Continuation Lucian's pov

I excused myself from Ace, my voice a little shakier than I intended. "I'll be right back," I said, standing up from the table.

Ace nodded, his eyes watching me with concern. "Is everything okay?" he asked.

I nodded, forcing a smile onto my face. "Yes, everything's fine. I just need to...powder my nose."

I turned and walked away, my heart racing with thoughts and emotions. I needed a minute to myself, to process everything that was happening.

I scanned the restaurant, looking for the restroom. I spotted a sign down a hallway and made my way towards it, my heels clicking on the marble floor.

As I walked, I couldn't shake the feeling that my life was about to change in ways I couldn't even imagine.

As I walked towards the restroom, my mind began to wander to my best friend, Jenny. I couldn't help but imagine how she would feel when she found out that her ex-lover, the man she had treated wrongly, was now a billionaire. The same billionaire she had been crushing on for years.

I cringed at the thought of how Jenny would react. She would be shocked, angry, and probably feel a little betrayed. I wouldn't blame her, either. She had confided in me about her past with Ace, and I knew how much she had hurt him.

But what really got me thinking was the fact that Ace had given me the job and introduced me to this lavish lifestyle. Was it all just a coincidence, or was there something more to it? Was he trying to prove his love to me, even before we had a chance to really get to know each other?

I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Ace's intentions than met the eye. And what about Jenny and Alicia? How would they react when they found out about Ace's true identity and his interest in me?

I'mI needed to calm down and think this through, but my mind was racing with questions and doubts. What had I gotten myself into?

As I stood in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but think about the complexity of the situation. Ace, the billionaire, was interested in me, but his past with Jenny made things complicated. And then there was the fact that he had given me the job and introduced me to this luxurious lifestyle.

I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing thoughts. I needed to focus on the present moment and not get too caught up in speculation.

As I splashed some water on my face, I heard the restroom door open behind me. I turned to see a woman walking in, but I didn't recognize her. She smiled politely and began to fix her makeup.

I turned back to the mirror, lost in my thoughts once again. I wondered what Ace was thinking, waiting for me back at the table. Was he expecting me to say yes to him? And what would happen if I did?

As I pondered these questions, the woman finished fixing her makeup and left the restroom. I was alone once again, with only my thoughts to keep me company.

I took a few more deep breaths, trying to calm my nerves. I couldn't shake off the feeling that Ace's words had left me with. Had he really been trying to confess his feelings to me? Or was I just reading too much into it?

I thought back to our conversation, replaying his words in my head. He had said that he was interested in me, that he wanted to get to know me better. But was that really a confession of feelings, or was it just a casual statement?

I felt a flutter in my chest as I wondered what Ace's true intentions were. Was he really interested in me, or was he just playing games?

I took one last look in the mirror, smoothing out my dress and taking a deep breath. It was time to face Ace and figure out what was really going on.

I walked out of the restroom, my heart pounding in my chest. Ace was standing by the table, sipping his drink and looking calm and collected.

As I approached, he looked up and smiled, his eyes locking onto mine. I felt a shiver run down my spine, and I knew that I was in for a wild ride.

Ace pov

I sat alone at the table, nursing my drink and lost in thought. I couldn't help but wonder what was going through Lucian's mind. Had I been too forward? Had I scared her off?

I glanced at my watch for what felt like the hundredth time. She had been gone for a while, and I was starting to get a little worried.

Just as I was about to get up and check on her, I saw Lucian walking out of the restroom. She looked a little more composed than when she had left, but I could still see a hint of uncertainty in her eyes.

I watched as she made her way back to the table, her eyes scanning the room as if searching for something. Or someone.

As she approached the table, I stood up, a smile on my face. "Everything okay?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

Lucian nodded, taking her seat. "Yeah, everything's fine. Sorry about that."

I sat back down, my eyes locked on hers. "No need to apologize," I said. "I'm just glad you're okay."

The conversation flowed easily from there, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted between us. Something that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

As we continued to talk, I couldn't help but notice the way Lucian's eyes sparkled in the dim light of the restaurant. She was laughing and smiling, and for a moment, I forgot about the uncertainty that had been plaguing me.

But as the night wore on, I couldn't shake the feeling that Lucian was still holding something back. She was being polite and friendly, but I could sense a distance between us.

I decided to take a chance and try to bridge the gap. "Lucian, can I ask you something?" I said, my voice low and serious.

She looked at me warily, but nodded. "Of course, what is it?"

I took a deep breath and leaned in, my eyes locked on hers. "What are you thinking?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Lucian's eyes flickered, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of something there. But then, her expression smoothed out, and she smiled politely. "I'm thinking that this is a lovely restaurant, and I'm glad we came," she said, her voice light and airy.

I felt a pang of disappointment, but I refused to give up. I knew that there was something more to Lucian, something that she was hiding beneath her polished exterior. And I was determined to find out what it was.

I smiled back at Lucian, trying not to show my disappointment. "Yes, it is a lovely restaurant," I said, taking a sip of my drink.

We continued to chat and laugh, but I couldn't shake the feeling that Lucian was still holding something back. I decided to try a different approach, to see if I could get her to open up to me.

"Lucian, can I ask you something else?" I said, my voice a little softer this time.

She looked at me warily, but nodded again. "What is it?"

I leaned in a little closer, my eyes locked on hers. "What do you think about me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Lucian's eyes flickered again, and this time, I saw a flash of surprise. She looked away, her cheeks flushing slightly.

"I...I don't know what you mean," she stammered.

I smiled, trying to put her at ease. "I think you do," I said, my voice low and gentle. "I think you're wondering what my intentions are, and whether you can trust me."

Lucian's eyes snapped back to mine, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of something there. Something that looked almost like...attraction.

But then, Lucian's expression smoothed out again, and she looked away, her cheeks still flushed. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said, her voice a little too casual.

I smiled to myself, intrigued by the game of cat and mouse we were playing. I knew that Lucian was interested in me, but she was too scared to admit it.

I decided to let the subject drop, for now. Instead, I steered the conversation back to safer topics, like work and hobbies.

As the night wore on, I couldn't help but notice the way Lucian laughed at my jokes, the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about something she was passionate about. I was drawn to her, more and more with every passing minute.

And I could sense that she was drawn to me, too. Despite her attempts to hide it, I could see the attraction in her eyes, the way she leaned in when I spoke.

It was only a matter of time before we both gave in to our desires. The question was, who would make the first move?
