TRAUMA (part 2)

Yves didn't know what was happening when Henry suddenly burst in and grabbed Yves's wrist took her out to a secluded place. He took a deep breath and showed her the post on the school forum. Yves eyes couldn't believe what she had just seen, it was a photo of her bloodied skirt which Emma took before.

Yves stood frozen in her place neither showing any emotions nor moving an inch, she came back to her senses when Henry cupped her face in his palms. She collapsed to the floor and pool of tears 😭 started flowing down her cheeks. After crying for a long time she stopped as there were no more tears left to shed, she then questioned Henry who was sitting beside her with his arm wrapped around her shoulder 'can i trust you?' yes, it was trust that was broken not Yves but her trust in people.

Yves couldn't believe, of all the people, her best friend Emma, would betray her. That betrayal broke her heart 💔.Did Emma ever consider her as a friend? Was all the moments they shared together worth nothing to her? Was Yves the only one who considered Emma as her best friend? Was all the caring, sharing, consoling each other, hanging with each other, laughing 😂 and crying🥹 together a lie🤥 ? Did she approach me to betray me, to make fun of me, to make me a subject of gossip and mockery, to break my heart ?

Yves train of thoughts came to a halt when, Henry kissed her forehead then looked into her eyes and said "You can trust me, "I swear upon macarons if I ever break your trust, I'll never will be able to eat a macaron ever again." Hearing that, she let out a silent laugh and he mirrored her expression, whilst, a seed of trust was sown in her heart❤️‍🩹. For she knew Henry wouldn't lie about macaroons, as it was a symbol of their relationship. Every time macaroons were served in the meals at the orphanage they would share it together. It became a habit for them to eat macaroons together. On the day, either of them wasn't present to share it, they would skip eating the macaroons.

Yves asked Henry to take her back to the orphanage, he made a call to his friend and told them to inform the teachers and took her back to the orphanage.

After changing into her pajamas, Yves slept till dinner time. She then woke up took a bath, changed into a white dress, walked out of the orphanage and took a walk without a destination in mind.

On her way, she was thinking about many options to solve the crisis like, tell an elder about it and punish her bullies or run away or put an end to everything, so that she never has to face a betrayal or get her heart broken ever again. As she was considering her options, she remembered the words Thomas, her uncle told her "the valor estate is like a family to him, their happiness is his happiness, their pain is his pain and that she could come to him whenever she is lost".

Deciding to bet her trust one last time and believe his words, she took a turn towards the path leading to the villa. Upon reaching her destination, she stopped in front of the huge gate. She rang the bell as she took deep breaths. As she stood in front of the huge gate, she remembered the past few days she spent with her uncle during her leave of absence from school. Those were the happiest days of her life.

A few seconds later, the watchman came walking towards the gate, spotting her, he smiled warmly 😊 and opened the gate, guiding her all the way to the door. Seeing the actions of the gatekeeper, she felt a swelling in her heart.

The door 🚪 opened revealing, the butler with a kind smile 🙂 on his face, he further guided her towards a room. As they reached the entrance, he instructed her to enter, thanking the butler, she entered.

As she walked into the room, a tall figure with broad shoulders and wide back stood facing the fireplace. Hearing the footsteps, the man around, revealing a man in his 50's, portraying a warm smile with gentle eyes. Seeing the familiar face and smile, she couldn't help but burst into tears.

Worried, Thomas walked towards her as he took her in his arms and sat on the sofa. She wept and wept for minutes, later she stopped crying 😭 as he patted her back. Watching her cry, broke his heart. A child who smiled so brightly that lit his gloomy villa, who played with him, who brought joy back to his life, to his otherwise broken self was now covered in sorrow. It pained him seeing her tears.

Thomas carefully asked her if she could share the reason for her crying, not to seem imposing after she calmed. Nodding her head, with a hoarse voice from all the crying, she explained everything from the beginning how she was bullied then a girl named Emma helped her and soon became friends.

How they enjoyed each other's company and visited homes, played together, ate together and more. As she shared their cherished memories, remembering them, the hurt was apparent on her face. Then she explained the betrayal of her friend leaving her broken.

After hearing her story his Uncle patted her back and encouraged her saying: Yves you are a good girl. You became friends with her and cherished her. She may not appreciate it now but in future she will regret losing you. She did what she did. Let it go. Forget it as a bad dream. You are a brave girl and a great friend. I know for sure you are going to make many more friends in the future.

They talked and played together for a while, when Yves dozed off slowly, tired from all the shock and crying. Thomas carried her to the bedroom and placed her on the bed and covered her with . Kissing her forehead, he uttered quietly: "I'll always be there for you and protect you as your Uncle." Switching off the light, he closed the door behind.
