"Su Qingli, please move aside!"
Chu Ruoyan frowned, knowing it was pointless to explain her relationship with Ling Mo to this woman. She had already clarified many times, and any further explanation would only make Lu Han more annoyed.
And she knew she had been wrong; there was no point in arguing about it.
"You're being ridiculous. Why should I move aside?"
Su Qingli said calmly, "Don't forget that he's my boyfriend now—or rather, my fiancé. Please keep your distance from him!"
Fiancé?
Hearing Su Qingli confirm it, Chu Ruoyan realized that what Lu Han had said about their marriage was true. Her last shred of hope shattered, though she had long prepared herself for this, she still felt a wave of bitterness and sadness.
"Ruoyan, are you okay?" Liang Silu noticed her friend's distress and quickly came over.
She wanted to tell her, *Why bother? What's so great about Lu Han? If you've lost him, just let it go. Why cling to this one tree?*
"I'm fine," Chu Ruoyan steadied herself, noticing the strange looks from the shop assistants and customers. She knew it was inappropriate to confront Lu Han in front of Su Qingli—it would only invite ridicule and unwanted attention. Biting her lip, she glanced at Lu Han, then turned to Liang Silu. "Silu, let's go."
Liang Silu nodded, giving an apologetic look to Su Qingli before leading her friend away.
But after walking a short distance, Chu Ruoyan stopped, staring silently through the window at Lu Han.
"Ruoyan, you're hopeless," Liang Silu sighed, standing by her friend. From her perspective, she hated seeing Chu Ruoyan like this.
The problem was, there was nothing she could say to change her mind. She had already said everything she could, but Chu Ruoyan wouldn't listen.
Inside the store, Su Qingli saw that Chu Ruoyan hadn't left far and slightly furrowed her brows.
Still not giving up?
But then she thought, *It doesn't matter.* If Chu Ruoyan wanted to torment herself, let her watch.
Returning to Lu Han's side, Su Qingli took off the suit and handed it back to the shop assistant, then carefully smoothed out the wrinkles on his shirt, acting like a devoted wife.
"You don't have to do this," Lu Han remarked, thinking Su Qingli was deliberately showing affection to provoke Chu Ruoyan.
Su Qingli thought, *What if you soften up?* Though she knew the chances were slim, remembering the indecent photos Chu Ruoyan had sent Lu Han, she felt it was necessary to be cautious.
Men are creatures driven by their desires. Who knows if Lu Han might fall for Chu Ruoyan's charms?
"As your fiancée, how can I stand by while another woman harasses you? Am I supposed to be that magnanimous?" Su Qingli pouted, taking Lu Han's hand and wrapping it around her slender waist. "None of these suits fit well. Let's try another store."
They walked out, ignoring Chu Ruoyan as if she didn't exist.
For the rest of the day, wherever Lu Han and Su Qingli went, they noticed Chu Ruoyan following them at a distance, unsure of her intentions.
It was awkward for Liang Silu, who couldn't decide whether to stay or leave, but ultimately stayed by her friend's side.
After visiting several luxury stores, Su Qingli finally found a suit she liked. Lu Han looked tall and handsome in it, making her very pleased.
"This one. Wrap it up nicely," Su Qingli handed the suit to the shop assistant and smiled at Lu Han. "We'll use this for our engagement. When it's time to get married, I'll have a tailor-made suit made for you."
"Whatever you say," Lu Han replied casually. Shopping with a woman was such a hassle. Buying a suit shouldn't take three hours, leaving his legs sore, feeling more exhausted than when he was fleeing through the mountains in Myanmar.
At least this ordeal was over.
After packing the clothes, Su Qingli suggested getting some milk tea since they were thirsty from all the walking.
As soon as they entered the milk tea shop, Chu Ruoyan and Liang Silu followed and sat at a table two seats away, not interrupting.
"They really won't give up, will they?" Su Qingli muttered. Seeing Lu Han's avocado milkshake, she asked, "How does yours taste? Is it good?"
Without waiting for a response, she naturally picked up the cup and drank from it, not caring that the straw still had Lu Han's saliva on it, sipping twice.
This counted as an indirect kiss, right?
Su Qingli acted nonchalant, but her heart raced like a deer. She wasn't repulsed at all; instead, she felt a sweet sensation.
Even drinking milk tea he had sipped made her feel this way. Imagining kissing Lu Han, she wondered if she'd faint from happiness.
Is this what love feels like?
Su Qingli hadn't expected to fall so deeply for Lu Han in such a short time, and so willingly.
"Good grief, even drinking milk tea has to be a public display of affection?" Liang Silu rolled her eyes. Such intimate gestures were normal for couples, but seeing Chu Ruoyan's reaction, she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.
She glanced at Chu Ruoyan, who had a pale face, looking both sad and resentful.
"Ruoyan, please, let's go," Liang Silu pleaded. Initially, she thought Lu Han and Su Qingli's relationship was purely transactional, so she didn't mind Chu Ruoyan's unreciprocated feelings. But now, seeing them together, it was clear they genuinely cared for each other.
You're just making a fool of yourself!
"I'm not going," Chu Ruoyan's heart was breaking, yet she watched Su Qingli and Lu Han almost masochistically, tears blurring her vision but refusing to blink.
"I—" Liang Silu was exasperated. Normally, she would slap someone to snap them out of it, but she couldn't bring herself to hurt Chu Ruoyan.
"Fine, if you want to torture yourself, I'll stick with you today."
She gave up trying to convince her, thinking it was just bad luck to run into Lu Han and Su Qingli while shopping.
Su Qingli put down her milk tea, noticing Lu Han's amused expression, causing her cheeks to flush.
But she wasn't done. In fact, she had an even bolder idea.
"Lu Han, my feet are sore. Could you massage them for me?"
Su Qingli unabashedly flirted, slipping off her sneakers and placing her leg, encased in black stockings, on Lu Han's knee.
Her delicate foot swayed, not only craving his touch but also silently challenging Chu Ruoyan.
