I have to start from the beginning of everything.
