Chapter 32: Uranus

[3rd POV]

When it came to the Wandering Star of Predation, Velber, Ares, of course, knew what it was.

After all, not long after arriving in this world, Prometheus told him they had shattered Earth's original divinities.

However, in Ares' memory, the one that contributed to the decline of divine influence on Earth should have been the giant god Attila, known as "Velber 02."

Furthermore, the spaceship carrying the giant god Attila should have crashed onto the moon.

So, what exactly was happening with this "Velber 03" in front of him? And more importantly, was the alien inside still alive?

After some careful thought, Ares felt a bit better, and parallel worlds existed in this vast universe.

The history of Velber 02 that he knew about is just one version of many in these parallel worlds.

In some parallel worlds, a heroic figure like Gilgamesh can easily defeat and win Heracles, but in other worlds, Gilgamesh might get completely beaten up by a different version of Heracles.

So, Velber 03 may have also fallen to Earth in this world, only to be defeated like a "Holy Sword Master."

However, if this "Velber 03" was indeed the "Hope" that Athena was searching for, then it made sense. After all, when faced with Velber, even the mighty Zeus, the King of Gods, wouldn't really stand a chance.

Ares was somewhat unsure about how Athena intended to use Velber 03.

Athena definitely wouldn't allow a piece on her chessboard to be out of her control, but Ares knew Athena couldn't directly control Velber 03.

As an ordinary person, Ares knew when to admit he didn't understand something.

He wasn't the type to pretend to know everything and without hesitation, Ares shared the information with Hecate, and asked, "Teacher, what do you think?"

After a moment of deep thought, the Hecate replied, "I don't know much about hunting aliens either. How about this: I'll teach you a spell, and you can share your vision."

"Alright."

The spell Hecate taught was simple enough for Ares to learn quickly, given his current abilities.

As soon as she finished, Ares mastered the small incantation and linked his vision with hers.

Once they shared the view of his other body, Ares immediately took control of it and cautiously started exploring the broken spaceship, entering it through the crack.

"I've heard that the origin of our gods comes from the sky, Uranus."

Hecate said, her voice calm as she followed Ares through the spaceship.

"Since he descended from the sky, Uranus is also called the God of the Sky. Zeus's father, Kronos, claimed to be the son of Uranus and Gaia, and his claim to the throne comes from the fact that he killed his father and usurped the throne. However, you and I know that 'Gaia' doesn't really exist, or rather, it's just this planet itself. To such an existence, Kronos didn't care at all. That's why those of us who study magic have started questioning whether this 'Uranus' is even real."

Looking at the worn-out pipes inside the spaceship, Hecate said seriously, "Now it seems that the so-called 'Uranus' might actually exist, after all."

"You mean to say that this spaceship is 'Uranus'... at least something that belongs to Uranus?"

Ares asked as he walked.

"It's very likely."

Hecate confirmed Aries's guess.

"In fact, in my research, I've found that the aspects of our divine nature work don't align with the laws of Earth at all. Some parts feel as if they've been forcibly inserted into this world."

As she spoke, Ares had already followed the spaceship's hull into a huge space inside. His gaze casually scanned the patterns on the floor and walls of the metal room.

When he passed over a wall covered in strange, divine writing, Hecate suddenly whispered, "Stop."

Hearing this, Aries immediately stopped and focused on the wall with strange writing. Just like the writing outside, Ares could understand these words as well.

The writing explained that the name of this spaceship was "Uranus," originating from a place whose name had been forgotten by time.

However, the ship had suffered a bit of bad luck on its journey to Earth. It ended up crashing head-on with a fragment of a spaceship, "Velber 03," which was carrying an alien sent out to hunt other planets to routinely purge intelligent life.

The two ships fought a huge battle in outer space.

Since Velber 03 had not fully awakened, the spaceship 'Uranus' managed to crash into it and fall together into the deep ocean on Earth.

As the spaceship sensed its end, its system, "Uranus," made a decision. It began to disassemble its own and merged itself with the local planet.

The planet Gaia accepted "Uranus" and turned the twelve life forms it had separated into gods for that region.

These twelve lifeforms that were separated from the system became Machine Gods Twelve Titans.

But over time, the Twelve Titans continued to reproduce, and by the third generation of gods, Hecate, Zeus, and the gods' bodies had evolved more like humanoids.

Their personalities, emotions, souls, and desires became much closer to Earth's life forms.

On the other hand, Hecate seemed to understand the meaning of the writing, too.

After reading it, she sighed and said, "It's just like a prophecy. Who would've thought our guess would turn out to be true?"

"But it doesn't really matter."

Aries said, "The important thing is what Athena wants inside."

"I haven't seen anything really valuable yet."

Hecate replied, "Let's keep searching."

Ares continues searching the spaceship.

The core of Uranus had already been separated and turned into the Twelve Titans, who Zeus now imprisoned in the Bronze Prison of Tartarus.

There wasn't much left on the spaceship.

After checking out Uranus, Ares jumped out from a gap in the ship, officially entering where the body of the Harvest Star, "Velber 03."

Unlike the "Uranus" spaceship, which looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, the Wandering Star of Predation spaceship was far more terrifying.

However, its interior resembled an ancient stone chamber, with dark red, strange patterns glowing on the stone walls.

In the center of the stone chamber, a broken dark red cube was covered in straight, box-like patterns.

It was about the same shape as "Velber 03," just smaller. In front of this cube, there was a giant, about sixteen meters tall, lying quietly.

The nose of the "Uranus" spaceship pierced Velber's chest, and it had already lost its life.

...

Summary: Uranus is a Machine God looking to extract the necessary resources for the continuity of his civilization. However, Uranus encountered Velber, forcing them to collide and fall on Earth. After sensing Uranus' ending, it dismantles itself, senses the planet's will, or Gaia, and manages to assimilate with the Earth, creating twelve titans. As Titans reproduce, their descendants evolve and become similar life forms on Earth.
