Chapter 92: Zeraora
A few days later, Ron and his group took a break at a Pokémon Center near some ruins. Through Nurse Joy's introduction, they learned about the place.
These ruins were originally called the Giant Wood Civilization. Due to excessive deforestation, the area lost its vitality and turned into a desert rocky land. It is said to be a civilization that worshiped Qwilfish.
Ron obtained a Wish Voucher issued by the League here. The Wish Voucher was entirely green and had a paper-like texture. Ron instructed Ruby and Rosa to stay here and not wander off while he tested the Wish Voucher.
Although Ruby and Rosa were curious about what Ron wanted to wish for, they respected his privacy and didn't ask much. They just reminded him to come back quickly after trying it out.
Ron left all his Pokémon with Nurse Joy for recovery, taking only Togepi with him. He found a rock wall away from the Pokémon Center, gently patted Togepi's head, and said, "I hope you can share some good luck with me."
With that, Ron pulled a marker from his backpack and carefully wrote on the Wish Voucher: "I hope my luck improves from now on!"
As soon as he finished the last stroke, the Wish Voucher floated into the air and turned into scattered starlight before dissipating. A strange power filled Ron's body. Taking a deep breath, he said, "System, do a tenfold diamond draw for me, continuously!"
"Ding! Tenfold draw initiated," the system announced.
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining: one Ice Stone, two Dawn Stones, one Dusk Stone, a superior Sunkern, a superior Steelix, a top-notch Patrat, a top-notch Shroomish, and 20 Ultra Balls."
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining: one Treasure Finder, one Skull Fossil..."
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining..."
"Ding! Congratulations..."
One draw per second, 60 times per minute. Six hundred items appeared in front of Ron and filled his backpack. Upon tallying, there were 267 superior Pokémon and 93 top-notch Pokémon. The Poké Balls came in sets of ten, totaling 30 sets. The evolution stones were complete sets, with 120 stones of various kinds.
There were also miscellaneous items, mostly clothing and tools, including a Super Rod.
But what made Ron almost jump for joy was the ordinary-looking Poké Ball in his hand.
Thunderclap Pokémon — Zeraora!
Zeraora is also considered a mythical Pokémon, but Ron remembered it from a movie before he transmigrated. He wasn't sure about the details, so he checked the system's data.
Pokémon: Zeraora
Level: 0
Gender: Genderless
Height: 150 cm
Weight: 44.5 kg
Ability: Volt Absorb
Moves: Scratch, Quick Attack
Ron was dumbfounded. He shouted, "System! This is what you give me?! Where's the mythical power?! Where's the unbeatable strength?!"
"Ding! Zeraora resembles a bipedal feline. It can release massive electric currents from its paw pads, generating powerful magnetic fields. These fields allow it to levitate and move at high speeds. It's said its top speed rivals that of a falling thunderbolt. Unlike other Electric-type Pokémon, it doesn't have internal organs to generate electricity but can store and use electricity absorbed from the environment. When using large amounts of electricity, its fur stands on end."
"I didn't ask for an introduction!" Ron roared. "What about its level?! Its essential power?! You're just giving me a starter like Mewtwo!"
"Ding! Mythical Pokémon must be personally trained by the host. If the system provided you with a fully realized mythical Pokémon, you wouldn't be able to control it, and it might turn against you. Besides, this outcome was the result of using external forces to interfere with the system's draw. Getting a mythical Pokémon is already quite fortunate."
Ron felt like crying. Each tenfold draw cost 1,000 diamonds. Sixty draws meant 60,000 diamonds. Saying he wasn't heartbroken would be a lie, but he also felt slightly scammed by the system.
From a rational perspective, spending 60,000 diamonds to get so many items was a huge gain.
Ron released Zeraora, marveling at how cool it looked. He also realized that he didn't have an Electric-type Pokémon on his main team, so Zeraora filled that gap perfectly.
"Hello there, little one," Ron said, patting Zeraora's head.
The Pokémon provided by the system indeed had high initial friendship. Zeraora squinted and enjoyed Ron's touch like a cat.
Ron destroyed the ordinary Poké Ball and transferred Zeraora to an Ultra Ball, which it entered without resistance.
He then examined the pile of Poké Balls, picking and choosing. There were many top-notch Pokémon he liked, but Ron wasn't planning to keep all of them. His main team was gradually taking shape, so he needed to consider team composition. He would only keep Pokémon that surpassed his current team's potential.
"A shiny Metagross, I must have this one," Ron said. Steven's Metagross had left a deep impression on him. Subconsciously, he had always wanted one, and now that he finally got one, he wouldn't pass it up.
"It's a pity there's no top-notch Riolu or Lucario. There are a few superior ones, but they aren't worth training. This Treecko and Torchic are good; I'll keep them," Ron murmured as he picked through the Pokémon.
After making his choices, the rest of the Poké Balls were instantly teleported back to his ranch. Looking at the now-empty ground, Ron couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of technology. Without teleportation, moving these Poké Balls one by one would have been exhausting.
The four Pokémon Ron kept were the shiny Metagross, Treecko, Torchic, and a male Kirlia. He planned to evolve Kirlia into Gallade, as he wasn't interested in a cross-dressing Pokémon. Besides, he already had powerful Psychic-types.
With Mewtwo, Celebi, and Solgaleo covering the Psychic type, he really wasn't lacking in powerful Psychic Pokémon. But a versatile Pokémon like Gallade, capable of both ranged and melee combat, was worth cultivating.
Blaziken with Speed Boost was also worth training. As for Treecko, Ron valued its Unburden ability, which doubled its speed when it lost its held item. With this ability, Treecko could surpass his current fastest attacker, Pheromosa. With plenty of Black Iron Balls at his disposal, Ron could throw one for explosive damage, double his speed, and quickly sweep his opponent. Perfect!
Ron replaced the ordinary Poké Balls with Ultra Balls and carefully placed them in his backpack. Holding Togepi, he returned to the Pokémon Center.
Ruby and Rosa didn't ask any questions. They simply said that the Pokémon had recovered and that they were ready to set off.
Ron nodded, entrusted Nurse Joy to send a large bag of items back to Pallet Town, and arranged for Chansey at home to take care of his new Pokémon. He temporarily sent back Gyarados and replaced it with Zeraora.
