Chapter 36: Consequences of your actions

The days that followed Moon's party were tense and full of expectations. The school, once a haven for inter-dojo rivalry, now became a minefield where any misstep could trigger an explosion.

News of Jack's betrayal spread like wildfire, fueling Tory's anger and Moon's pain. Sam, meanwhile, was drowning in a sea of guilt and confusion, while Robby struggled to understand what had happened and how to deal with the situation.

Tory, consumed by the need for revenge, devised a plan to expose Sam and Jack's betrayal in front of the entire school. She waited patiently for the last day of school of the week, her anxiety growing with each passing minute.

When the bell finally rang, Tory headed to the school radio studio, where the day's announcer, a distracted sophomore, was preparing for the breaking news. With one swift, decisive move, Tory snatched the microphone from the girl's hand, ignoring her protests.

"Attention, students of West Valley High!" she announced, her voice amplified by the speakers. "I have an important message to deliver, especially to Miss Samantha LaRusso."

The entire school stopped, their attention focused on the speakers. Sam, who was walking down the halls with Robby, felt her blood run cold. She knew Tory was talking about her, that the moment of truth had arrived.

"Samantha LaRusso, the Miyagi-Do saint, has a dirty secret," Tory continued, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "She's not as innocent as she seems. At Moon's party, she cheated on her boyfriend, Robby Keene, with Jack Sullivan, Moon's boyfriend."

A murmur ran through the school. Sam felt her face burn with embarrassment as Robby looked at her in disbelief and hurt. Jack, who was in the main hallway, felt the weight of guilt crush him. He knew the mess was just beginning.

"Samantha, you traitorous bitch!" Tory screamed, her voice echoing through the halls. "You will pay for what you did!"

At the same moment, chaos broke out. Students from Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do gathered in the hallway, forming a noisy, angry mass. Shoving, shouting, threats... The school was transformed into a battlefield.

Robby, blinded by rage, ran towards Tory to break up the fight, followed by Miguel, who was trying to stop him from doing something stupid.

Jack, seeing the commotion, tried to intervene. "Stop this!" he shouted, pushing his way through the crowd. "This is not going to lead to anything!"

But the moment Jack appeared, Robby, consumed with rage and jealousy, turned on him. "You!" he shouted, and in a fit of rage, he shoved Jack hard toward the stairs.

Jack, caught off guard, lost his balance and tumbled down the stairs, slamming violently against the steps. A scream of pain echoed through the hallway, followed by a shocked silence.

Everyone stopped in horror. Jack lay on the ground, motionless, his arm visibly broken. Blood was pouring from a cut on his forehead, and he groaned in pain, consciousness already fading.

Robby, seeing what he had done, felt panic overcome him. He had not wanted to hurt Jack, had no intention of causing so much damage. But the anger and pain of betrayal had blinded him, driving him to an act of violence he would never have imagined committing.

Without thinking twice, Robby ran away, fleeing the crime scene. He needed to get away, he needed to hide, he needed to think about what he had done.

Moon, seeing the violence escalate and Jack gravely injured, ran towards him, ignoring the scuffle around her. She knelt beside him, checking his injuries, her heart seized by a wave of panic and worry.

"Jack!" she screamed desperately. "Someone call an ambulance!"

The crowd dispersed, giving space for Moon and the other Cobra Kai students to help Jack. Miguel and Demetri approached, shocked by the scene.

"Is he okay?" Miguel asked, his voice shaking.

"I don't know," Moon replied, tears streaming down her face. "He broke his arm and he's unconscious."

Tory, seeing Jack lying motionless on the floor, felt remorse invade her. She didn't want this to happen, she didn't want to hurt Jack. He was her friend, her confidant, someone who held a special place in her heart, a feeling she had never dared to reveal.

Guilt gnawed at her insides, the memory of her revenge plan now seeming cruel and unnecessary. She knelt beside Moon, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm sorry, Moon," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't mean to hurt Jack."

Moon, still in shock, looked at Tory, surprised by her regret. She knew Tory had a temper, but she also knew that she was loyal to her friends.

"I know, Tory," Moon replied, her voice soft. "No one wanted this to happen."

Sam, paralyzed by guilt and fear, approached hesitantly. She watched Jack lying unconscious on the floor, his arm broken, and felt the responsibility for this tragedy crush her.

"Jack..." she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry."

Moon looked at Sam, the hurt and disappointment still present in her eyes. But she didn't say anything, just continued to watch over Jack, waiting for him to wake up.

The ambulance arrived, and Jack was taken to the hospital. Moon, Tory, Miguel, and Demetri accompanied him, worry and uncertainty hanging over them. Sam, left behind, felt more alone than ever.

At the hospital, doctors examined Jack and determined that he had broken his arm, but that it was not life-threatening. Relief washed over Moon, Tory, and their friends. They waited patiently for Jack to wake up, anxious to know how he was doing.

Meanwhile, Robby wandered the streets, running away from guilt and remorse. He didn't know where to go, or what to do. He had lost everything: his sensei, his girlfriend, his friend... And now, what was left for him?

The school, once a place of learning and coexistence, was now a stage for violence, betrayal and pain. The future was uncertain, and the fate of the characters was unknown.
