Time Flies, Five Years Have Passed.
On an alien planet called Namek, a shocking water column suddenly surged from the surface of the sea. An incomparably huge underwater beast was thrust high into the sky by the water column. After soaring a thousand meters above sea level, it suddenly fell.
At that moment, a young boy with black hair, a long tail, and an immature appearance emerged from the depths and collided with the giant beast—instantly killing it. The young man then hoisted the carcass and flew toward the shore.
There, Nail, the strongest among the Namekians, stood with his arms crossed, watching the flying boy intently.
"Uncle Nail, I have won! You don't have to worry about me going crazy, right?" the young kid said with a smile as he held the giant beast.
"Broly, I've seen it. You can control your anger now, which is good," Nail replied in a flat tone, though his words were laced with concern.
After all, as Broly's guardian, Nail had raised him for the past five years.
Watching Broly toss the beast's carcass ashore and then light a fire to grill it, Nail couldn't help but recall events from five years ago. Back then, the Saiyan named Link—who had lived on Namek for a time—had brought Broly, then only one year old, to the Great Elder.
Not only did Link want Broly to be raised by the Namekians, but he also requested the use of the Dragon Balls. What Nail couldn't understand was that the Great Elder had agreed to all of Link's requests. Later, when Nail inquired about the elder's intentions, the answer left him somewhat puzzled.
The Great Elder actually believed that these two Saiyans might one day become the saviors of the Namekians.
Savior? Nail snorted coldly. He didn't know much about Link, but this Broly… almost became the murderer of the Namekians! Nail never expected a naturally strong individual like Broly in this world.
Although he was still just a child, Broly's strength grew day by day. Fortunately, despite his rapid growth, Broly remained obedient and rarely caused trouble. Yet sometimes, when faced with danger, he would suddenly lose control of his emotions—each outburst turning the young Saiyan into a raging demon.
In Broly's first year, Nail was able to keep him in check, but by the second year, after one of his outbursts , Broly's power far overwhelmed Nail.
Luckily, when Link came to Namek, he seemed to have foreseen that Broly might lose control. When summoning the Namekian Dragon, Link used a wish to create a item called the Flute of Tranquility—a device capable of soothing anger and calming minds—which he then gave to the Great Elder. Thanks to this flute, Namek narrowly escaped being destroyed by Broly on several occasions.
While Nail recalled the past, Broly had already devoured the entire beast and patted his bulging belly with satisfaction.
"Uncle Nail, I'm full. I even left a piece of meat for you. Do you really not need to eat it?" Broly asked cheerfully.
"I have said before that the Namekians only need sunlight and water," Nail replied.
"Okay… then I'll eat it myself!"
Nail watched Broly enjoy his meal, and the corners of his mouth curled up ever so slightly. Despite his fearsome reputation, Broly was, in many ways, a good boy—his kind nature earning him favor among the Namekians, as long as he didn't go berserk.
"Speaking of which… Broly, five years seem to be nearly over," Nail said suddenly.
Hearing this, Broly set down his piece of meat. "Really? Uncle Nail, is King Link coming out?"
"It's very possible. Do you want to go and have a look?" replied Nail.
"OK!" Broly immediately finished his meal and then flew upward. Without waiting for Nail's call, he hurried toward a place deep in the ocean. Nail didn't call after him but instead flew along.
Namek is an island planet—most of its surface is covered by vast oceans. Deep in its largest ocean area, a ball of light had appeared five years ago. For five years, this light ball had shone like a miniature sun, illuminating the surrounding waters. Those sensitive to Ki could even sense a faint yet powerful aura emanating from within it.
After a long flight, Broly and Neru finally arrived at the sea area where the light ball resided. Across the water, Broly immediately noticed a change from the past.
"Look! Uncle Nail, Brother Link is angrier than before! It's almost as if he is about to awaken," Broly remarked.
A bead of sweat formed on Nail's forehead. Broly didn't need to remind him—the increased, terrifying aura of the Saiyan was unmistakable. Damn it. What on earth had that Saiyan been doing these past five years?
Just as Broly and Nail neared the sphere beneath the waves, they were enveloped by its glow. Inside the light ball, Link's consciousness was gradually awakening.
Five years ago, after arranging everything, Link had begun the fusion of the legendary Saiyan bloodline deep in Namek's sea. For five long years, his consciousness had been stripped from his body, his physical form reduced to strands that shattered within the light, only to be reorganized and reborn. Finally, after five years, Link's body was reshaped.
In the next moment, a tremendous force pulled Link's consciousness back into his reformed body. A green light flashed through the sphere, and Link—who had been in a deep slumber—finally opened his eyes.
[Ding! The host has successfully integrated the legendary Super Saiyan bloodline!]
After opening his eyes, the first sound Link heard was the system's mechanically synthesized voice.
Clenching his fists in quiet triumph, he thought, "Finally succeeded! I never expected it would take a full five years just to fuse a legendary Super Saiyan bloodline! I wonder if it's because the system isn't powerful enough, or because the fusion is inherently too difficult?"
At that moment, the system spoke again:
[Reminding the host that the legendary Super Saiyan bloodline is the perfect bloodline! Although it took five years, the process has eliminated the side effect of the legendary Super Saiyan's inability to control power. The host will no longer have to worry about losing his mind in the future!]
