Chapter 73 The Sea, Land, and Sky Tribes in the Era of Peace

"Use Thunderbolt!" Ron shouted through a megaphone.

Groudon roared, unleashing a powerful electric current toward the enormous beast in the ocean. That beast was none other than Kyogre, known as the Emperor of the Sea. Kyogre calmly swept up huge waves and countered Groudon's Thunderbolt with its own Thunderbolt attack.

The Groudon and Kyogre on both sides cheered enthusiastically, while several young Rayquaza in the sky watched the competition curiously.

Ron had been here for nearly two weeks now and gradually adapted to the environment. The father of the young Celebi—the captured Celebi—had already left to seek help from their clan, leaving only Ron and his six Pokémon behind.

Watching the ongoing battle between Groudon and Kyogre, Ron knew it was merely a friendly spar between their two clans. That's right—two entire clans. Actually, upon looking up and seeing several young Rayquaza in the sky, Ron realized it was the three clans of sea, land, and sky.

He had no idea how far back in time this was. Ron had encountered some primitive humans here, but communication was impossible due to language differences, forcing him to stay in Groudon's territory. Shortly afterward, he encountered the clans of Groudon, Kyogre, and occasionally the Rayquaza, who observed from above.

Here, the legendary fierce battle between Groudon and Kyogre had not occurred yet, and it turned out they were not solitary beings but clans, groups of primal Groudon and Kyogre.

As for why, in the future, only one from each tribe remained and why they lost their primal state, Ron had no idea.

Ron had also seen various other Pokémon here, each astonishingly massive, their bodies bearing peculiar patterns similar to the giant Gengar and Alakazam that Ash and his friends discovered in the Kanto region.

Initially, Ron thought about capturing some, believing they would be impressive back home. However, both his Ultra Balls and Heavy Balls had shattered, making it impossible to capture them. Thus, he reluctantly abandoned the idea.

With nothing much to do, Ron began teaching moves to Groudon using his Technical Machines, trading this knowledge for rare medicinal herbs from the Groudon clan. His days became comfortable and carefree. His only regret was not bringing Greninja along, as learning directly from Kyogre would have undoubtedly benefited a Water-type Pokémon immensely.

After the sparring between the younger Groudon and Kyogre ended, Ron jumped down from a rock onto a Groudon's head and said, "Let's head back."

The leading Groudon nodded and led the clan back to a volcanic rock region. Upon arrival, Ron effortlessly jumped down from Groudon's head, marveling at how powerful his body had become—jumping from five meters high with no trouble or shock absorption needed.

He looked up, carefully observing Groudon. Groudon was essentially a dinosaur-like Pokémon, covered in red, segmented armor-like skin. The underside of its body was gray, with large spikes protruding from its head, torso, and tail. Each hand had four claws, and its tail ended with four bulldozer-like teeth. Each foot had three claws, marked by gray patterns. Within the seams of Groudon's skin were blue spikes that became visible when it gathered power.

Primal Groudon had an "Ω" symbol at the base of its arms, a pattern that would later appear on the Red Orb.

Ron returned to his makeshift dwelling, lying down on a pile of grass. Although the three clans were peaceful now, with history as a reference, who knew when conflict might erupt?

He turned around, noticing the sky had already darkened. Using the occasional bursts of volcanic flames for light, Ron glanced at the three Pokémon eggs in his grass bed. Each was enormous—at least three times larger than ordinary Pokémon eggs. These were gifts from the three clans: Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza.

He had convinced them by telling them that, in the future, only one member from each of their clans would remain, with all others disappearing—whether dying or leaving this world, he wasn't certain.

Ron wanted to try taking these three eggs back to his own time. Although the three clans had doubts about Ron's story, they still entrusted him with their eggs. However, they had sealed the eggs with their original power, which required the corresponding Pokémon in his own timeline—Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza—to unseal them.

In other words, Ron would have to seek help from his timeline's Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza to unlock the eggs. If Ron had told the truth, bringing new members to the future would be beneficial. But if he lied, the three clans had already arranged with Celebi's clan to bring back both the eggs and Ron, who would face the wrath of all three clans.

Ron didn't mind since he had only concealed the future battle between Groudon and Kyogre and hadn't lied about anything else.

Regarding the Celebi clan of this era, Ron had also visited them. They explained that they couldn't pinpoint Ron's exact original timeline and that only the Celebi from that specific timeline could bring him back safely. If the current-era Celebi attempted to return him, he might be thrown into an entirely different time again.

Early the next morning, after absorbing the power of the herbs provided by the Groudon clan, Ron nodded in satisfaction, seeing his Strength and Constitution both at a hundred. He decided to test himself against Pheromosa.

He was instantly beaten badly by Pheromosa. Rubbing his sore body afterward, Ron muttered, "Not bad, I've finally reached Ash's level of durability, where I can take Thunderbolts directly and still be fine."

Looking at his double-hundred stats, Ron wanted to cry. Only after reaching a hundred in Strength and Constitution had he barely reached Ash's level. That guy was definitely cheating! And Professor Oak, casually testing Pokémon moves and still surviving to his current age, probably had terrifyingly abnormal strength too.

In the blink of an eye, another half month passed. A time tunnel finally opened before Ron.

Seeing sixty or seventy Celebi flying out, Ron couldn't help but marvel at the strength of the Celebi clan. No other legendary Pokémon clan could compete in sheer numbers.

The young Celebi finally reunited with its parents. Though Ron was curious about how Celebi—being genderless—could reproduce and how the young Celebi distinguished its parents, he wisely kept those questions to himself.

He carefully placed the three Pokémon eggs in his backpack, said farewell to the three clans who came to see him off, and stepped back into the time tunnel.

Inside the time tunnel, a Celebi appeared at intervals to guide Ron and the other Celebi, eventually returning them safely to the present timeline.

The group of Celebi stared briefly at Ron, then returned to the time tunnel, disappearing again. Looking at the young Celebi perched on his shoulder, Ron asked, "So, does this mean I passed?"

The young Celebi irritably rolled its eyes, patted Ron's face a few times, and chirped. Its meaning was clear: Hurry up and find a populated area to check how much time had deviated from their original point.

Ron chuckled softly and swiftly walked out of Ilex Forest. Noticing that Pryce's forces and machines were no longer there, he guessed that a significant amount of time must have passed.
