Arsher

Arsher did not know what had gotten into him. He had never been one to want to prove himself but in this case he had done just that. It may have taken him up until the moment that her breath was ragged and her clothes clung to her body as if knowing how to react for him to notice it but he had done something that should not have been done. He knew it, this was a mistake that would change the whole dynamic of how their lives would unfold. He hoped however that she was not stupid enough to make sure they both lost everything they had been working so hard on. As he walked out of the room he couldn’t help the deep desire to put his fingers into his mouth sucking on them slowly and taking in the residue taste from the woman. He almost stopped on his tracks just to savor what he was tasting. He however had an image to uphold and he was determined to do so at all cost and nothing was going to stop him. He composed himself heading to the men’s bathroom to wash his hands. He needed to wash her off him if this was going to work. He hoped she was not going to do anything that would compromise what they had in that moment. He washed his face and dried up using some paper towels that had been provided. After a few minutes of practicing his smile he decided to go back to his party.

A small part of him felt satisfied about putting the woman in her place after the stunt she had just pulled. He had not known she could do that to him but she had just proved him wrong. She was way more stubborn that he had expected and that served as an enticement for him. He smiled stupidly at that before he made his way through the throngs of people trying to find his woman, well the woman his mother was hell bent on making sure he married. It didn’t really matter at that point because he was into it just as his mother was. He knew what poverty was and he was not interested in walking through the same path again. His father had walked it and they had lived hand to mouth. That taste was one that he did not wish to experience ever again. He deeply wanted his children to have a good life, the best life he could afford. He knew that he was going too far but when he had tasted money for the first time he knew that there was not extent that he would not go to make sure that he was richer. He wanted to grow richer day by day. He was determined to have that happen no matter the cost. To him it did not matter who he hurt as long as he got what he wanted.

“Papi, I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” The mention of that name took him back to the years he had buried away and he did not want to remember. He had gotten past it and he was trying to make it past that but somehow the mere mention of a name just made everything he had worked so hard to make sure kept together just fell apart in his mind. The curtain he had pulled closed so tightly on the little theatre that played in his mind opened up and he couldn’t close it on time and he was stuck watching that show again. The anguish he felt in that moment couldn’t equate to anything he had ever felt. In that moment he felt her soft voice calling him by that name that he had always been fond of. Her sweet smell wafted through the air carried by the wind. She smelled heavenly and she looked heavenly. She was the one thing he could never get enough of. She was the drug that he had gotten addicted to and he didn’t want to stop. He could almost touch her and her presence felt as though it was the one thing that he needed, craved for in that moment. He could not even think of anything else yet at the same time all that brought a dull pain in his chest. It was painful and he couldn’t understand why.

“Arsher are you okay?” The concern rang and he understood why the pain. It was just a memory of what he had buried away deep down. One he had thought was gone forever but turned out it was there. He swallowed subtly before kissing her forehead to reassure her and nodding yes. He saw the streak of doubt on Robina’s face but he quickly made sure to smile and hide away his conflicted feelings at that moment. He almost wanted to cuss at how much of a bad time that the memory to resurface. He saw Decota walking back into the hall to join them and that was when he noticed, Her man was right there next to them. He had not noticed it. Maybe he was a bit out of it but he hoped that no one had noticed how badly he had zoned out. He decided to try and draw away the feeling of sinking by focusing on other things around him, like the stain on Decota’s dress. It seemed interesting and more so because he knew exactly what it was but he dared not even warn her wanting to see if the rest would notice. He gave her a smile before turning to his woman and kissing her forehead once again, a small part of him wanting to be sure she was still there.

She walked up to Uriah, making sure to step into his arms and hide her face away at the crane of his neck and he knew why. She felt as though she had done something that wasn’t meant to be done. He could relate, except for the small part where he was used to it and she was not. She was still innocent and new to the game. He had doubts she had ever even kissed someone other than Uriah. She was the most innocent looking woman he had ever seen and he was sure he had seen many before he broke through their guarded hearts and made them less of innocent and more of ruined. He knew he was going to do the same with her and he was just taking his sweet time since the situation was different this time. He was fooling around with the woman he would end up calling his sister and in as much as he wanted to play it safe, the one taste he had had of her did not seem enough. He wanted more and he knew more he was going to get. He had not lied to her when he told her that he always got what he wanted.

“Dec, what’s that on your dress?” Robina’s question had him raising an eyebrow at Decota in challenge waiting for her to say anything that would compromise their situation but instead the girl turned to the floor like it was the most interesting thing she had ever seen. She could barely hide her embarrassment and he found himself smirking at that knowing fully well she would not have the guts to say anything at that moment. He had won this time round and he intended to put her even in more uncomfortable situations to make sure she understood that he was in control of all the things that happened between then. She barely spoke loud enough for them to hear but he heard it anyway. He was determined to know the kind of lie she would come up with in that moment of being utterly embarrassed. He hoped to God that she had a good one or else her man would suspect her and the small thing they had going on would be extinguished before it even started.

“I was a bit clumsy in the bathroom and some water splashed on me.” The two other people standing there laughed a bit.

“Typical you mama. Let’s get you home and cleaned up.” Uriah spoke while Robina rather quickly accepted that response. As they walked away he looked at her hoping she had some kind of response to whatever had just happened there. He had expected a bit more of questions from both parties about the weird stain that did not even look like a patch of water. It was rather a hard pass. He could come up with a better response than that. He kept nagging to get to understand what their internal joke was even as they left the conferenced to go home yet Robina was being difficult on it until he pulled the trust card and he saw how she succumbed.

“She is just super clumsy especially when water is involved so I know it’s normal for her to stain her clothes like that.” Robina finally explained vaguely leaving him wanting to get all the details that he could ever want about that situation.
