In a world where monsters from another dimension began to appear through cracks, humanity attempted to fight back. However, human knowledge could not harm them. Desperate, they prayed to their gods, but no one responded. As a last resort, humanity turned to the king of the underworld. He listened to their lamentations and granted them the power to fight these beasts: the power of the demonic realm.
My name is Jaciel. I was reincarnated in this world a month ago. I had always dreamed of this ever since I started reading manwhas; I feel like a protagonist.
Jaciel walked through the streets of a futuristic city, with a style reminiscent of cyberpunk. Neon lights reflected off the glass buildings, and beautiful vehicles floated above the pavement. He had noticed several differences compared to his previous world. Here, gods and demons truly existed. Technology was more advanced, especially in the military and medical fields. But more importantly, today was his first day at the Dark Sky Military Institute.
The institute loomed majestically, an impressive fusion of Renaissance architecture and futuristic technology. Statues of ancient heroes, intricately carved, seemed to come to life under the golden glow of the buildings, which rose in tones of gold, gleaming white, and silver-blue. The buildings reflected a metallic shine that danced with the neon lights, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.
"I'll never get tired of seeing this beautiful view," Jaciel thought, smiling to himself. He used his hand to scan a black metal bracelet with a code at the entrance, and the enormous metal gates opened to allow him through.
"Here begins another great day of my student life in this new world," he said aloud, grinning widely.
All the students passing by looked at him with disdain.
"Ugh, what is this weirdo saying?" murmured one.
"Let's just ignore him," replied the other.
Jaciel heard the comments and felt embarrassed. He decided to head to his class. "Ah, but where was the class? I'm a bit silly!" he told himself, laughing nervously. He used his bracelet to display a hologram of his schedule, which guided him to his classroom and showed him the subjects and their times.
"Got it. Time to go," he said, determined.
Jaciel walked through the wide hallways of the Dark Sky Military Institute, his eyes scanning the majestic statues flanking the main entrance. The imposing figures of ancient warriors seemed to come alive under the soft light of the futuristic lamps. As he advanced, he noticed the technological details integrated into the classic architecture, creating a fascinating contrast between tradition and modernity. 'This place is like a sanctuary,' he thought as his footsteps echoed on the marble floor.
Jaciel arrived at his class and saw a sign that read "History Class." The sign had a futuristic design with medieval-style golden borders.
"Excuse me, teacher, I'm new here. May I enter?" he asked, followed by a nervous smile but always with a dazzling grin.
The history teacher, a middle-aged woman with brown hair tied in a bun, looked at him and smiled.
"Don't worry, you arrived just on time. Your name is Tiān Láng, right?"
Jaciel nodded. In this new world, he was known as Tiān Láng.
"I'll introduce myself again. My name is Yuna, and I'll be your teacher from now on for history class. Now let's continue. As many of you know, less than 300 years ago, our planet was ravaged by beasts from another dimension. These beasts have an instinct for dominance and predation... More than half of the human race gave their lives to protect the future of the new generations. I would like everyone to do a report on world history for next week as homework."
The teacher noticed that Tiān Láng had disappeared from his seat.
"Does anyone know where Tiān Láng went?" she asked.
Tiān Láng, in his hurry, was running at full speed down the hallways of the institute, his voice resonating with desperation. "WHERE IS THE BATHROOM?! I NEED TO GO NOW!" he shouted, as the echo of his steps blended with the soft hum of the technology filling the air. His heart was pounding, and sweat began to bead on his forehead, but he couldn't stop.
In his rush, he collided with a girl, making her fall to the ground.
"Ah, sorry, I didn't see you," said Tiān Láng nervously. "But anyway, do you know where the bathroom is?" he asked excitedly.
The girl, visibly angry at Tiān Láng for not helping her up, pointed to the direction of the bathroom with a annoyed voice.
"The bathroom is further ahead..."
"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Tiān Láng shouted as he continued running. The girl stood in shock, got up, adjusted her glasses, and walked away, still confused by the situation.
Tiān Láng returned to his classroom, and the teacher gave him a murderous look but let him pass, simply saying, "I hope this doesn't happen again, Tiān Láng."
"Yes, teacher, don't worry, it won't happen again, I promise."
"Alright, kids, as I was saying, we'll continue talking about the first heroes of humanity."
Jaciel sunk into his thoughts. "Hmm, this world is really beautiful. I never imagined being in a place like this," he said to himself. 'I have a power that no one else possesses, I'm sure of it. I just need to discover it.' Unknowingly, he became so lost in his thoughts that the class had ended.
The bracelet vibrated slightly as a small blue light appeared. Jaciel pressed it, and his schedule appeared; the next class was Physical Training. As he walked towards the training field, he still thought about the history class. 'The first heroes... someday, my name will be remembered alongside theirs,' he thought with a satisfied smile.
The training field was a vast futuristic dome filled with sophisticated training equipment and a large battleground. There were areas for both individual and group combats, and the walls were adorned with holographic screens displaying real-time statistics and data. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation.
"Welcome, students!" Feiyu's voice resonated with undeniable authority. "I'm Feiyu, your new martial arts instructor. Here at the Dark Sky Military Institute, we need to prepare your bodies for the battlefield. To start, you'll do a fundamental exercise: individual combats."
As Feiyu walked across the training field with a scrutinizing look, he continued, "Over the next two hours, we will evaluate your skills and reactions in combat. There are ten of you in this class, so we'll start with the individual fights."
Feiyu stopped and turned his gaze toward a particular student. "You, the one with green eyes, what's your name?"
"Sir! I'm Wēiyán," replied the young man with a defiant and confident attitude.
"Perfect, Wēiyán. Go ahead, step forward."
Then Feiyu turned toward another student. "And you, the one with white hair, what's your name?"
"Bái Rèn, sir," replied in a serious and reserved tone.
"Alright, Wēiyán and Bái Rèn, step into the center. Use the techniques you've learned from your families and give your best."
One of the students in the center of the dome stared at Tiān Láng. "Hey, you, with the weird face. I bet you're a spoiled kid who doesn't know how to defend himself, right?"
Tiān Láng, unfazed, returned the look calmly with a smile. "You don't know me, so don't judge me."
Instructor Feiyu intervened. "Calm down, both of you! You'll have your turn to demonstrate your abilities. You're lucky I'm not unleashing my great power, mwahaha."
Everyone around them heard what Tiān Láng said and just looked at him like he was some weirdo.
"Well, never mind," said Professor Feiyu, somewhat confused.
"Wēiyán, Bái Rèn, get ready!"
The two students stepped into the center of the field, their bodies tense and ready.
