[17] A Foolishly Ordinary Daily Life

Chapter 17: A Foolishly Ordinary Daily Life

Divine Assembly.

A meeting held once a month where the gods come together in harmony and bestow a new title upon adventurers who have undergone [Rank Up].

Only deities who preside over a Familia with at least one Level 2 or higher adventurer are eligible to participate, and simply attending this assembly is enough to make one's name known throughout Orario.

"Alright then, let's get this divine assembly started once again! Your host for today is none other than Loki!"

"Ah, actually, today's meeting is the thirty thou—"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Who even keeps count of that?"

"Anyway, let's get started!"

""""Yaaaay!!""""

The gods seated around the round table cheered, signaling the official start of the assembly.

Some flipped through their documents while chatting, others quietly observed, and a few even whistled—each god's personality shining through in their own way.

But there was only one name everyone eagerly awaited.

A rookie who shattered Aiz Wallenstein's one-year [Rank Up] record by reaching LV.2 in just two months.

His achievements were beyond imagination—he had hunted 1,000 monsters in a single day in the Pantry.

The gods erupted in cheers.

It was already unbelievable for someone to reach LV.2 in just two months, but to top it off, he had slain 1,000 monsters in a single day with overwhelming prowess.

A thousand wasn't just a number—it was massive. Even if he took down one monster every three minutes without rest, that would be 3,000 minutes—equivalent to 50 hours, or nearly two full days.

The sheer scale of this monstrous feat left many gods thrilled and excited, eagerly awaiting his turn.

"…Well, let's be honest, we all know why we came to this assembly today," Loki chuckled, flipping through the documents.

"I'm the type who likes to start with the best parts first… so let's not waste any time! The most powerful rookie of the day is—!!"

...

"The fool has arrived!!"

"Honestly, hunting in the Pantry is straight-up insane."

"But that's exactly why it's so awe-inspiring!"

The titles bestowed at the Divine Assembly were usually either over-the-top and edgy or downright ridiculous.

However, if an adventurer managed to win the gods' favor—or better yet, bribe them—they could end up with a respectable name.

The rookie known as Luke Blade, who had given the gods plenty to talk about for a while, was someone they felt curiosity and admiration for rather than resentment.

"This guy's a pretty interesting one. I kinda want him for myself… but honestly, his personality just isn't my type."

That was the truth.

Loki had wanted Luke in her Familia not because he was a man, but because he was a reincarnator.

That alone was enough of a reason to try and recruit him. But with Susanoo's strong opposition—and Loki's own eventual agreement—they had abandoned the idea.

After observing Luke more closely, Loki had realized that his personality and mindset were twisted in some way. And with that realization, she gave up on the idea of bringing him into her ranks.

Still, a deal was a deal.

Loki was going to make sure Luke received a worthy title.

"He's a flashy one. If we ever manage to recruit him into our Familia, we should give him a cool title."

"Says who? He's joining our Familia. His bold personality suits us perfectly!"

"Enough of that—let's focus on picking his title. Since we're starting with him, why not put some real thought into it and come up with something fitting?"

"Considering his personality..."

"And reflecting his achievements..."

[Thousand Slayer]

Unanimously decided.

...

Loki relayed the results of the Divine Assembly to Susanoo, who had been unable to attend due to personal reasons.

"Ah, thanks. That's a relief. If possible, I'd rather not show my face in front of the other gods. If they recognize me, things will get unnecessarily troublesome."

"Got it. But more importantly, the promised reward! Our deal was that you'd tell me a story from another world, so keep your end of the bargain!"

"Alright then, this isn't about the world I was originally born in, but rather what happened when I moved to another world…"

With a grin, Susanoo kept his promise.

A tale from another world.

A story of a god who lost his power, left his realm, and settled in another world, living among beings that were not human.

The story of the first human to fall into a world devoid of humanity.

And how that human grew into a hero.

"…And so, in the end, he returned to his own world, bringing my story to a close. Well, that's it for today."

"That was amaaaaaazing!!"

"With reactions like that, telling stories is pretty fun. If you're satisfied, I think I'll take a break."

"There's more to the story, right? Guess that means I'll have to come back next time!"

"Let's take it slow. There are still plenty of stories left to tell—not just mine, but Luke's as well."

However, Luke's story was far more devoid of dreams or hope compared to Susanoo's.

Loki suddenly glanced around, as if searching for someone.

The [Susanoo Familia] home was eerily quiet—aside from the two of them, there was no sign of anyone else.

"Where'd the others go? The Dungeon?"

"Yeah. They decided to go as a full party today instead of splitting up. Riseria has grown enough to keep up with them now."

Though she didn't possess an accelerated growth ability, Riseria's status enhancement speed was still extraordinary, allowing her to rapidly improve.

Before long, she had reached a point where she could venture deeper into the upper floors with ease.

Her biggest weakness had always been confidence—but after finally gaining conviction and determination, the flower that had once struggled at its peak had finally begun to bloom.

"That kid is Riveria's little sister, huh? She's a beauty—but her chest brings me to tears."

"Are you seriously one to talk?"

"Hey, the Loki from your world has an even smaller chest than me, doesn't she?"

"No, you're exactly the same."

"For real?!"

"Yeah. Since he's a guy, he doesn't have a chest at all."

"So the me in that world is a man, huh… Wait, no—Kyaaaaaaa!!"

The agonized scream of a god who had transcended flatness into complete nothingness echoed throughout the Familia home.

Just another ordinary day.

...

Meanwhile, super OP invisible Luke let out a frustrated cry. His presence alone was so overwhelming that Infant Dragons and Orcs alike fled at the mere sight of him.

"Lili, charge your skills! Riseria, start chanting! I'll tank!"

"I have no idea what 'tanking' means, but I kinda get it!"

"I'm just an elf who chants magic all day! Damn it!!"

That first part was just a dumb joke.

Now that he had reached LV.2, he thought he'd be invincible in the upper floors—but that was a huge miscalculation.

Back when he was LV.1, killing 1,000 monsters had been purely a victory of sheer grit and determination.

But now, even at LV.2, fighting while protecting his teammates made handling just a few dozen monsters a real struggle.

If I were fighting alone, I wouldn't have to worry about my back and could just go all out. But with Lili, and especially Riseria, things were different.

Even though she had grown significantly thanks to her skills, Riseria was still an elf. Her racial traits made her ill-suited for frontline combat. As she continued to develop, she would inevitably lean towards a magic-based role, with warrior duties as a secondary function.

However, the one truly standing out was Lili.

"[A girl's happiness must be seized by her own hands]!"

With her exceptional agility, superior to any of her other stats, Lili dodged monsters effortlessly while chanting.

Her skill, [Will of the Weak], had a hidden effect—it granted her an unshakable focus, allowing her to chant spells in parallel while on the move.

"[The magical glass slippers that shine for the girl]!"

A surge of mana gathered around Lili's ankles, radiating light. It was as if she had slipped on invisible, enchanted shoes—her movements became even faster.

She wasn't fully developed yet, but once she activated her magic, Lili's speed rivaled that of a mid-to-high-level LV.1 adventurer.

"『Crystal Heel』! And I'll use another skill right away!"

And then, she activated [Weak Runner].

With all her stats—except endurance—poured into agility, Lili's speed doubled. Even if she got hit, it didn't matter—she had bet everything on pure speed.

Now, her speed slightly exceeded that of a top-tier LV.1 adventurer.

"Lili, just say that line for me once!"

"Huh?! Why did you even teach me something like that?! You're not even a god!"

"Because I wanted to hear it! And besides, it's a joke—part of a comedic bit!"

I yelled as I smashed an orc's face in.

Blushing furiously, Lili kicked an imp in the face mid-charge before finally muttering:

"Speed is weight. Have you ever been kicked at the speed of an LV.2?"

"Daaamn! That's my girl—so badass!"

"I'M NOT EVEN AT LV.2 YET! And I'm never saying that again—it's way too embarrassing!"

"It's not underwear, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about!"

"What are you even saying?!"

Looks like Lili's picked up a few bad habits from me. Now that she's aware of how cringe-worthy chuuni lines can be, I sometimes catch her kicking her blanket in embarrassment at night.

…Yeah, my bad. I messed up. I won't make her say stuff like that anymore.

Lili bounced across the battlefield like a skipping stone, dodging with incredible speed while landing precise, rapid kicks against the orcs in front of her.

But each impact she took gradually built up within her body.

Her other skill allowed her to store the damage she received—whether it was physical force or even magic—and then release it as amplified power.

…Well, I wasn't entirely sure about magic yet. We hadn't tested that part.

But one thing was clear: it drained her Mind heavily. Last time she used it, she collapsed immediately afterward. Even if she hadn't been fully prepared, it wasn't something she could use frequently.

"Lili!"

"Got it!"

Lili suddenly dashed away, dodging with expert timing. Looked like she had stored up enough energy.

As I reached out my hand, Lili jumped onto my palm, landing lightly. It wasn't the most stable position, but with her small frame and my LV.2 strength, we could pull off techniques that looked straight out of a circus act.

And then—just like a fastball in baseball—I threw Lili straight at the enemy!

"LV.2 strength plus LV.1 agility!"

"Theoretically, that makes me LV.3!"

On top of that, the rebound effect of 『Crystal Heel』 added even more force to the attack.

Spinning through the air, Lili extended her legs forward—was that a dropkick?! No…!

"RIDER KICK!!"

"That's my girl!"

"I-It's not like I actually like Kamen Rider or anything…! T-This is just a one-time thing!"

I had told Lili stories about Kamen Rider before—looks like it left an impression.

Lili's body tore through the orc's torso, then crushed two more monsters behind it, and even after that, she ricocheted off a Hard Armored monster, dealing the final blow with the sheer impact alone.

She's insane! My girl is OP as hell!!

"Riseria, is the magic ready?!"

"It's done—get out of the way!"

"Yaaaaay!!"

Lili and I quickly dodged, just in time as more monsters rushed in—but Riseria didn't even flinch.

Her chanting was already complete—the magic circles surrounding her made that clear.

"『Storm of Lightning』!"

"Here comes our magic instructor!"

"Shut up! You're the one who gave me the idea in the first place!"

Yeah, yeah. I had suggested a bunch of stuff when she was developing her spells because I wanted to see something straight out of a fantasy anime.

Looks like she actually pulled it off.

A lightning-infused beam of light cut across the dungeon.

A storm erupted, wiping out not only the monsters it touched but even those a bit further away, caught in its destructive wake.

Though the power was lower than the original version, once Riseria's magic stat and skill improved, it would likely reach its full potential.

"Holy crap! I never thought I'd see this in real life… I'm moved to tears."

"What's so great about this? Sure, your ideas helped with spell development, but I still don't like it."

"It's romance. The kind of dream that fuels a man's life."

"You're an idiot. So aside from my magic, what other 'romantic dreams' have you fulfilled?"

"This."

I kicked off the ground, leaping into the air—and then, while still airborne, I stepped again.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"It's called Moonwalk. One of the Six Powers. You can even fly with it."

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!"

"I already know my dad's an idiot, so nothing surprises me anymore."

"Wha—?! Lili just called me 'Dad'!"

"It was a mistake!"

"Wait, did you just accidentally call me Dad?"

"I bit my tongue, that's all!"

"Hachikujiiiii!! Say it again! Let me lick it! Let me touch it!"

"AHHHhH!!"

Lili bit me.

…Okay, yeah. That one was too much, even for me.
