Rank?

As Haru drifted in the world of his thoughts, a loud announcement echoed through the classroom.

“It’s time for the ranking test,” the teacher declared.

Excitement buzzed through the air as students got up from their seats and made their way to a massive hall. At the center of the hall stood a large crystal ball, resting on a grand pedestal. The atmosphere was thick with tension, anticipation written on every face.

Kana nudged Haru with a smug grin. “Now you won’t be able to hide your rank anymore.”

Tomoko folded her arms, glancing at him with mild curiosity. “And I’ll finally get to see if I’m equal to this trash.”

Kana shot her an annoyed look. “Who are you calling trash?”

Within seconds, the two were bickering like children.

Haru let out an exaggerated sigh, shaking his head. “Wow, you guys are really good friends.”

Both turned to him at the same time, voices overlapping. “We aren’t friends!”
