Second

Agnes ran into the forest with all her strength, not caring that her feet were covered in pebbles and thorny tree branches that made the soles of her feet bleed. Every now and then she looked back to see her mother who was far behind. As the girl's running speed slowed down, her breathing became irregular.

About an hour and a half ago Agnes was caught sneaking out the back door of her house. All Agnes had to do was pull the door handle and she would have made it, but the vase of flowers that had accidentally fallen while Agnes was packing in her room woke her mother up. Though Agnes thought her mother wouldn't wake up, she was wrong. And now she had to run from her mother's pursuit, who had been transformed into a demon.

Bruk!

Agnes fell hard as a weathered tree branch caught her foot. Cold sweat was pouring down, making the thin white T-shirt she wore soaked in sweat and mud.

Her beautiful, usually clean face was dirty and looked very tired. Slowly, she turned her body to lie on her back. Trying to regulate her breathing back to normal, the girl shook her head weakly as her eyes began to get heavy. Agnes had never fainted, but she would most likely faint now. Slowly her beautiful eyes began to close, and Agnes was unconscious.

It had been half an hour since Agnes fainted after running for miles from her mother's pursuit. She thought that her mother hadn't found her, but she was wrong! Right now, Chelsea--her mother was looking at Agnes with a mocking gaze.

“There you are, you little shit, fast asleep with no fear of me finding you,” Chelsea said, looking sarcastically at the child's dirty body.

“Sshhh,” Agnes winced softly as her consciousness began to return. The girl immediately sat up while rubbing her eyes and then gently rubbing the bridge of her nose as she felt a little dizzy.

The girl blinked her eyes as she looked around her surroundings for any sign of her mother. And when her eyes collided with a pair of eyes very similar to hers, Agnes immediately widened her eyes in surprise.

“Is the game over?” asked Chelsea as she stepped toward Agnes. Agnes immediately backed away slowly, the girl shook her head while taking the opportunity to run away from her mother.

Hap!

Bruk!

With a single stomp Agnes stood up and took a running start, but she was outpaced by her mother's hand which grabbed her ankle first, causing Agnes to fall down.

Sshhh...

Agnes again winced as her body fell and felt pain in several places. The girl clenched her hands into fists while biting her lips hard to keep her mother from hearing her cry. As for her mother? No question about it, she laughed out loud when she saw Agnes fall.

“Ah, that must have hurt a lot. Come here, my dear daughter. You've lost, so accept the fact and go back home now,” Chelsea said in a tone that was as gentle as possible as if mocking Agnes. That set Agnes off and she looked back to where her mother was standing with a lopsided grin.

“I never fucking lose!”

Bugh!

“AAARGH!!!” Chelsea screamed as Agnes kicked her hard in the stomach. The 41-year-old immediately fell to the ground. Meanwhile, Agnes stood up and stared at her mother with an intimidating glare.

“I've suffered enough, I've had it, mom! And I'm not coming back to your hellhole of a house, because I'm not your slave, *damn whore!” Agnes snapped and stormed off, leaving Chelsea crying out in pain while holding her stomach.

Disheveled and barefoot, Agnes walked through the vastness of the forest looking for a speck of streetlight to lead her to the city. But until now, the girl had not found that light. Until,

Brum! Brum!

Agnes's gloomy and desperate look instantly changed when she heard a car roar. Without waiting any longer the girl ran straight towards the sound, but after making it out of the forest Agnes had to swallow a bitter pill because the car was already traveling at high speed leaving Agnes far behind.

The girl's tears fell again, she also sobbed softly as she took another step. Like a broken record playing back, she remembered what she had said earlier. She, she had unintentionally exposed her own mother's disgrace.

“I'm sorry, mom.” muttered Agnes, it would be a lie if there wasn't a lingering sense of regret. After all, she was still her mother, despite her demonic behavior.

Agnes fell to her knees staring at the long road lined with dimly lit street lamps. Her gaze was blank, she was desperate. She was too tired to run or walk, her legs were no longer up to the task.

One of her hands was raised to cover her stinging eyes, Agnes was desperate. For a moment the girl was silent with her breathing starting to regulate until she heard the sound of car horns and screeching tires.

Deg! Deg! Deg!

Agnes' heart rumbled, her breathing became irregular again. The girl peeked out from between her fingers. 3 cars that Agnes knew to be worth millions or even billions of dollars stopped right in front of her with their headlights shining on her. Soon a man came out of one of the cars.

“Hey Damn it! Do you want to die?! Get out of the way before I run over that skinny body of yours!” snapped the man in his neat, formal-looking clothes. Black cloth pants paired with a white shirt and a black suit wrapped around the man's burly body.

Agnes didn't respond to the man's words, her eyes were immediately drawn to a striking spot. A red Ferrari car between a black Mercedes Benz car.

The girl lowered her head and began to wonder who the people in the expensive car were. Are they a group of criminals like gangsters? Mafia? Or maybe Psychopaths? If they were, Agnes would definitely be sold, used as a prostitute in a nightclub or even as a sex slave for those people.

Fear suddenly struck her as the girl's mind began to wander.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Agnes lowered her head even more when she heard footsteps approaching her. The girl closed her eyes tightly as she rubbed her white T-shirt that was already dirty and torn in several places. The soles of her feet and hands were starting to sweat, indicating that she was really scared.

Tap!

The footsteps stopped leaving 3 more steps. A man's masculine odor began to waft in, making Agnes suddenly smile a little. Ah, Agnes loved the masculine smell of a man. But suddenly the girl realized when the smell almost made her lose her mind, Agnes then opened her eyes and looked up to see who was the man who had the scent that could hypnotize her.

Deg!

The girl was dumbfounded staring in awe and disbelief at the figure in front of her. “Oh my God,” she murmured.

That figure, so handsome. His handsomeness made Agnes' heart beat so fast that she was speechless.
