"Maybe I'll. But for now, I need you, so I won't be killing you now." She said as she picked up her pistol from the floor, tripping it down on her jean sideways hook.
Jake was just dumbfounded. He didn't understand what she meant by that. Did she need him? For what exactly? That sounds really silly. What was he? He was just a skinny crazy gamer from Mexico City.
This body he was now was just some delusion of its own. He knows in reality that he didn't have those arbs, muscles or those packs. These are just some fake images that appear to be the true him.
Though he looked bold, he was still that scary weak little guy that gets bullied every freaking time on the streets. Especially when passing Mr Rage Wake street to get some news paper. He either gets harassed by some bad guys or gets beaten by some depressed drugers who roam about the street like hyenas.
He once arranged his friends, Ryan and Alex to help him out by threatening the bad guys that they got his back. Such a shame that day. They were both beaten blue black by just two of the bad guys. Although Ryan and Alex found a way to escape, but not him.
He couldn't just escape it. It was just as if he was taking two of the beaten melt for his friends that day. It was as if they substitute the punches and blows melt for his friends on him. He regretted making such an arrangement. The guys were just too big and oppressive.
But dude! I'm big now, strong, and maybe with some new abilities that are yet to be unlocked in this body.
'If I ever get back home with these features. I swear, I'll beat the hell out of those drug addicts.'
I'll also make sure Alex and….
"Hey! What the hell are you thinking?" Mia's voice stuns him back. She had been watching him closely on how he had been switching his facial expression from smile, to anger, and then to disgust and then to anger again and then to what seems like amazement and then boldness.
"Umm, nothing actually. Was just…umm.. thinking about…." he stammered, his eyes searching for something to cover up, a person, an object ... .damn anything! He sucks at lying.
"I was just thinking about that lamp." Jake lied, smiling awkwardly, pointing at the lamp that was at the edge of the wall. The lamp looked very far fetched from what he was thinking. Plus he was never looking in that direction until now.
"You must be kidding me. Seriously?" Mia asked as her own eyes fell on what he was pointing at. A lamp? That was sitting comfortably at the edge of the wall. Really?
"So you don't even know how to side-talk?"
"What's that?"
"Like lying. You suck at it. You can't even make up a believable fact to hide your real intentions." Mia explained, swaying her hands in disappointment. "How are you even going to work with me if you can't even do a simple side-talk. Geez!"
"Wait! Work with you? How…. how? I mean, what kind of work are we talking about here?" he asked nervously, trying to sound as politely as possible.
"Listen Jake. You see this whole junk world that you are now? Just assumed it to be a game. Basically, it's a game. So you're gonna play the game well to survive well. In the past few years now, I have been playing this stuff on my own…but now that you're here, you're my last ticket in getting out of the game. Okay!"
Her words sounded like he was in a wrestling contest and his coach–Mia, was just telling him the do's and don't to survive the wrestle.
"Okay, wait a minute Mai. You said we are in a game? Like…dungeons and dragons, that's similar to Jumanji?"
"What!"
"okay, is it's Beast slayer"
"What?"
"monkey Networ"
"Seriously?"
"Call of duty?"
"What? Call of what? What the hell is that?"
"Mai, are you kidding me! Call of Duty meh...Who the hell doesn't know that?"
"Me!" Mai said, rolling her eyes in disgust.
"Fuck! It's a video game published by activision, girl. Though, the games were later developed by various studios, like: Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games ... .bla…bla…bla...bla…bla.. I even tried developing my own version some time ago too." Jake said, excitement suddenly wrapping all over his face.
"Although, it didn't work as I planned it. Jake continued, his excitement was now growing slimer as he recalled his misfortune towards the game. "Well, that was prolly because….."
"We don't have those ummm…games in my world anyway. I mean, my timeline." Mia cut him off, obviously bored with Jake's stories of games. She sat back on her chair, losing her ponytail hair with her fingers into a streaming down hair.
"Oh! What about Mortal Kombat GXL?"
"You know what? Maybe you should just shut the fuck up and listen to me okay?" Mai Screams angrily. Frustration was clearly seen in her face.
"Hmm…in this medieval world, there's a lot of weird stuff. They hunt people here, they are elves, dwarfs and some humanoid people around. So you get to act like a movie star here to blend through the system. Else…."
"Else what?" Jake asked nervously, he swallowed hard at her words as he gaze his eyes on her.
"Else you want your head to be served in a platter of gold to king Agabus." She said, almost in a whisper. She took up the jug again and turned the last liquid on the cup, gulping it into her throat.
Gruuu!
Shs benched and then dropped the jug. She turned to face Jake again who seemed to have frozen like a chicken.
"Don't be scared. You might survive it if you follow the rules," she said, giving him a reassuring smile. Which look forced.
"Umm… can I ask? How….how did you get here?" Jake asked, stammering. He felt he should ask now. Because she doesn't really seem like she was from this place. Plus he was so curious..
"Well, that's something you'll get to know later. For now. Keep your head in the game." she said, picking up a knife from a patch bag and then throwing the knife straight towards him.
"Whoa! What?"
