The Aegis Latens (Hidden Protector)

Aegis Latens(The Hidden Protector) was a secret organization founded by Luden to protect the balance of the world. Unlike kingdoms or religious institutions, it did not seek power, wealth, or worship. Instead, it operated silently and unseen, ensuring that the world remained in harmony with the natural and spiritual forces that governed existence.

It was formed for the sole purpose to protect the Earth

The Formation of Aegis Latens

As Luden's teachings spread, he foresaw that knowledge alone was not enough to preserve balance. The world had seen civilizations rise and fall, and he knew that if humanity was left to its own devices, history would repeat itself. There would always be those who sought to exploit wisdom for control, war, or immortality.

Thus, he created Aegis Latens, a hidden order that would guide the world without ruling it. He selected ten members, each chosen for their unique understanding of nature, knowledge, and the unseen forces of the world.

The Ten Members of Aegis Latens

Aegis Latens was structured around ten individuals, each with a specific duty:

The Three Keepers of Well-being

These three were tasked with preserving the harmony of nature and life itself. They were healers, nurturers, and sages who understood the delicate relationship between man and the natural world.

The Keeper of Earth tended to the land, ensuring that nature thrived. He understood the cycles of growth and decay, the unseen rhythms of the soil, the balance between harvest and preservation. It was his duty to guide farmers, herbalists, and healers, ensuring that mankind took only what was needed and gave back in turn.

The Keeper of Life was the guardian of health, entrusted with the secrets of healing and longevity. She was the bridge between man and the unseen spirits of the world, understanding that true wellness came not just from herbs and medicine, but from harmony with the world itself.

The Keeper of Spirits spoke with the unseen—those who resided in the trees, the waters, and the winds. He listened to the Umang-lai, relaying their wisdom to those who needed it. He was a guide for those who sought enlightenment, ensuring that the bond between mortals and the spirit world was never severed.

These three, though dedicated to the preservation of life, were also the first to understand the cost of maintaining balance. They knew that healing could not exist without pain, that growth required sacrifice, and that even life itself was part of a greater cycle.

The Six Keepers of Knowledge and Protection

Beyond the caretakers of well-being, Aegis Latens needed those who would watch over the unseen—the forces that shaped history, knowledge, and destiny itself.

The Keeper of the Sky studied the movements of the heavens, charting the stars, the passage of time, and the hidden patterns within the cosmos. He believed that the world above was a reflection of the world below, that through understanding the skies, one could foresee the shifts in fate itself.

The Keeper of the Word was the preserver of knowledge. She recorded Luden's teachings, ensuring that his wisdom would never be lost to time. But her role was not simply to write—she decided what knowledge was too dangerous to be known, sealing away texts that could threaten the balance if they fell into the wrong hands.

The Keeper of Shadows was entrusted with the world's hidden dangers. He was not a man of peace, but a guardian of secrets, a silent observer who ensured that those who sought to destroy balance were stopped before they could act. His existence was known to only a few, for even within the House, there were secrets too dangerous to share.

The Keeper of Blood understood the inevitability of conflict. While the House sought balance, there would always be those who rejected it. His task was to study the nature of war, to ensure that no ruler could twist Luden's teachings into a weapon. He was the closest thing the House had to a warrior, yet he never raised a blade without reason.

The Keeper of the Forgotten watched over the ruins of the past—temples lost to time, civilizations that had fallen long before Luden's arrival. He alone understood that the world had seen balance before—and lost it. His role was to ensure that history did not repeat itself.

The Keeper of Fate was the most enigmatic of all. He did not seek knowledge, nor did he protect life. He simply observed. He understood that not all things could be controlled, that fate was as much a force as balance itself. He was the one who watched for the signs of great change—the one who would know when the House was needed most.

Each of these six had their own burdens, but together, they ensured that the world's unseen forces remained in harmony.

The Tenth Member—Larz

But among these ten, there was one whose role was unlike any other.

Larz was not a scholar, nor a healer, nor a guardian of history. His duty was far greater—he was the keeper of the Overworld's gate.Luden had entrusted him with the greatest secret of all, a task that not even the other members of Aegis Latens fully understood. He alone stood between mankind and a realm that was never meant to be touched. To guard the gate was to bear an eternal burden. He was not allowed to share its secrets, nor could he seek aid in times of doubt. He was alone in his duty, just as Luden had once been.

And Larz knew that someday, the world would test him.

Someday, someone would try to open the gate.

And when that day came, Larz would have to decide: would he remain the guardian that Luden had trusted him to be, or would he succumb to the whispers of the unknown?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He did so in secrecy. No one knew who its members were. No one knew who was joining or how many had been chosen. Even within the order, the disciples worked in separation, each entrusted with a fragment of the greater purpose, ensuring that no single person could betray the whole.

Luden did this not out of distrust but out of protection. He knew that the world would never fully accept balance. Kings would seek to control it. Scholars would try to understand it. And those who lusted for power would attempt to exploit it. If Aegis Latens was ever exposed, it would not be destroyed by war or conflict, but by the greed of those who wished to wield it.

The ten members of the order were his best disciples, handpicked for their wisdom, understanding, and loyalty to balance. But their names were never spoken outside the sacred halls where they received their guidance. They existed as shadows, their work influencing the world in ways that could never be traced back to them.

Only one member's name was ever known to history—Larz, the first disciple, the one entrusted with the greatest burden of all: the gate to the Overworld. But even he did not know the full extent of who walked alongside him.

Luden had ensured that no one—not even himself—could ever reveal the full truth of Aegis Latens. For balance could not be preserved by those who sought recognition. It could only be protected by those willing to be forgotten.

And those who had claimed to be the member of Aegis Latens dies due to unnatural cause

They feared that Aegis Latens would become a threat to the world so , later on Luden made everyone forget about Aegis Latens , and those who remember it became a fool to the society
