Chapter 204: Side Project

[Chapter 204: Side Project]

"Uncle Link, you haven't visited Mom and me in a while. Mom says you've been busy. What are you working on?"

Cici held her new barbie toy, her big, expressive eyes shining as she looked at him.

"I'm making a movie, and then there's editing to do, plus media interviews. Just saw a segment about me on that channel," Link replied, ruffling the little girl's bubble-like hair with a smile.

"Are you finished now?" she asked eagerly.

"Yeah, all wrapped up. Did you need something?"

"I want to go to Disneyland! I'm so tired of doing homework, practicing piano, and dance; it's driving me crazy!"

"Alright, I'll take you this weekend," Link laughed, treating Cici like a doting father.

...

Link had $140 million sitting in his account at Citibank in the Cayman Islands, money he didn't plan to bring back to the U.S.. After weighing his options, Link decided on establishing an investment company focused primarily on real estate, technology, and movies, open to investing in a few foreign projects as long as the scripts held potential.

"Do you really want to invest in foreign scripts?" Lily cleaned up the dishes in the kitchen and put the plates and bowls into the dishwasher, nagging as she cleaned up.

Link leaned against the counter said, "After reading a script, I can usually sense its investment potential. With a good enough gut feeling, I feel confident about investing. And as for risk, every investment has its downsides. But with caution, I can navigate those worries."

"You always take such risks. Last year, you gambled millions, and it became a worldwide spectacle, drawing all sorts of envy. You need to quit with the betting--it's no good."

"Got it, I'm not a fan of gambling either."

Link chuckled, watching Lily as she bent over, tidying up the kitchen. Her form was tempting, the outline of her curves almost visible beneath the soft fabric of her skirt.

He walked over to embrace her waist, his hands sliding down gently.

"Hey, watch it! I'm busy here!" she exclaimed, glancing toward the door.

"Keep working; I'm not bothering you," Link said, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair mingled with the aroma of the kitchen.

"Don't do that here; it's bad if Cici sees," she protested.

"She's napping. Trust me, we can be quiet enough not to wake her," he reassured, kissing her neck softly.

With a playful glance, Lily relented as they continued in the kitchen while the dishwasher hummed, concealing their clandestine actions-- Cici remained undisturbed, blissfully unaware in her slumber.
