Chapter 110: Birth of Rayquaza, Ron's Backing
Actually, since meeting Ruby, Ron had been waiting for this day. Ruby appeared, defeated a wild Dragonite when she was young, traveled a thousand miles to the Hoenn region, and everything matched the scenes in the comics.
In the comic, after Ruby defeats a wild Dragonite, it wreaks havoc in the Green Ridge Universe Center, accidentally releasing Rayquaza, which was being used for research. Following that, Ruby sets off to capture the escaping Rayquaza. After a thorough investigation of Rayquaza's movements in the Green Ridge Universe Center, Ruby discovers that Rayquaza isn't roaming the ozone layer, but instead sleeping at the top of the Sky Pillar.
This is the storyline from the comic, so if there are any Legendary Pokémon that the League can't control, the three Legendary Pokémon of the sea, land, and sky in Hoenn are definite candidates, and Rayquaza will never reconcile with the League.
After all, being a Legendary Pokémon captured by the League for research is a shame. After learning this, Ron decided to cooperate with Rayquaza. Moreover, given the League's ability to capture Rayquaza, Ron knew that without his powers fully developed, he absolutely could not offend the League. Otherwise, with the strength of his Legendary Pokémon still too weak, the League could easily find ways to deal with Ron.
However, it's hard to speak out now. With the full power of the bond, Ron connected with Rayquaza, and through heart-to-heart communication, Ron and Rayquaza reached an understanding.
"Hey, hey, Ron, is Rayquaza with you?!" Gold's voice came through on the phone. "What's going on?!"
"It's nothing, by the way, thanks for your help. After this, you can go directly to the breeding house to select top-tier Pokémon. As for the other two eggs, just leave them at my estate. That's all, I'll hang up now." Ron said.
After hanging up the phone, Ron smiled. Two top-tier Pokémon exchanged for Rayquaza's backing, and with the Rayquaza egg now unsealed, it was a great deal!
Rayquaza nodded at Ron, handing over the Pokémon egg. With a soft call, Rayquaza soared into the air and left.
"Rayquaza, it's really so cool!" Ron said, watching Rayquaza fly away.
Rayquaza is a flying dragon, mostly green with red-edged, rudder-like side wings beneath its shoulders and body. At the tip of its tail, there are similar fins. Its body is surrounded by yellow circular patterns, with one on its head as well. It has two limbs, each with three-clawed arms.
On its head, there are two long, flat horn-like structures, with two smaller horns beneath them. Rayquaza has prominent gums, and at the tip of its upper snout, two sharp fangs are visible, while its other teeth appear completely covered by its gum tissue. It has small yellow eyes with black pupils, resembling Kyogre and Groudon.
"Phew, is it finally gone?" Rosa sighed only after Rayquaza disappeared. "Such an overwhelming pressure, I couldn't even dare to breathe deeply in front of it."
"Is this Rayquaza?" Ruby's eyes sparkled. "So powerful and elegant. It's exactly the Legendary Pokémon I've always dreamed of!"
Ron smiled but didn't speak. Though he and Rayquaza had reached an understanding, it wasn't enough. The power of just Rayquaza alone was limited, and it wasn't enough to challenge the League yet.
Ron knew that only when they reached the Hoenn region and brought Groudon and Kyogre into the mix, and with the condition of Lugia, plus Mewtwo and the Legendary Pokémon in his possession, he would be able to challenge the League directly.
Ron hoped that Team Magma and Team Aqua would wake up Groudon and Kyogre soon. The earlier they woke up, the sooner Ron would have the strength to challenge the League.
While thinking this, Ron's Pokémon egg in his hand began to shake slightly, followed by a strong white light.
"What's this?! Is it about to hatch?!" Rosa shouted.
Without Rosa's reminder, Ron already knew the egg was about to hatch. The white light gradually faded, and a small Rayquaza appeared in Ron's arms. The little guy curiously blinked its eyes at Ron and then stuck out its tongue to lick his face.
Its body, just over a meter long, coiled around Ron's left arm like a snake, pushing Celebi off Ron's left shoulder and claiming his left shoulder as its own. Celebi helplessly patted the little Rayquaza's head before flying to Ron's right shoulder.
Ron happily patted the little Rayquaza's head, feeling in a great mood.
Pokémon: Rayquaza (Pseudo-Legendary)
Level: 0
Gender: Genderless
Height: 110 cm
Weight: 30 kg
Ability: Air Lock
Move: Twister
Indeed, it's in its infancy stage. A fully-grown Rayquaza would normally reach a length of seven meters and weigh 206.5 kg. For now, Ron can hold it, but once it grows, it will be a massive powerhouse.
Hmm. It seems like I need to contact Fatty. After all, with Groudon, Kyogre, and the three behemoths, the cost of feeding them will likely be astronomical.
Rosa and Ruby were also excitedly patting the little Rayquaza, as they didn't dare to provoke the grown-up Rayquaza. The little one looked so cute that they just had to touch it while they could.
Ron noticed that after the incident with the tablet, the system now provided standard strength levels for Legendary Pokémon. This little Rayquaza had already comprehended its origins at birth and had pseudo-Legendary strength, unlike Zeraora, which had to comprehend its origins after being drawn by the system before it could ascend to pseudo-Legendary status.
However, the road ahead was still long. Only when the origin power is fully mastered will it officially ascend to a Legendary Pokémon and reach the strength of a tier 3 Legendary.
"System, give me the Dragon Pulse TMs. You can take the diamonds yourself." Ron said.
"Ding. The Dragon Pulse TM has been placed in your backpack." The system replied.
"Ding. System reminder: The young Rayquaza cannot achieve Mega Evolution by learning Dragon Pulse at this stage." The system reminded.
"Why?" Ron asked.
"Ding. Rayquaza has a special organ called the Emperor Organ. It can store energy from meteorites it instinctively eats in the atmosphere. When Rayquaza undergoes Mega Evolution, the Emperor Organ serves as a connection point for Rayquaza's Mega Stone and Key Stone, completing the Mega Evolution." The system answered.
"Can it provide meteorites?" Ron asked.
"Ding. Rayquaza consumes water and other particles from the atmosphere, and it instinctively eats meteorites from the ozone layer. The best nutrients are the space dust left behind by tiny meteors after they undergo metamorphosis." The system said.
"Uh, that sounds a bit too extreme…" Ron muttered to the system.
"Ding. Would you like to know about the tail of a Farfetch'd or a Slowpoke?" The system responded.
"Uh, system, you've gone off track!" Ron sighed in despair. "Wasn't this supposed to be a kid-friendly show?"
As Ron took the sparkling space dust from his backpack, Rayquaza immediately dove into the bag and began munching on the dust. After eating a third of the bag, little Rayquaza lay contentedly on Ron's shoulder and fell asleep.
"Eats and then sleeps… really like a pig." Ron complained.
He took out an Ultra Ball and caught little Rayquaza, who obediently was caught without breaking the ball.
