Sasha followed Norah behind as they ran further into the woods, but Norah abruptly stopped, almost making Sasha bump into her.
“Norah! Why did you stop? We have to run.” Sasha said, shivering in fear.
“Sasha we should split.” If they were truly after her, Sasah's life could be in danger.
“No, we should stick together.”
Sasha said as her eyes began to tear up.
“I am so scared, Norah; please don't leave me alone.”
Norah bit her lips; Sasha has put her in a dilemma.
“Found you!” They both heard the groggy voice and Norah used the opportunity to run in a different direction.
Norah ran through the thick forest as she brushed through the leaves, she kept running and running until she ended up in an open space.
The only sound she could hear was that of her heartbeat.
“Norah!”
Norah gasped as she turned to see Grace smiling maniacally at her.
“You still look surprised.” Grace began walking.
But Norah dashed into the forest making Grace grit her teeth in anger as she chased after her.
She kept getting slapped by the large leaves, but she did not care. She had to get out of these woods fast.
Suddenly, she tripled over a large branch, hurting her leg.
Norah fell on her face.
She groggily stood up. The pain from her foot shot up and spread through her body.
But Norah clenched her lips to avoid shouting out.
“well well look what we have here.”
The rough voice of the mistress sends chills down Norah’s spine.
“What do you want with me?” Norah stammered as tears flowed down her cheeks.
“I want you dead, Norah; your death will bring me joy.”
The witch smiled as she glared evilly at Norah.
Her wrapped body looked disgusting and dirty as she slowly raised her hand and pointed it towards Norah.
“Do not worry, I will make it a painless death”
Before she could even say the spell a wolf leaped from nowhere and bit her hand.
The witch screamed in agony, and soon wolves surrounded them.
The witch was using spells to fight off the wolves whilst a black fur wolf slowly made its way towards Norah.
She tried to stand up, but the pain from her injured leg shot through her body again.
Making it impossible for her to move.
Just as it was about to jump on her.
Jordan caught the wolf by the neck and tore it off his body.
The blood splashed everywhere, making Norah dizzy until she eventually fainted by the unsightly fight between Jordan and the wolves.
Meow!
Her eyes twitched.
‘Is she dead?’ Norah thought to herself before she slowly opened her eyes.
The room was dark due to the large black curtains that covered the window.
It was spacious and large, with nothing but a study desk and the enormous bed she was lying on.
She sat up and kept looking at the strange room with grey wallpapers that had black leafless tree designs all over it.
Then her eyes landed on the black cat sitting by the bed staring at her.
“You are finally awake.”
Norah gasped in shock.
“You can talk!” She whispered to the cat.
“Cats don't talk, Norah; look towards the couch on your left.”
Norah glanced to her left, and there he was, sitting on a black couch with a book in his hands.
“Sorry, I didn't see you there.”
She hastily got up from the bed even before Jordan could stop her, and a wave of pain passed through her body until she landed on the ground with a thud.
“I was going to remind you of your dislocated ankle.” He said not budging from his chair.
Then the memory of all that happened last night popped into her head.
“You!” She said pointing at him, fear evident in her eyes.
“Yes, me.”
He placed the book on a small table in front of him.
“Sasha and Charity, did you perhaps….”
“They are back at home, safe and sound.”
Jordan cuts in, but she sighs in relief.
“Let's catch to the chase. You must know by now that you are the mate chosen for me by that meddling, useless goddess.”
“You mean goddess Selene?”, her voice came as a whisper.
“Yes.”
“How do we end the bond?” Norah asked.
There is no way she will want to end up with a man who kills people like he is nothing.
“I am glad you feel the same way as me.
I am going to say my full name, then reject the bond, and you are going to say your full name and accept the rejection.”
“OK.” Norah got up and limped over and sat on the bed.
“I am going to say it now but I am gonna need your full name.
“My full is Norah Chen.”
Jordan nodded and stood in front of her.
“I, Jordan Evergreen, reject Norah Chen as my mate!”
“I, Norah Chen, accept the rejection from Jordan Evergreen.”
Jordan felt the bond break, his heart felt like it was pierced by an arrow.
Norah held her chest and began to cry in pain.
“It hurts.” She said as she sobbed.
“Is okay, it only hurts for some time. I will ask the maids to bring breakfast for you.”
Jordan opened the door, one foot out, he felt the bond between Norah and him tightened.
“That's impossible.” Jordan was completely stunned.
He turned to look at Norah, who stopped crying as a beautiful smile spread on her lips “The pain is gone.”
He hurried over to her side.
“I, Jordan Evergreen, reject Norah Chen as my mate!”
Norah gave him a puzzled look. Didn't they just save the bond?
“What are you waiting for Norah? Accept the rejected.” Jordan said, looking impatient and annoyed.
“I, Norah Chen, accept the rejection from Jordan Evergreen!”
The bond was saved again.
An excruciating pain went through their body.
Norah began to cry in pain again whilst he slowly made his way to the door but the bond between them tightened again.
Jordan became frustrated.
‘Is the bond between them unbreakable?” Jordan knew that there was only one person who could answer all his questions.
Goddess Selene was sitting by a large sparkly water, staring down at her children on earth with a smile on her face.
“I see that Rachel and Vincent have rekindled their romance.”
Selene said and her maid responded
“Yes my lady, and it is all thanks…”
The maid gasped and moved back.
The eerie aura felt like it was suffocating her.
She turned around and saw a cold bright Hazel eye staring at them.
It super sped and grabbed Selene by the neck.
The maid screamed, and the guards ran and quickly transformed into their wolves.
“Stop!” Selene commanded the werewolves who kept growling at Jordan.
“Why did you keep bonding with the girl? Break the bond! Break it now!”
Jordan's hands tightened around her neck, but Selene looked calm as usual.
“I am afraid that I can't Break the bond.”
Jordan scoffed.
“Why can't you?”
“The elders have a hand in this; they wanted me to bond you to a woman so that they can have control over you. I refused to bond you to the woman they chose; I was still thinking of who to bond you to, but you found your soulmate on your own, and so the bond between the two of you was born.”
Jordan looked perplexed.
“So you mean to say that you didn't bond me to Norah.”
“Yes, I did not; even I was stunned. I have never seen a bond created on its own. Jordan, she is your soulmate for a reason.”
Knowing that Selene was speaking the truth. Jordan released his grip around her neck.
“Is there a way to break the bond?”
“I don't think there is. Didn't you try to break the bond, but it did not work?
Jordan clenched his fist, he teleported back to the palace.
“Your Highness, you are finally here.”
“Go get me that witch,” Jordan said as he strides towards his office.
Christopher nodded and hurried away to get the witch.
“I must break this bond, no matter what it takes.”
Jordan said as determination flashed through his eyes.
A man walked into the room with a huge smile on his face, Norah's brows furrowed in confusion as she stared back at the man smiling at her.
His radiant blue eyes looked into her black ones as he introduced himself
“My name is Doctor Henry, and I am here to treat your wounds.
He walked over and snatched her hand. She wanted to pull her hand back, but his grip tightened, and she suddenly felt something warm flowing Through her body.
Her ankle healed, and so did all the bruises on her face.
“Since it is done. Goodbye. The man walked out before she could say thank you.
A few minutes later, the cat meowed and leapt on his feet as It began to walk out.
Out of curiosity and boredom, Norah decided to follow it
The hallway was empty and quiet as the cat majestically walked through the halls; it pushed The door at the end of the hall and ran.
Norah went closer as soon as she touched the door, she heard his voice.
“So, as soon as I kill her, I will be free from this bond.”
Shocked from the revelation.
Norah accidentally Knocked down a vase on a table she didn’t notice earlier.
Jordan raised his head, and his eyes met with Noah's, which was evident with fear and shock.
