Chapter 24

After finishing her business at the hospital, Ning Qing asked her uncle to take her to her shop so that she could wait for him to contact the staff to ask about his house. As for them, they would clean up before moving in tomorrow or the day after.

Xiao Yao parked the cart and walked to the nearby county office. He didn't want to block the way, so he parked it at his niece's house. When the officer saw Xiao Yao, he was surprised. He was about to give the completed title deed to Ning Qing. After asking around, it turned out that Xiao Yao wanted to buy a house near his niece's house. Luckily, behind Ning Qing's house, there was a vacant house waiting to be sold, so he offered Xiao Yao 150 taels. Since the house wasn't in good condition, he told him to sell it at that price. Xiao Yao was willing to go and look at it. He could fix up the house himself without any trouble. The officer saw that he was really interested, so he told Xiao Yao to wait. He asked to go get the documents and the house key as usual.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the alley behind Ning Qing's shop. It wasn't that far away, they could easily walk through the door. Xiao Yao looked at the house and it wasn't too bad, it just needed a little bit of repairs and it was livable. Another thing he liked was that there was plenty of space for his rabbits, so he immediately agreed to buy it. The officer had Xiao Yao sign the documents and hand them to him. He also left Ning Qing's completed title deed to Xiao Yao. He would go prepare the title deed for Xiao Yao and bring it to him at home tomorrow.

Xiao Yao thanked the officer for his help. He also gave the officer five taels of silver for his land title deed, just like when his niece gave the officer money and everything went smoothly. When the officer saw that the uncle and nephew knew what was going on, he could only be happy that he had made a considerable profit from selling the two houses to the couple.

After saying goodbye to the staff, Xiao Yao locked the door and walked to Ning Qing's shop. He told his niece that the houses were right behind each other. Ning Qing was so happy that she told her uncle to drill a door through them so that she wouldn't have to walk around. Xiao Yao couldn't help but laugh because his niece and he had the same idea. He told Ning Qing that he would come to renovate the house tomorrow. If Ning Qing wanted to bring her stuff, she could come with him. Of course, Ning Qing wanted to come with her uncle. Now that she had the title deed to the shop, she didn't have to worry about anyone accusing her of staying there without permission. Today, they had all cleaned up the shop and the house. At the back of the house where there were many rooms, he also told his uncle that if his house wasn't finished renovating, they could come and sleep here first. It seemed that the previous owner had built a dormitory for the workers, so there were so many rooms. In addition, the previous owner didn't take the stuff from the restaurant, so Ning Qing didn't have to go through the trouble of buying things for the shop. She had already thought of several menus for breakfast. All that was left was to buy things and prepare them to sell later. She wanted her uncle to move in before opening the shop, in case the Lan Jiu and the others came to cause trouble. She still has a strong uncle to help her.

After they had agreed and cleaned up the house, they returned to Kang Village with smiles on their faces. Ning Qing also talked to her uncle about raising rabbits. It turned out that the area behind her uncle's house was so large that it was easy to raise many rabbits. Ning Qing also told her uncle to remember to drill a door first so that she could go and check out his house. Moreover, it was almost the weekend when her cousins were going back home. If they knew that her uncle had bought a house in the city, they would be very happy.

When they arrived home, Ning Qing said goodbye to her uncle and thanked him for helping her drive the cart. Xiao Yao could only laugh at her niece's gratitude. Instead of thanking her for letting her into the city, she thanked him. They had an appointment tomorrow after breakfast to move their things to Ning Qing's shop first. Fortunately, her things were not that much. Ning Qing still had to inform the village headman that they were moving to the city to facilitate her father's medical treatment.

Thinking of this, she went to the village headman's house to inform him first. After she had finished moving all her things, she would return the house key to him. The village headman knew about Ning Qing's necessity, that it was important to take care of her father, so he didn't say anything. He only told them not to worry that he would charge her a day or two of extra rent. Ning Qing even gave the village headman's grandfather 200 yuan in case the move was delayed and he wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to rent the house.

After leaving the village headman's house, he and his wife were still talking about how this child really thought for them, and was not stingy with money. This kind of person would not go hungry no matter what career he took up. It was a pity that their children were all married, otherwise he would have wanted Ning Qing to marry them. Such a good daughter-in-law was not easy to find.

Ning Qing, who had no idea that someone wanted her as a daughter-in-law, walked home with peace of mind. She also told everyone how the village headman had not urged them to move out, so she gave them two hundred yuan as compensation so that they would not have to be shy when moving their belongings.

Xiao Yao also told everyone in the house that he had gotten a house next to his granddaughter's shop, so they could live together in the city and rely on each other. The happiest people were Ning Qing's grandparents. They didn't think that their children would miss them so much.
