The Awakening of the Dragon King

The dense shadows of the **Forbidden Forest** stretched endlessly before them.

The moment Rael and Lyra **stepped into its borders**, the air **grew heavier.**

The trees—**massive, ancient, unnatural.** The very ground pulsed with an energy older than time itself.

Then—**they appeared.**

Figures emerged from the darkness—**the Ancient Elves.**

Unlike ordinary elves, these beings were **taller, stronger, and radiated raw magic.**

The eldest among them **stepped forward**, his piercing gaze locking onto Rael.

**"Why have you come here, outsider?"**

Rael's voice was calm, unwavering. **"I seek power. I came for demon blood."**

The elder's expression darkened. **"Why do you desire such a thing?"**

Rael's eyes burned with cold determination. **"Because I wish to be stronger. I have left humanity behind."**

For a long moment, **silence.**

Then, the elder spoke. **"Very well. If you truly desire power, then prove your resolve."**

He gestured toward the towering mountain in the distance.

**"The Dragon King sleeps there. Slay him. Bring me his head."**

Rael's lips curled into a slight smirk. **"Good."**

Without hesitation, he turned toward the mountain.

Lyra followed.

But she couldn't shake the feeling—**this would be his greatest battle yet.**

The climb was steep, the air growing thinner with every step.

Rael and Lyra reached the **heart of the mountain**, where a massive cave yawned open like the jaws of a beast.

Then—**the earth trembled.**

A deep, **thunderous voice** echoed from within.

**"Who dares wake me?"**

The cavern **exploded** as a monstrous figure **rose from the darkness.**

The **Dragon King.**

Its golden scales shimmered like molten fire. Its eyes—**ancient, filled with divine power.**

It **laughed, a sound that shook the entire mountain.**

**"A mere mortal dares challenge me?"**

Rael's grip tightened on his sword. **"I came here to kill you."**

The dragon's gaze sharpened. Then, with amusement, it spoke.

**"Try, then. And fail."**

Rael's eyes gleamed with excitement.

**Finally—a worthy opponent.

The air **cracked with raw power** as the Dragon King unleashed its first attack.

A golden inferno **engulfed the entire battlefield.**

Lyra **leaped back**, shielding herself with wind magic.

But Rael—**he did not move.**

The flames **collided with him—yet did nothing.**

The dragon's eyes **narrowed.** **"Interesting."**

Rael launched forward, **his sword slicing through the air.**

The Dragon King met him head-on—**a clash that shook the heavens.**

Each strike **split mountains**, each impact **rippled across the sky.**

But as the battle raged, Rael felt it—**his power was not enough.**

The Dragon King **was beyond anything he had ever faced.**

And then—**his sword cracked.**

Rael's eyes widened. **Not again.**

The Dragon King smirked. **"You will break before I do."**

Rael clenched his fist. **"No. I refuse."**

Then, his voice dropped to a whisper.

**"Sword… are you ready?"**

A dark voice echoed from within the blade.

**"Always."**

The battle **had only just begun.**
