Chapter 12

The voice... wasn't that Elowen's?

But how could she possibly be here? I must be hallucinating from exhaustion.

Yet the next moment, Elowen's voice appeared again outside the cabin.

"Gunner! Wait for me!"

Hearing this, I snapped my eyes open.

I peered through the window, widening my eyes in disbelief.

A bright red sports car was sprawled across the runway, like a glaring wound tearing through the airport's gray concrete.

And there was Elowen in the driver's seat, brazenly parked in front of the plane, blocking its path for takeoff.

Her long hair was disheveled, her face streaked with tears.

My heart sank.

Had she gone mad?

What on earth was she trying to do?

Soon, a commotion spread through the cabin.

The flight attendants began calming passengers in various languages.

The captain's voice came over the intercom, his tone serious and urgent.
