At that moment, a sound broke through the air.
Vegeta and Raditz's expressions changed as they turned to look. When a familiar voice reached their ears, both immediately knelt down.
"Vegeta..."
"Ratitz..."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" came the call.
"Get up," Link replied indifferently. His eyes fell on Vegeta, narrowing slightly.
Unexpectedly, the child that Paragus mentioned was troubling Broly turned out to be Vegeta—the second main character in the original story. No wonder, among the younger Saiyans, only Vegeta had the strength to fight Broly.
Since Link introduced the training method from the original plot, many Saiyans had grown much stronger. The genius warrior Vegeta, second only to Goku, had greatly improved his combat power with the new training methods.
Today, Vegeta's combat power had exceeded 20,000, making him the youngest Saiyan besides Broly to have a power over 10,000. Still, compared to fighters like Link and Broly, Vegeta was not as strong.
"Vegeta, I have business with Broly. You and Raditz should leave first," Link ordered.
"Um... Your Majesty, may I ask you a favor?" Vegeta stepped forward, fear in his eyes.
"What is it?" Link asked.
"Your Majesty Link, I heard that Broly lived with you for five years and became your disciple. I also want to become your disciple!" Vegeta pleaded.
"Oh?" Link's brows twitched with mild surprise. The proud and arrogant Vegeta now wished to seek his apprenticeship.
Link felt secret joy. He smiled and said, "Vegeta, you have great potential. In time, you will become a powerful warrior. But..."
He paused, then continued, "I'm sorry, Vegeta, I cannot teach you anything."
"Ah?" Vegeta's face fell in disappointment.
Then Link added, "Vegeta, Broly is not my apprentice. Broly and I are powerful because of our natural talent. Even if you want to learn, you cannot gain that talent."
"Talent?" Vegeta asked, hardly believing it. His father, King Vegeta, had always told him that he was a natural warrior with royal blood and the most talented of all Saiyans. Now it seemed his talent was nothing compared to Broly's.
Seeing Vegeta's shocked look, Link smiled and continued, "But don't be discouraged. Talent only sets your growth rate. If you train hard and keep practicing, you might catch up with Broly."
"Really? Can I really catch up with Broly? And what about you, King Link—can I catch up with you?"
"Maybe," Link said with a slight smile and remained silent.
After encouraging Vegeta and Raditz, Link sent the two young Saiyans away. He then turned to look at Broly. After more than a month apart, Broly's face looked a bit tired.
"Broly, will you come to Earth with me?" Link asked.
"Earth?" Broly replied slowly.
"Yes."
It was clear that the life of a Saiyan on Planet Vegeta was not right for Broly. Five years living on Namek, Broly's calm and introverted nature made him unsuited to the usual Saiyan life.
Though he was still young, he acted like an old man and was not troubled by simple tasks. This was good—at least Link did not have to worry about Broly suddenly going berserk.
Now that Broly no longer wanted to live on Planet Vegeta, it was better for him to go to Earth. Link knew someone there who would get along with him.
Not long after, Link and Broly suddenly appeared in Kami's lookout on Earth. Broly looked around the silent hall with curiosity.
"Kami!" Link shouted.
Soon, he saw the God and Mr. Popo approaching.
"Mr. Link, why are you here again?" the god asked, breaking into a cold sweat from the pressure Link exuded.
Before Link could explain, Broly shouted in surprise, "Namekian!"
When the Kami heard this, he looked astonished, "Little guy, do you know me?"
"Yeah, aren't you from Namek? Why are you on Earth?"
"A Namekian? I turned out to be a Namekian?"
Realizing his own origin, Kami felt happy and agreed to Link's request for Broly to stay in the Lookout. With the Kami's care, Link felt relieved about Broly. The Kami, being from Namek, and having a calm nature was just right for Broly.
Link believed Broly would be happy there.
After settling his worries, Link left to continue training. Time passed quickly—in the blink of an eye, more than nine months had gone by.
Then the system announced,
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the selection. Within one year, the combat power of more than 50 Saiyans have exceed 100,000]
Followed by the other choices being completed.
And lastly,
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing three choices at once. All rewards have been distributed: 5 tubes of S-cell reagent, a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and Martial Arts genius talent!]
In the gravity chamber, with gravity set at 50 times, Link was sleeping. But when the system's sound sounded, he immediately got up.
[Ding, selection is completed and rewards have been sent to your system space. Please check!]
Link looked and saw the new items in his system space. One was a set of 5 tubes of S-cells, which can allow Saiyans to become Super Saiyans.
Normally, only Saiyans living in peace and having a gentle nature slowly develop these cells. The other way was training intensely within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
In addition, Link now had the Martial Arts talent on his arsenal. In the future, when someone used a skill in front of him, there was a 30% chance he could learn it immediately.
Earning these three rewards at once made this year-long task very worthwhile.
