Madam Collins got the shocked of her life as she asked her son if it was true but he was rendered speechless.
" it...s it's not true mom, she is lying" David cantered denying the fact that he conspired.
"you dare accuse my son, do you have evidence?" you should be ashamed of yourself you pretentious whore. If you know what is good for you stay away from my son or you're going to live a life you will regret with." madam Collins said stepping out of the house with her son.
Clementine looked puzzled. This is her father's house at least she could be here and think about meaning things to do with her life. Step by step she climbed the stairways but her father who just returned told her to go into her room and pack anything that has to do with her and leave his house.
Clementine in her surprised mood assumed her father is in the company of the mother and daughter. She never thought he would be this shady.
"Leave that to me honey, let me strip her off with everything your money got her." Marietta said touching the husband's hand."
"How despicable that she lost her first time to a stranger, what if he is an arm robber. Who is going to marry a poor woman with no innocence? such bad combination in a woman drives men away" Marietta added.
"Leave now, you have no shame. I'm cutting ties with you from now on" Her father said sharply and that made Veniel and her mother overjoyed.
Clementine looked at them, father, wife and daughter and she formed her palm into a fist. She really fall into their trap. They planned and succeeded.
One day she will make them pay for their wrong doings.
"You are no longer welcome in this house, everything we have done for you over the years will now be in your memory, leave and not come back" Maria said pushing her away.
Clementine held back herself from crying. She can't possibly appear weak before this people otherwise they would really deal with her the most.
"What have I really done? I have asked myself countless times but I can't figure out exactly where I flaws. Is it because my mother has a bigger share in the company and her share is been transferred to me? Even if it is about the share, Vaniel has too." Clementine asked hoping to know the truth.
"Because you are not Watson's biological daughter." Marietta replied and eyed her before drinking from her glass.
What else was Clementine waiting for? She turned her back and left. As she opened the door and stepped upon it,she turned back to look at the house that holds her tender age's memories.
Where her mother carried her, did her school task with her and played with her.
She let go of the door and it jammed hardly on its own accord. She walked briskly out of the compound and the tears she had been trying to hold back seemd as if they were let loose and it flowed down her cheeks uncontrollably.
Who would thought that her own father would be biased and this heartened. He cut ties with her and chased her out of her home. She wandered on the street and didn't know where to go.
The tears she has been holding up loosen and she let it dripped without control. Like a weaker vessel she cursed them promising herself to stay stronger, bolder and more confident.
Wondering in the whole city having no where to go, she drowned the more in tears.
Gallivanting on the pedestrian lane as a mad bitch, unbeknown to her she misses her lane causing a screeching car to a stop, the sport car pulled over and it's really Matthew, her childhood friend and sweetheart. She had crushed on him since their high school but fate had it tat they weren't meant for each other. Matthew was loving someone else and he still does.
"Clementine!!!" Matthew called holding her. That was when she noticed a lot of people staring at her. And quickly a car that has been following Matthew's zoomed off and the man in it gave them a killing look.
"What is your problem Clementine? Do you want to die? If I was a reckless driver like the man behind me you would have been dead by now." Matthew yelled at her looking at her closely. Her face was swollen and she looked pale.
"Thanks Matthew," Clementine said. She would have been dead if he was reckless.
Maybe it would have been better she died. She would have joined the ancestors and stopped worrying about her mother and all this mystery would be over. Matthew should have knocked her down rather than saving her.
Whispering from the passerbys was heard. Some cursing her and other pitying her as they walked away. Some cautioned her telling her if she's so desperate to die she should drown in the sea while some hissed disgustingly. Matthew held her hand taking her to his car.
"Where are you going Clementine let me give you a lift," Matthew asked. The last time he heard something about her was her engagement and her wedding is supposed to be in two weeks with some Collins's heir.
Why is looking so tattered and wretched? where is her fiance, sister and friend? She has a step sister Vaniel and a close friend Sarah if he could remember appropriately.
"Nowhere" she replied simply sobbing. She has lost everything, her home, her friendship, her fiance and her money. They tripped her of every dime she had.She has nowhere to go perhaps she will find an abandoned house to lay in at least for the night.
"What do you mean? I can send you to your home address if you wouldn't mind." She had been staying with her fiance. She equally has home in Watson's mansion.
"I don't have any home Matt. Leave me to roam around. Maybe lying a while ago would have solve everything." Clementine said amidst tears. The world is so cruel right now, she wished she would just end it. Matthew understood. Those mother and daughter had been a torn in her flesh since her tender age. Her engagement with the Collin's has been without her approval but she accepted to save her mother's company. The company her mother built from scratch but now nothing is left for her.
Matthew drove her slowly back to his house,he didn't ask her any further questions to avoid a break down. Matthew lived with his fiancee in his little house. Little because it's nothing compared to where she grew up.
Matthew's fiancee Evelyn saw him returned home with his friend after so many years. She hugged Matthew warmly and welcomed Clementine but seeing her countenance she didn't proceed to ask.
Evelyn entertained her without any I'll intentions, She had known them way too long to be friends. Clementine ate hurriedly as she has been starving and took her bath. Evelyn assured her she could occupy the guestroom as long as she wishes to stay in their little house.
Clementine Watson couldn't believe she could receive such hospitality from an old friend's fiancee. Her friend is really lucky. An old friend has definitely become her family and her family has become enemy to her. An irony of life.
Four days have passed and Clementine's getting aligned with Evelyn. Her jokes and easy going life is superb. Upon cracking jokes and making her lively no one have crossed the boundary of asking her what really happened until after a week she decided to willingly talk about it. Clementine ceased the opportunity to ask her in the presence of Matt, she has become fun of her this past days that she wished to know what transpired.
