The Shadowhunter

Chapter 6: The Shadowhunter

Li Yun and the spirit beast, now called Luna, walked through the forest, searching for clues to the whereabouts of the spirit beast hunter. Luna's energy was still unstable, a reflection of her grief and the fear that plagued her.

"He used to come here, to hunt," Luna said, pointing to a clearing where fallen trees and claw marks indicated a past battle. "He sought the strongest beasts, the ones with the power to control the elements."

Li Yun stared at the marks, imagining the ferocity of the fight. He felt a twinge of fear, but also a growing determination. He couldn't let Luna suffer any longer.

"He must have taken his family to a safe place," Li Yun said, "where he can better control them."

"He uses them to fuel his own energy," Luna replied, her voice thick with sadness. "He drains them, steals their life force, to become more powerful."

Li Yun felt a rage boil inside him. He had never felt so motivated to fight for something, to defend the weak and oppressed.

"We'll find him," he said, "and we'll stop him from hurting anyone else."

Luna nodded, her energy stabilizing a little. She trusted Li Yun, his promise to help her.

They walked for hours, the forest growing denser and darker. The spirit beast hunter's energy was noticeable, lingering in the air like a smell of sulfur.

"He's close by," Luna said, "I can feel his energy."

Li Yun felt a chill run down his spine. He knew they were approaching danger.

Suddenly, they heard a loud roar, followed by a crash. The ground shook beneath their feet.

"He's attacking another beast," Luna said, her voice filled with concern.

Li Yun looked at Luna, his eyes filled with compassion. He knew she was in pain, that the pain of loss and fear of the hunter tormented her.

"Let's help her," he said, "let's stop him from hurting her."

He followed Luna toward the sound of the roar, the determination in his heart growing with every step. He could not let the spirit beast hunter continue to spread terror and destruction.

But what awaited them in the battle against the hunter?

And what was the secret behind his obsession for power?
