Archon stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity. "So, you're the ones who think they can stop the Devourer," he said, his voice dripping with skepticism.

Dr. Patel stood tall, her eyes locked on Archon. "We're not just going to try to stop it," she said. "We're going to succeed."

Archon chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "You're brave, I'll give you that," he said. "But bravery won't be enough to save you. The Devourer is a force beyond your comprehension."

Dr. Lee frowned, his eyes narrowing. "What do you mean?" he asked.

Archon's smile grew wider. "The Devourer is not just a creature," he said. "It's a fundamental force of the universe. It's the embodiment of entropy and chaos."

Dr. Chen's eyes went wide. "That's impossible," she said. "If the Devourer is a fundamental force of the universe, then it can't be stopped."

Archon nodded, his eyes glinting with amusement. "That's right," he said. "The Devourer can't be stopped. But it can be delayed. And that's where you come in."

Dr. Patel's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" she asked.

Archon's smile grew wider. "I mean that I can give you the power to delay the Devourer," he said. "But it won't be easy. You'll have to pay a price."

Dr. Lee frowned, his eyes locked on Archon. "What kind of price?" he asked.
