Otto pointed towards the specific tree that Tim was on. Blood was spilled around the bottom of the tree, it was the blood of Tim.
"So much blood." Efe uttered in surprise. It was really rare for them to see such around the territory of the elves.
"Hurry we have to check it out." Marat yelled as she dashed towards the location of the tree, and the other members followed suit.
Getting there she traced where the blood was dripping slowly from and figured that it was coming from the very top of the tree.
Looking up at the tall tree, she finally spotted the source of the blood shed.
"There is a body up there." She said while trying her best to see if she could see the features of the body from the bottom of the tree.
"That should be impossible, this is still around the elves territory. How then could there be bloodshed around the territory.
Last time I checked, there were no wild beast roaming around this particular territory. The only beast that could be found around here are those that are in the dungeons that suddenly appear around this area." Efe said in confusion to what was happening.
"Whether it is impossible or not does not matter. There is a body that is hanging on the tree, we need to investigate it."
Turning to Gunt, the scout of the team. Marat instructed "Carefully help us bring the body down from the tree so we can further inspect it."
"Sure." He skillfully channeled mana to his feet and casted his favorite mobility spell, Light boots.
With graceful steps he lifted himself of the ground and he started to run gracefully on the tree as if it were to be the ground.
Getting to the very top of the tree, Gunt was visibly shocked by what he saw.
It was not a pleasant scene but he decided to overlook and perform his task. Now he needed to bring the body back down to the ground, it wasn't going to be easy but he prepared his mind as best as he could.
Lifting Tim's body carefully, he called out another spell, "Graceful Fall." Immediately he called out the spell, he leaped down.
Wind seemed to circle around Gunt as he fell slowly like a leaf that was falling from a tree. If a random person was witnessing the scene, he or she would think that Gunt was slowly descending via a rope, but that was not the case.
Gunt merely casted a wind spell through a short chant that sort of increased the wind resistance in h is fall, thereby making Gunt fall slowly as opposed to him crashing down instantly.
Gunt landed on the ground, just beside the small pool of Tim's own blood and drooped Tim on the ground.
The remaining group members that were waiting to see the source of the blood were all shocked when they saw Tim.
It was an elf. What was an elf doing alone and possibly dead outside the elven territory.
The group knew about the elven race. They were a very proud race that stood at the top of the food chain in the continent.
They also never moved alone, whenever they wanted to leave their territory they always moved in groups. They relied only on their race and had little relations with the other race that occupied their continent.
They were also known for their super regeneration and their great advancement in magic.
Seeing an elf alone and in danger was a thing that rarely happened, so the group seeing Tim with broken legs and a knife that was impaled in him left a bitter taste in their mouth.
"Gunt, please check around this area to see if there are other elves around." Otto instructed, thinking they would find the other group of elves that were moving together with Tim.
"No need. I will check it myself." Marat said, as her eyes suddenly lite up in a golden glow.
"World Life Glow." She called out.
Immediately a golden wave emanated from her being and spread out for 1 km. The wave kept reverberating for a while before it eventually stopped.
"There is no other living being within a 1 km radius if us apart from us 5." Marat said with a solemn expression.
"Does that mean that the elf is dead?" Efe asked with a worried look.
Marat nodded with worry visibly showing on her face and worry also grew on the other members face.
The elves were a proud race and they carried themselves with serious honor, but they never took the killing of their kind likely.
They were also a race that always took revenge too seriously. So Efe's worry was probably justified because what would happen to the group if it was to figured out that their group was in contact with the dead elf.
"What should we do know?" Lazar asked in fear. He was the last member of their group and he was the only member that had encountered elves previously.
"They have investigative spells that can pinpoint the last set of beings that were in contact with a specific member of their race. We cannot leave the body here." Lazar said hurriedly.
Already coming up with a way to salvage the situation.
"Relax Lazar. We did not kill the elf. We only found the elf dead, I am sure that if we take the body to the elven territory and speak truthfully of what happened, then we would have no reason to be in fear." Otto said trying to ease the situation.
"This is all my fault. I should have not urged that we look for the flower. If only I went to the market to buy the flower. I wouldn't have led us into this mess." Marat said tearfully.
"Listen we are not at wrong here, we did not kill the elf, let us just submit his body. There is no need to be scared" Otto said once again to the group trying to eliminate the rising panic within the group.
"We have to flee this scene with the body." Lazar said with a determined expression.
