Some of the other teams who were following Damien and his family stayed with the injured people. Meanwhile, Damien was once again heading towards Glenbarrow with his family.
Jasmine saw Arthur massaging his forehead and smiled. Leaning forward, she touched his head and began ruffling his hair, as her hand glowed with a light green glow.
"There, there. How is it now?"
"Never been any better," Arthur chuckled, letting her play with his hair.
Just like that, the car finally reached the periphery of Glenbarrow as they entered through a giant gate on tall walls. Farmlands passed by on both sides of the road. They could see farmers tending to their clear fields, as the harvesting season had just passed and now it was time to sow crops again.
Soon, they entered the bustling City as Damien looked at the two- and three-story buildings, made with the latest technology. Unfortunately, they didn't enter the main city as they took a different route towards a hill in the distance upon which a magnificent castle sat.
The cars stopped before the castle's entrance gate, as an old man with a pot belly, bald head, and a chubby face walked towards them with a group of servants. He was accompanied by his family, including two sons, his wife, and his grandson.
"Welcome, welcome, Lord Arthur!" the old man said, full of smiles, as he greeted them.
Damien just watched everything, uninterested in these formal settings. He just turned off his mind, as he went through the formalities without paying much attention. His mind was instead on the things he needed to do in this city.
'She should be here somewhere, I'll have to look for her though.'
After everything was done, they were invited into the castle that was built after the early twenty-first-century technology of Earth. Damien always found it weird how this world was advanced and simultaneously backwards.
'What were the developers thinking?'
Damien had absolutely no interest in their talk and had other important things to do. So, he stood up and asked Arthur, "Dad, it's my first time here in Glenbarrow so can I go and check it out?"
"Kids these really don't want to stay in one place," Arthur chuckled softly and said. "Alright. Take Ely with you and Diluc can accompany you for your safety."
"Eh?" Damien looked at Elise, who was more than ready to jump out of the castle, and sighed. Nodding, he said, "Fine, but she will have to listen to everything I say."
"She will," Jasmine smiled at Elise and asked. "You will listen to your brother, right, dear?"
Elise wanted to protest but stopped when she saw her mother's smile. She hurriedly nodded like a little duck and said, "I promise."
"Good. Brother Diluc, please take care of them," Jasmine said, as the young man bowed towards her.
"How about you let Simon show you around?" Randy, the City Lord, said. "He knows the city very well."
Simon was his second child, a young man in his early twenties with a deep black mustache on his bald head. Damien didn't comment on his fashion sense and simply nodded, sensing the familiarity with that name.
'Simon, huh. I guess you will be helpful with this.' Damien smiled subtly and said, "I am grateful for that."
As he watched the kids go along with the two young men, Randy chuckled and said, "Young Master has matured quite early. You are really lucky, My Lord."
Jasmine's eyes dropped slightly upon hearing that, but she quickly adjusted her face, saying, "He is sensible, but I also hope he enjoys his childhood."
Meanwhile, Damien was walking down the hill along with others. Beside him, Elise asked, "Bro, do we really need to walk?"
"Yes, what's the point of just looking outside through the car?" Damien said with a nod.
"Where would Young Master like to visit first?" Simon asked, stroking his moustache. "There are some good places you will definitely like."
"Thank you, Mr. Simon, but I want to see the market and the people of this city," Damien smiled lightly. "I have read about the farmers a lot so I would like to meet them myself."
"Of course, of course. You will also rule them one day, after all," Simon laughed, hiding his mocking smirk from Diluc.
In just a few minutes, they crossed other districts and reached the market, which was as crowded as always. After all, it had many villages and towns under it, and people came from afar to buy things here.
Rows of small, independent stores and vendor carts lined the market square. It buzzed with noise, as vendors shouted to attract customers, while people bargained for the right prices.
Smelling the fresh scent of vendor foods, Damien smiled as it reminded him of his last life. This was so familiar.
Of course, there were better marketplaces here where the shops were suited for people with more money and status, but that wasn't where Damien would find his target.
"Young Master, are you sure you want to check things here?" Simon asked, confused. "There are better stores and restaurants, and even arcades in other districts. I'm sure you will love the game there."
"It's fine. I like this atmosphere too," Damien said and ignored Simon, who covered his nose with a handkerchief.
"Bro, they are selling samosas, let's go," Elise giggled in excitement and began to drag Damien towards a street shop selling freshly made samosas.
'This world will never stop surprising me. Now even Indian street food is here,' Damien shook his head as he let his sister drag him. He wasn't surprised since he had read about the geography and the culture of other Domains.
The developers had made the various domains based on Earth's culture, but he never explored the cultural side that much. Only after getting here did he study those things and was surprised to see how deeply the cultures had blended in.
Blazing Feather Domain, the domain in which the Lionheart Kingdom was located, was a mixture of every culture as many people had migrated here. After many civil wars, the Lionheart Kingdom was established, being the carrier of all those cultures.
So, it wasn't a surprise to see such a change here. As he was enjoying the crispy snack, he caught some movement at the corner of his eyes and found a hooded girl running towards him. Her short, blonde hair was visible even from under her hoodie.
'Finally, she's here. How lucky, now I don't have to search for her.' Damien smiled, as he turned his gaze towards Diluc, who had a slight frown on his face. He gestured to him by shaking his head, telling him to stay put.
He pretended to be oblivious to her movements, even when she was almost upon him. In fact, to assist her, he even put his wallet in his hand and waited.
In the next moment, his hand was empty as Diluc continued to follow the girl with his gaze but didn't do anything, waiting for further orders.
"She stole your wallet! What are you doing?" Elise exclaimed, quickly catching the girl's figure running past her. She also ran after her, shouting, "Diluc, catch her."
"Yes, we should also hurry. I have important things in that wallet," Damien said, as Diluc hoisted him onto his shoulder and did the same with Elise.
Then, under Simon's surprised gaze, he began to chase after the girl, as he maneuvered through the crowd easily. He could have caught the girl in a second, but his Young Master wanted something different.
