The last day of summer break came with a cool breeze. The sky turned soft colors as the sun began to set. Sora Nagi and Nanako Shimuya walked side by side in the park. They held hands, feeling close. They had spent the day talking, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.
They reached the big tree where they often sat. It was the same tree where they had shared many memories. Sora sat down first, leaning against the rough bark. Nanako sat beside him, their shoulders touching. The soft grass under them felt cool, and the sound of the leaves was calming.
"School starts again tomorrow," Nanako said in a quiet voice.
"Yeah," Sora said, his voice calm. "But I don't feel scared this time."
"Why not?" she asked.
Sora looked at her with a warm smile. "Because you're with me."
Nanako smiled back. "You have changed a lot, Sora."
Sora looked down at their hands, fingers still holding each other. "It's because you helped me. You showed me the way."
The park was quiet. The wind blew gently, and birds sang in the trees. It felt like time had slowed down for them.
"What do you want to do after school?" Sora asked.
"I want to write stories," Nanako said. "Stories about hope and love. Stories that show light even in dark times."
Sora's eyes lit up. "I think you'll write beautiful stories. I want to help people, too. I want to study hard and guide others who feel lost. Just like you helped me."
Nanako took out a small notebook. She wrote something and gave it to Sora. He read the words: "No matter what happens, we will always find our way back to each other."
Sora felt his heart fill with warmth. He looked at Nanako and said, "I promise."
The sky turned dark, and stars began to shine. They stayed under the tree for a while, enjoying the peace.
When it was time to go, they stood up and walked out of the park. Their hands stayed linked. The world felt big, bright, and full of hope.
At Nanako's gate, they stopped. "See you tomorrow?" Sora asked.
"Always," Nanako said with a smile.
Sora walked home, feeling light and happy. His world, once filled with shadows, was now bright. All because of Nanako.
That night, Sora lay in bed and looked at the stars. His dreams were filled with light and laughter. He saw a future where he and Nanako would always be together.
Their story was not over. It was the start of something new and beautiful. And whatever came next, they would face it side by side, always together.
