"You don't get it, do you?" Dean's voice was a low growl, his breath hot against her ear as he shoved her into the cold brick wall. "I don't save people, Ada. I ruin them. But you… you're already ruined, aren't you?" In the neon-drenched underworld of New York City, ADA is a waitress who has nothing left to lose. Her brother's gambling debts have drawn her into a world of danger, and now the mafia owns her life. But then DEAN, a lethally charismatic enforcer with a penchant for brutality, comes into her life, and everything changes. You think you can walk away from me?" Dean's lips curled into a sneer, his fingers tracing the curve of her jaw. "You're mine now. Every breath you take, every move you make—it's because I allow you.". Their desire is electric, a deadly dance of lust and power. Dean is everything she should be afraid of—ruthless, calculating, and cold—but the flame in his eyes ignites something primal in Ada. He's her tormentor and her protector, a man who demands everything and gives nothing in return. As Ada gets deeper into a web of violence, betrayal, and forbidden passion, she discovers that Dean's dark past is the same as her own. They both live in a world where loyalty lasts only for a while, trust can kill you, and love is the most dangerous game of all. "You want to play with fire, sweetheart?" Dean's voice was a threatening purr as he leaned, his lips skimming hers. "Be careful. I'll burn you up.". Neon Shadows is a searing, heart-pounding romance where peril and passion collide. In a city where the risk is life and death, Ada and Dean must decide if their love is worth the blood it will cost. Will they rise from the ashes, or will their fixation annihilate them both?
whatttttttttt!!! is this story turning my day off. l love you lyon
Dean. Just Dean. Oh. My. God. The way he was introduced in this chapter 4 was pure perfection. From the moment he casually helped Ada enter the club to his quiet, observant nature, I knew he was going to be a force to be reckoned with. His perspective added a whole new level of intrigue—seeing Ada through his eyes, feeling his controlled yet simmering rage, and realizing that he was more dangerous than anyone else in that club. The moment he saw Ada being attacked, I literally cheered when he stood up and stormed out of his private booth. This chapter was thrilling, and I am OBSESSED with Dean already.
Chapter 3 was absolutely gut-wrenching. I felt Ada’s pain and fear so intensely. The betrayal by Stephen was infuriating—how could he do that to his own sister?! The writing is so powerful; I was right there with Ada, feeling the dread creep in as she realized what was happening. The villains were terrifying, especially the tattooed man and his disgusting smirk. The tension was almost unbearable, and I was holding my breath the whole time. The way the author makes us connect with Ada’s emotions is incredible. This is storytelling at its finest—raw, gripping, and full of suspense!
Wow, this chapter really took the tension up a notch! Ada’s excitement about finally having enough money, only for her brother to ruin everything, made my heart ache for her. Stephen is such a frustrating character, and yet I can feel Ada’s love for him despite his recklessness. The way the author builds suspense—starting with the uneasy phone call to Ada’s realization that something is very wrong—was masterful. The descriptions of the club, the intimidating bouncers, and the high-class atmosphere contrasted so well with Ada’s struggles. And then that cliffhanger? Now I HAVE to keep reading!
Okay, I’m in LOVE with this story! This chapter 6 was just as intense as the last one, but what really stood out to me was the way the tension between Dean and Ada deepened. Dean is possessive, dangerous, and yet so strangely protective of her. The moment when he asked if Stephen really valued her the way she valued him? That hit hard. And then Ada breaking down in his arms?? My heart just melted. The emotional weight of this chapter was incredible. The author does an amazing job balancing action, tension, and raw emotion. I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite reads!
