Chapter 24 Sending a Letter

Immediately, Wang Defa's happy family flashed before his eyes. His loving wife and his two obedient children.

There was nothing more important than his family.

Just give him the silver coin. Consider it a loss on his part.

"Okay, I understand."

Wang Defa silently left the warehouse and closed the door for Qin Siyang by the way.

Qin Siyang then opened the [Godslayer Camp] forum and the [Sequence Education] forum, looking up the knowledge he wanted to know.

Since this was likely to be his last visit here to look up information in the near future, he checked everything in detail.

For some more complicated matters, he even used the pen and paper in the warehouse to write them down, in case there were any errors in his memory and he made a big mistake.

By the time Qin Siyang left the warehouse, it was already midnight.

The internet café had long been closed, and Wang Defa had already gone home.

After locking the door of the warehouse, he confirmed that there was no one around and quickly ran back home.

"I really had a fruitful day today."

After taking a cold shower, he lay on the bed, looking at the notes he had taken, and said sincerely.

"I'll be busy for the next few days."

At around six o'clock the next morning, after getting up and packing his things, he covered his face with his collar and put on a large hat. After making sure that no one could recognize him, he went out.

He didn't go to school directly. Instead, he first went to a grocery store and spent one copper coin on two envelopes, a piece of writing paper, and a worn-out pencil. Then he asked the store owner to put one envelope and the writing paper inside the other envelope.

Although the store owner didn't know why Qin Siyang wanted to do this, he still followed his instructions.

Holding the envelope, according to the map route he had checked last night, Qin Siyang walked to the police station which was a thirty-minute walk from the school.

Since it was still early, there were only two police officers standing guard outside the police station. The gate was always half-open, and there were not many people going in and out.

He took a look around and confirmed that there was a public mailbox in front of the police station, and then he smiled slightly.

After that, he went around to the alley beside the police station.

There were many homeless people here. Most of them were those who, after graduating from high school and entering society, couldn't find a job smoothly in this poor area on the edge of the safe zone.

In order to make a living, they sold the houses allocated by the United Government and thus became homeless people on the street.

Where there were homeless people, there were naturally their homeless children.

Many homeless people, in order to avoid being burdened by their children, abandoned them and went to other places to seek opportunities.

So, Qin Siyang also saw several homeless orphans here.

This made him feel that the background of his rebirth wasn't the worst.

At least he could go to school and have food to eat. Unlike the children in this alley, they lost all hope as soon as they were born.

Although he felt pity, he could only sigh helplessly, as he didn't have the power to change all this.

Qin Siyang walked along the dim alley and stopped in front of the youngest-looking orphan.

"Can you read?" The child's face was covered in dust. He was nibbling on his blackened fingernails and looking at Qin Siyang curiously with his big eyes.

But Qin Siyang's entire face was hidden in the shadows, and the child couldn't see anything.

Qin Siyang asked again, "Can you read?"

The child shook his head.

"Okay."

Qin Siyang handed the envelope to him.

"Open this envelope."

Although the child didn't understand, he still did as he was told.

"Take out the envelope, the pen, and the paper inside."

When the child took out the pen and paper, he picked up a stick and found a patch of soft and wet mud.

"You copy the patterns I draw on the ground with this stick and write them on the writing paper."

Qin Siyang wrote two characters. The child looked at them for a long time but didn't quite understand what they meant.

"Just copy them."

The child grabbed the pencil and began to draw on the writing paper following Qin Siyang's characters.

After the child finished drawing, he looked up again, his innocent big eyes looking at Qin Siyang.

"Very good. Put this writing paper in the envelope you just took out."

Hearing Qin Siyang's praise, the child smiled shyly.

"Then write these characters I wrote on the envelope."

After the child obediently did as he was told, Qin Siyang nodded.

"You're so great! Can you help me put this envelope into the big box at the entrance of the police station?"

The child was a bit confused. Qin Siyang erased the marks he had just drawn on the ground, threw the stick into the depths of the alley, and then said, "Come with me."

Qin Siyang led him out of the alley and they saw the brightly lit police station.

"Do you see that big blue box?"

The child nodded.

"Help me put this letter in it, okay? You're so capable, you can definitely do it!"

When the child saw the police station, for some reason, he was a bit scared.

"No... no..."

The child's eyes showed great resistance, as if he had suffered some hardships at the hands of the police officers.

"If you help me put it in, I'll give you something delicious."

As he said this, Qin Siyang opened the lunch box in his bag, revealing the thousand-foot mushroom rice.

When the child saw the food, his eyes lit up immediately.

"It's a deal..."

"Okay, I won't go back on my word. I'll wait for you here."

The child gritted his teeth, as if he had made a great determination. Looking at the mailbox of the police station, he gritted his teeth and ran towards it with all his might.

Qin Siyang watched as the child put the letter into the mailbox and then ran back.

The child was out of breath and stammered, "The food..."

"You're amazing!"

Qin Siyang smiled and handed the lunch box to him.

The child immediately wolfed down the food.

Qin Siyang watched as the child finished eating and then put away the lunch box. "Was it delicious?"

The child nodded with a smile.

"If it was delicious, I'll bring you some more next time. By the way, if someone asks you questions, you have to say that you can't read. Remember?"

"Okay!"

Qin Siyang left the alley and turned to walk towards the school.

He could have given the child more delicious food. But only the food from the cafeteria had a very strong smell, which could confuse the scent on him and prevent anyone from tracing it back to him.

"I hope we can have a pleasant meeting tomorrow, Officer Royeliana."

An hour later, police officers gradually arrived at the police station, and Royeliana was among them.

"Good morning, Royeliana!"

"Good morning, Levi!"

Royeliana greeted her colleagues warmly.

"Royeliana, there seems to be a letter for you here."

The staff in the reception room frowned and carefully identified the handwriting on the envelope, not being very sure.

"Maybe it's not for you, but I think these characters... should be 'For Royeliana'. What do you think?"

Royeliana took the envelope and looked at the twisted characters, also feeling a bit puzzled.

"When was it received?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe last night, or maybe this morning. Anyway, I just found it when I was sorting out the mailbox. Maybe it's a prank by some kid."

"This envelope isn't sealed either. I can open it and take a look. If it's not for me, I'll leave it here and wait for someone to claim it." "Yeah, I think that's a good idea, Royeliana."

Royeliana smiled, opened the envelope, took a look, and the smile on her face immediately froze.
