Robina was still at the wedding having hearts in her eyes at how cute the couple looked. Her sister had left her a few minutes back to pick a phone call. She didn't mind it but noticing how much time had gone by she decided to call Decota and find out if she was okay. She may not have been the best but she was her little sister so she ought to be concerned about her. She walked a stone throw away from the event so she could comfortably speak on the phone without disrupting others that were in the even. She was beginning to think her call wouldn't be picked when she heard her sister's voice explain that there had been an issue concerning the wedding that she had had to handle but she was on her way back. Robina heaved in relief and hang up and walked back to where they had been sitting. She had not made it there when she hit a wall of human flesh and judging by the cologne that reached her nostrils and the sudden heat that spread across her body, she knew who that person was even without looking at his face.
She looked up to be met by a smile and his eyes looking at her lovingly and she smiled basking in his vision. She gave him a look over and realized he was dressed according to the event as she was in his white slacks and royal blue shirt and she couldn't deny that he looked amazing. So amazing that she unknowingly bit her lip looking at him like a meal placed in front of her. She whispered a hi before getting on her tippy toes and kissing his cheek. Even with heels on her feet she still couldn't comfortably reach his cheek. He whispered a hi back and placed a chaste kiss on her forehead.
"I need to talk to you for a while." He said taking her hand in his and leading her into the hotel.
"I need to tell Decota where I am so she doesn't look for me." Robina explained as they waited for the elevator.
"No need to. She knows I am with you. She is the one who told me where you were." Arsher explained.
He led her into the elevator with his hand on the small of her back to guide her. She was quiet as she pressed the button to the basement. She scoffed in her head at how lazy being rich made people including herself that she couldn't take the stairs to the basement. Within seconds the elevator stopped and he guided her out again. She looked at the room where she had found herself and knew immediately that there was a special moment.
As if the universe was working on her wishes for the day, Arsher asked her to dance with him before he could tell her why he had called her and she couldn't deny. She couldn't deny the man and neither could she deny the song as they were both her favorite. She took his hand as he led her to the small makeshift stage that had been placed to be almost in the middle of the room. She could feel the attention of everyone in the room but she didn't mind as she had Arsher holding her hand, calming her nerves down. He placed one hand at the small of her back and the other held one of her hands while she on the other hand placed hers right above his heart and she could feel it beating beneath her palm as he started swaying them to the beat.
Everything in the room seemed to disappear as she looked into his eyes while they danced. She forgot she was around other people and she focused on her man and her. He then twirled her and when she faces the opposite side she couldn't feel the warmth of his embrace anymore and so she turned back to look at him only to see him holding out a velvet box that held a beautiful red ruby ring.
She brought her hands to cover her mouth as her heart skipped a beat. She couldn't believe that it was finally her moment. Maybe she had been right when she said luck had been working overtime for her. She looked at him to see him waiting for her to calm down so he could speak. She talked herself into taking deep breaths in and out until she could calm down her racing heart but it didn't seem to work so she places her palm on it trying to calm it as she heaved out a cry. She hadn't even known she was crying until that moment so she laughed at the idea. She took in huge gulps of air and finally calmed down enough to be able to hear him through the sound of her beating heart.
"I have known you for a while now. We outgrew our enmity and became friends and now you are my girlfriend but I want to change that as I also want to change the ring on your finger and your last name. And that will only happen if you allow me." He declared and paused for a while.
"I want to spend every waking moment with you. I want to see you smile when you are having an amazing dream. I want to hold you back in case you decide to fight someone else for stating that I'm good looking which of course I am." He paused as she laughed out at that point. That was indeed her. She could easily through hands if someone seemed to threaten her man so he was right.
"I want to laugh when you mess things up in the kitchen because the only thing you know how to make is a sandwich. All I am saying is, Robina Simons will you be mine for the rest of my life?" He asked taking her left hand in his and being prepared to remove the ring that her sister had bought for her.
Robina did not have words to describe her feelings at that moment. She had tears leaving her eyes and her stomach was fluttering full of butterflies. Her mouth felt dry and full of saliva at the same time and all she could do was nod over and over again desperately trying to get herself to say something but all she could do was open and close her mouth like a fish. She looked at Arsher who was still looking at her anticipating her answer and nodded again but he laughed it off. She immediately knew what he was going to say.
"Words babe. Words." He said while caressing her knuckles hoping to bring her some sort of comfort and calmness so she could be able to utilize her words as he had stated and it helped. She was somehow able to bring herself to say the words that she had desperately wanted to say since she became his girlfriend.
"Yes. Yes I will." She said with tears still streaming from her eyes. She watched as he slowly took off the band that was on her finger and he threw it somewhere into the dark behind him but she didn't hear it land. He then placed the beautiful silver ring with a red ruby embellishing it on the same finger. He gave it a kiss and stood up taking her lips to his as the cheering of the people around morphed into the back of her mind. All that was left was the beautiful speech, the weight of the ring and his lips.
