The Wedding Preparation

Two weeks have passed now, and the wedding preparation has started already.

Aurora agreed to get married to Liam as his looks already smote her.

On the other hand, Lisa remained tense about Aurora marrying Liam because she had heard about him from Andrew, her lover.

But then Aurora's mind was already made up, and she wouldn't stop squealing with excitement, waiting patiently for the wedding day.

"You look worried.

Are you okay?" Andrew asked, grabbing Lisa's hand.

"Of course, I'm fine." She said, trying to mask the worried look on her face.

"It's obvious you are lying to me. We have been together for three years now, and I know everything about you; you are worried about something."

His gaze was fixed on hers, worry written all over him as he hoped she would open up.

"Well, I'm worried about Aurora. She is getting married," she said, her eyes widening in surprise.

"Are you serious here? Aurora is getting married?" He asked in ecstasy.

Lisa nodded in agreement, and a huge sigh escaped her lips.

"It's a good thing she is getting married. Why are you bothered about it when you should be happy for her?" Andrew asked, looking confused.

"I'm worried about her groom,

I don't think she could cope if she had someone that important as her groom."

"Who is the groom? And how would someone like Aurora meet someone very important when she is just a lady with an average background?" He asked.

As far as he knows, Aurora is Lisa's best friend, still struggling with life. He knows she has had numerous part-time jobs to keep up with life, so having someone important that Lisa exaggerated is something he doesn't understand.

He was also worried about Liam's bride-to-be. No one knew who the girl was, and the older man wouldn't reveal her to the family; they only knew about the anonymous bride: that she was an orphan.

Liam's mother believes that the girl agreed to the marriage because her grandfather was sick and probably needed money for treatment so that the girl might be a gold digger.

But she was sure the older man wouldn't let his grandson get married to any lady. He surely had something planned, but no one knew what it was.

"She is getting married to Liam Stone, your cousin."

The glass in his hands slipped off immediately as he stared at Lisa in shock.

"What, Liam, are you talking about?"

"Liam Stone? My cousin? How is that possible? How did someone like Aurora know him?"

Lisa sighed heavily. She had promised not to reveal Aurora's personality to anyone because that's what she wanted, so she had to keep her promise.

"How they met isn't important; what is important is that Liam is the groom, and you told me once that he had a lover somewhere." She said.

"Well, I heard about his lover from him, and from the look of things, he is still into the girl, but I don't understand the connection between these two people. How did they meet?"

Who would have thought the bride he was trying to find out about was Aurora, Lisa's best friend?

"I have no idea, but the marriage seems urgent, and she is in love as it is; she won't listen to me no matter how I try to talk her out of it."

Andrew shook impatiently at the chair he was seated in. He was not comfortable, and this news had ruined their afternoon date.

He bought the restaurant off, hoping to have a pleasant time with his girlfriend, but he needed to see things himself.

"I have to leave now, Lisa; it's quite urgent," he said, getting up.

"But we just got here." Lisa protested.

"I know. Let's meet up some other time. Please take care of yourself," Andrew said, leaving hurriedly.

"What do you mean he is getting married to a random girl?" William asked, staring at his grandson in shock.

William is Thomas's half-brother and Andrew's grandfather.

"Yes, Liam is marrying Lisa's best friend, Aurora. I heard that from Lisa and rushed down here to inform you."

"What do you think he is up to?" Andrew asked.

William furrowed his brows in confusion. Thomas was filled with surprises, and it was still surprising that he made it big while he had to eat under him.

The fact alone made him angry, and he was hell-bent on bringing his family down, which was more ready. He made Andrew come to his side and was glad he had trained him well since his parents were late.

He made Andrew believe that his parent's death was because Thomas had refused to help him when he needed urgent need for money when his daughter was in the hospital bed.

Andrew carried that same hatred in his mind and decided to do everything to bring Thomas and his entire family down.

He would pretend to be a fool while he gathered important information about them and try to use it to bring them down.

"Why would Thomas want his grandson to get married to a random girl?"

"I think there's more to this; he has a plan for his sleeve."

"What do we do, grandfather? Do we sit back?"

"No, we won't just sit back and do nothing; we will retaliate. We have to do things on a low level because we can't afford to destroy the things we have planned."

"You are right, grandfather, so what do we do from now? How do we go about this?"

"I want you to investigate this girl first. Let's know who she is and why Thomas wants her for his son. Once we know that, we can make a proper plan."

"But the marriage is just a week from now, and there's nothing much to know about Aurora; she is just an average girl trying to make a living."

Andrew shrugged.

"You can't just judge; just do what I ask of you, and let's see where all this will lead you."
