Rina's whole body froze as the demon approached. Its footsteps sounded like the drums of death.
She couldn't even scream or move. Her body refused to move, frozen by fear and helplessness.
The demon grabbed her plump torso using two of its four clawed hands that were covered in blood.
Rina struggled to breathe as the demon raised her up, her feet leaving the ground and her face slowly neared the demon's wide mouth full of terrifying teeth and forked tongue.
Rina thought of her 6 year old daughter and her husband in which seemed like her last moments. She didn't want to die, not like this.
She mustered all the courage she could and spat at the demon's face as her last struggle.
But the demon was unfazed, it didn't seem to care about the struggles of the weak creature in front of it. A wicked smile never leaved his face as it tried to devour her.
But at the last moment,... Hope .....it finally arrived for her. It was in the form of a sword which appeared from the demon's chest pearcing its heart and flesh with a sickening crunch.
Rina's face lit up from joy and hope because she knew whose sword it was. She had seen that sword many times in the past.
The owner of the sword was the best warrior of her village. The father of her daughter and her dear husband who had gone to city for something important had finally arrived.
She knew how strong her husband was, so she was certain they would be saved.
The demon's grip on her body loosed and she fell down but her husband caught her in just time.
The demon's body swayed a little and it fell on the ground with a thud. And just like that, the demon that had destroyed their months of hard work in just one night... died.
Seeing its lifeless corpse the villagers regained their courage. They ran towards the brave warrior who had saved their lives.
But the warrior sensed something very wrong, something ominous. He didn't know what it was but he could sense it,the danger wasn't gone yet.
His mind raced trying to figure out the source of danger ...then he saw it... from the corner of his eye he saw the demon which should have been dead ..... stirring.
"Stop!" He yelled at the villagers.
The villagers didn't know why he was telling them to stop but they did as told because they trusted and respected him.
The warrior faced towards the demon's corpse which started was rising slowly. He was sure he pierced its heart so he couldn't understand why wasn't it dead yet.
The demon slowly rose on its feet like a lifeless jombie. Its eyes were still closed and it didn't seem to be breathing.
"Just die you bastard" warrior said furiously as he realized the destruction the foul demon had caused.
The warrior didn't miss a single second as he lunged at the demon with the sword on his hands. He moved in terrifying speed, his body a blur as he moved.
One strike--- one strike of his sword was all it took and the demon's head fell to the ground with a thud.
The demon's head rolled on the bloody ground . The warrior finally heaved a sigh of relief and turned towards his beautiful wife.
But that very moment....
He had let his guard down for just a moment but that was all it took for it to happen. It was something the villagers, Rina would never be able to forget. It would forever be etched into their very soul.
The demon or rather its severed head opened it's eye. It wasn't the right eye nor the left one. It was on his forehead, between both eyes..... there was a third eye.
And now it was open.
No one knew what it did and how it did.But what happened after that can only be described as true horror.
The moment it opened its third eye, an utterly wrong energy enveloped them and a cursed mark appeared on the severed head of the demon.
Its body..... Corpse slowly started turning into ashes along with the warrior's who had killed it as well as four other villagers.
In the span of moments five people they dearly cherished turned to ash in front of their very eyes.
Silence, that's all there was for a while. No one spoke, their mind failing to comprehend what had happened, refusing to accept the cruel reality which was laid bare in front of their eyes.
Just like that, in just a seconds, the dreadful demon took their strongest warrior as well as others with it.
Everything happened so fast that they couldn't even think, their breath stuck in their throat and a suffocating lump appeard in their heart.
They just stood there, their eyes filled to the brim with tears that weren't stopping. They cried, screamed but nothing changed. The cruel reality was unchanging.
But that wasn't all, their despair had just begun. Just a few days later when they hadn't even property recovered from their grief when another tragedy struck.
The villagers started getting sick.
The sickness spread like wildfire. One by one all the villagers started getting sick. The villagers didn't have any money, whatever they had had been spent.
With no one to hunt for food and earn money, the villagers slowly started dying. Some from sickness and some from hunger.
A few days later the youth that had gone to city to study returned. His name was Mohan and he was a kindhearted child.
He desperately tried to save the dying villagers but even him could do nothing. Saying he would gather money and get help he returned to the city but the villagers knew there was no hope for them now.
But they wrong because there was hope after all. In a week the the youth returned and he brought hope with him.
The hope... It was God's miracle itself.
Now Six months later, back to the present,
Rina finished cooking meals for her and her daughter so she went out to bring her daughter back home.
Her daughter was sitting on a bench near the place where a beautiful temple had just been built. Rina slowly approached her daughter. When she saw her daughter looking at the temple she couldn't help but smile slightly.
She also looked at the temple and clasping her hands together she prayed.
" The God of Miracles
The one with otherworldly knowledge
The great Vasudev
I pray to you"
From the moment they received lord Vasudev's blessing their life had changed drastically for the better. So, whenever Rina prayed , a beautiful smile would miraculously appear on her extremely cute face.
