The Game of Survival

"Where am I?"

I asked, despite already knowing the answer. Sometimes, to confuse the enemy, you must first confuse yourself. They didn't need to know that I was already aware of them or of what their futures held.

Although they held no real combat power against me, they could still serve their purpose.

And as for these creatures zombies, I suppose? Well, since no proper name has been assigned to them yet, that will do for now.

Puff, puff.

Without hesitation, I created ten clones, sending six to scout out the six closest captives, while the remaining four were tasked with clearing the building. Whether it was zombies or useful resources books, equipment I would have it all.

The clones moved swiftly, each one appearing behind their targets. A kunai was pressed to their throats before they could react. "Move, and you die," they were told coldly.

Shock and fear painted their faces. Some couldn't decide which was more terrifying the clones themselves, the speed with which they'd been captured, or the brutal efficiency with which the zombies were dealt with in mere moments.

Ah, so fragile, these humans.

I raised an eyebrow, letting the silence stretch, before asking again.

"Where am I?"

The girl with glasses, if I remember correctly her name is Saya, trembling, barely above a whisper, spoke.

"Fujimi Academy."

Her voice, laced with fear, sent a thrill through me.

As it should be.

"Academy… hmmm, is this a test? These creatures seem human, but… mutated." My eyes flicked to the bodies around us, observing them with careful scrutiny.

Before Saya could respond, the orange-haired one spoke. Or should I say shouted. "This is not a test. They died."

I cut her off before she could continue, my voice smooth, almost mocking.

"So, isn't it normal to die to kill in a test? ...Oh, my apologies. I forgot each world has its own rules."

The words hung in the air, and I saw their eyes widen, the realization setting in. They understood the key point.

I was not from this world.

"Tell me about this world, about yourself, and about the situation." I asked with a smile, one that sent a chill through the group.

"Are you from another world, like... isekai?" Kohato asked, gathering all his courage.

"Of course I am," I replied . "Now, start answering before it's too late."

Saya spoke up first, detailing the present situation and the breakout, her voice shaky but clear. As she spoke, I could see the wheels turning in everyone's minds, processing the situation at an alarming speed.

My gaze shifted to Shizuka, who seemed to flicker for a moment; those few seconds of hesitation revealed more to me than she likely realized. I could read her, not just through her actions but through the subtle signs.

Going down, bigger than Tsunada, this thought came to my mind immediately.

I didn't stare much; I moved my eyes on each as Saya tells everything.

"So, basically, some hours ago, all this started everywhere in this world," I concluded Saya's speech.

"Hmm, now that I know what I can from you and can check afterwards, tell me what use you all have."

Panic flashed across their faces. Saya immediately spoke, "We can tell you more. We... we can help you settle..."

I countered her, saying, "Who said anything about settling? I will leave when the correct time comes."

"You can travel in the multiverse," Kohata muttered, his words unintentionally pushing Saya to glare at him.

Their lives were on the line, and he was excited about someone's ability who might kill them.

"Though I am in a good mood, I will not kill everyone," I said with a smile, letting them know that someone might still die.

"I am not a psychopath who will let you choose who should die," I continued, pulling out sticks from my pocket.

I showed them, "See, one side of these is colored blue or red, and the other side is white."

"I will take a blue and a red stick, and you have to choose one of them."

"Everyone who selects red will live."

"You're a psychopath," they all wanted to shout, but nobody dared to.

"If everyone selects red, will you let everyone go?" Takashi asked, disbelief clear in his voice a reaction I would have shared if I were in his place.

"Of course," I replied. "Anyone who picks red will leave this place alive."

"So let's start the game"
