[ Kenna ]

Geoffrey's gaze was set on Kenna, while Natsu stood next to her in disbelief.

The committee members behind were in shock, many protesting loudly as she stood there, afraid.

Geoffrey internally sighed, the situation had gotten out of hand but it set multiple things straight.

He now had a much clearer idea of how the committee operated. He didn't completely dislike how they worked, and in their position he would've done something similar.

He also got to see multiple faces, he wouldn't forget them.

The main problem was that Natsu tried to turn himself into a martyr, and while it'd fix the situation now it might bite back down the line.

The committee was clearly larger than he anticipated, and more proactive than he'd imagined.

Natsu would, with no doubt, take a beatdown to protect his group which would boost their morale.

They could grow bolder or wilder. To avoid this, Kenna would make a great target.

It's simply logical.

True, she looked more frail and afraid than most of them, but she was still one of them. In a moral standpoint, how she looks doesn't impact the weight of her actions.

If things were going through, then Kenna getting beaten up would make things a lot more favorable.

True, they would most likely look for revenge, but they would proceed a lot more carefully, and not as boldly. Especially if they knew he wouldn't stand down, no matter who the opponent was, even if it was a girl that looked harmless.

"You don't have to-" started Natsu.

Light flashed before Geoffrey eyes, so quickly he could barely react.

His eyes followed the flash as it crossed his field of vision, a yellow lightening describing a quick horizontal line.

He came out of nowhere.

Jet appeared, kicking Natsu sideways and sending him rolling to the ground.

Natsu rolled a few times before coming to a stop.

"Don't worry guys, I'm here! I've been watching, and it seems the tides turned!" said Jet, brightly smiling.

Really?

The members of the committee all took a step forward, but Natsu quickly brought his hand up in a defensive manner, telling them to stay back.

"Yeah. Have fun," said Natsu, smiling.

Jet laughed, lightning flickering through his arms and legs, as if unable to hold them back.

He disappeared again, kicking Natsu down one more time.

This time, however, he chained the attacks. He disappeared, and reappeared on the opposite sides, ready to catch him as he arrived with another attack.

He could be heard chuckling as he went berserk on Natsu.

Geoffrey loudly sighed, nodding at Levi who let go Nora.

She quickly ran back toward the committee, joined by Kenna.

Levi slowly made his way to Geoffrey, watching the scene unfold as Jet seemed to have the time of his life.

"Well, that settles that," let out Levi.

"Yeah."

"This might be a better outcome," he said.

"Who knows. He waited for his opportunity to get back at the committee, I guess this was it."

Levi nose exhaled, as he quietly chuckled next to Geoffrey.

They watched as Jet pummeled Natsu repeatedly, the committee members sending death stares their way.

"Do you think they'll mess with us again?" asked Levi.

"Yeah."

"Hm. Well, as long as I'm around, I doubt they'll try anything similar."

"I believe they'll come in more subtle ways, from now on."

"What's their purpose, even?" asked Levi. "I thought after this Leo incident they would be helping us."

"I thought too, but Natsu seems to be an adept at clouding the waters. Everything he told me had some truth to it, but there was a lot of deceit as well."

Levi looked at Geoffrey, his expressionless eyes watching the scene unfold before them.

"And you could tell for the same reason you could figure out my real gift?" said Levi.

"Yeah."

Natsu was a piece of work.

He triggered Geoffrey's gift at weird timings, and from what he could tell, there was a lot of truth to everything he said back at their headquarters.

But the smoke doesn't lie, he could see through his deceptive words thanks to Death's gift, yet one thought remained: who sent the attackers?

Natsu's previous deception was something he was sure of, but what he said seemed to be true. He didn't know about the initial attack.

Was it just poor timing?

"Alright Jet, this is enough," said Geoffrey.

Jet had no limiter, pummeling Natsu without any care in the world. If it wasn't for Geoffrey's words, he would've simply kept going.

The state he was in, however, was a horrible one. His face was distorted, his eyelid dark blue, his lip busted and blood dripping down from his forehead.

"Really? But we need to teach them a lesson. They need to know they can't mess with you, Geoffrey! We should deal with all of them!"

As he said that, they all took a fighting stance, frowning.

"So now that you've treated the president as punching bag, 'an eye for an eye' doesn't hold up anymore, huh?" said one of them.

"We're done here," said Geoffrey.

Jet, who was jumping in place, jittery to fight some more, stopped.

"Aww! Really? Well, personally, my 'eye for eye' isn't over! This was Geoffrey's eye! We still have things to straighten out, Nora!" said Jet.

Ehhh.

Geoffrey started walking, heading away from the dorms.

Jet, puzzled, turned around.

"Uhh, the dorms are the other way," he said.

"They're expecting me, since I've broken the rules by attacking Emilia, as witnessed by almost everyone."

"What? You're still going there? Oh man... that'll be awkward..." chuckled Jet.

Levi walked behind Geoffrey following him as they both slowly made their way to school, walking through a night they would've rather slept through.

Jet stayed behind a moment, doing repeated arc with his head as he looked at the committee who gathered around Natsu, and Geoffrey who was walking away.

"Alright! Wait! I'm coming with! You never know, they might try something! And if they do, then I can give Nora some preemptive eye for eye..."

Geoffrey rolled his eyes, too tired to even answer Jet's statement.
