The next class was physical education, and the first thing I heard on the field was Hana's complaint.
“Ah, I feel so lazy to move my body in this hot weather. You know? It's going to make my pores sweat excessively,” Hana said, continuing to walk backward so she wouldn’t lose the conversation without looking at me.
“But it will make your body healthier. You just need to move a bit if you're too lazy,” I replied.
Hana always complained when it came to doing things she considered hard. Even though her house has a large gym, she never uses it. Her father is very worried because Hana is always so lazy to exercise. That’s why the principal always asks me to give her advice slowly.
“But still, it’s going to be exhausting. If I want to exercise, I could just use the massage chair at home. And that... aww,” Hana said, unaware that she accidentally bumped into someone behind her. I didn’t notice either because I was too focused on her endless complaining. Ugh, why did it have to be him?
Realizing she bumped into someone, Hana quickly turned around. Fortunately, she didn’t fall because the person caught her.
“Narin, I forgot something. I guess I won’t feel tired at all today,” she said, still staring at the guy without shifting her gaze. Yeah, you know him. He’s the troublemaker. And now Hana is glued to him like glue.
“Are you okay?” the troublemaker broke the silence in the middle of the field. By now, all eyes were on us. Ugh, I just want Hana to realize what she’s doing.
“No, I’m not okay. Ouch, this really hurts,” Hana said, trying very hard to look like she was in real pain. A very hard effort.
“But I think you’re fine,” the troublemaker continued with a sweet smile toward Hana. Oh no. Now he’s really going to hurt her.
“Your smile seems to pierce my heart. You’re so handsome,” Hana said.
The troublemaker looked at me, probably trying to signal me to deal with Hana.
“Hana. Enough. Stand properly!” I couldn’t stand her craziness anymore. It was better to take her away from here. After a little force, Hana stood up straight again.
“Do Hwan, I want your phone number.” So now she’s aware, and she’s asking for his phone number? Well, whatever.
“Hm, sure. But I don’t remember my number because I just changed my phone.”
“It’s fine. I can wait until class is over.”
“Okay.”
After Do Hwan left, my hand moved to her shoulder. Of course, I had been holding myself back from hitting her.
“Yakk! Do you know how many people were staring at you just now? You hugged him like you were glued to him!” I said, frustrated because we were the center of attention. Even though they weren’t looking at me, just being in the middle of them made me feel like a noisy mosquito, powerless.
“YA YA YAAA Narin. How’s my makeup? My lipstick? My eyeshadow? Ahh, I didn’t get a chance to fix my makeup in the toilet. What should I do?” After all the effort I made to get her to realize it, now I’m the one losing my mind. Oh well, maybe this is what they mean by love is blind.
“You really should exercise more so your brain works better,” I could only shake my head and leave her, heading to the center of the field.

After 30 minutes of physical education class, it was finally time for a break. I walked in search of a comfortable seat by the edge of the field with Hana trailing behind me.
“I’m going to the toilet,” she said while rummaging through her bag and pulling out her small makeup kit. She was in such a hurry that she hadn’t even had a sip of water yet. I then stopped her hand and offered her my water bottle.
“Drink this, you just finished exercising. It’s not good for your body.”
“I’ll drink it later. I’ll be right back,” she ran off without taking the bottle I offered her. She’s so stubborn. What else can I do to look after her?
I could only wait until she came back. I was sure it wouldn’t be long; after all, she was just fixing her makeup, not starting from scratch.
My focus was distracted when suddenly a loud cheer rose from all directions. What’s happening here? And after observing carefully from the center of attention, it wasn’t surprising_someone who causes a commotion will always be the center of it. My initial concern for her faded, because it seemed like she was actually enjoying it too.
Just by throwing the basketball into the hoop, the girls would cheer for him. Well, it couldn’t be denied either, his soft masculinity instantly hypnotized everyone on the field. And I couldn’t imagine if Hana were here seeing her crush steal the hearts of so many girls. She might complain a lot, but she’d still feel happy seeing the commotion-maker looking so handsome while playing basketball.
Oh, right. It’s been quite a while since she went to the restroom and hasn’t come back yet. I checked the time on my phone, and 20 minutes had passed. Where could she be? It’s impossible she hired a makeup artist just to touch up her face while waiting for a meeting to exchange phone numbers, or maybe IDs.
Could she have gone to class without waiting for me? I wondered about the possibilities. But that didn’t seem likely. Finally, I decided to call her. After waiting for the phone to ring, hoping it would be answered, I realized the ringing was coming from inside Hana’s bag. She didn’t have her phone with her.
Hahhh... There was no other choice but to go look for her at the restroom. I packed up my bag and hurried off. I quickened my pace toward my destination to find out what was really going on and finally arrived. Without thinking much, I entered to check if Hana was still inside. But it was empty. I knocked on the toilet doors one by one to double-check, but got the same result.
Not knowing where else to look, I decided to step outside the toilet and ask a student who had been in front of the toilet earlier.
“Yoora, did you see Hana come out of the toilet p?” I asked my classmate who was chatting happily.
“Hana?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m not sure if it was Hana or not. But a while ago, I saw someone who looked like Hana being helped to the school clinic,” she explained while trying to recall the events from a few minutes ago.
“Why was she being helped?”
“Because she fell on the floor and couldn’t stand properly.”
“Thanks, Yoora.”
I hurried to the school clinic to check on Hana. Hah, I had a feeling this would happen. With her weak physical condition, she hadn’t even had a sip of water after exercising.
