I woke up with the first rays of dawn, sitting in bed for a moment as the remnants of sleep clung to me. After a quick shower and a simple breakfast, my mind couldn't stop dwelling on what awaited me today. This was the day I would finally learn my chakra nature.
After two years of continuous training, I had developed precise chakra control, and my chakra reserves were now comparable to that of a Special Jonin (Elite Chunin). Unfortunately, I seemed to have reached the current limit of my body. Perhaps this limit would expand as I grew older.
Regardless, with this solid foundation, I could now perform ninjutsu with ease. My refined chakra control minimized wastage when executing techniques, giving me a strong base to build upon.
I headed to my room and retrieved a chakra nature paper from a small box in the corner. It looked ordinary, but within it lay an answer that could shape my future.
I stared at it calmly, though my heartbeat betrayed my nerves. As a member of the Uchiha clan, I was supposed to have a natural affinity for fire, but deep down, I hoped to possess lightning as well—drawing inspiration from Kakashi's techniques and Sasuke's later mastery of them.
Taking a deep breath, I channeled my chakra into the paper.
The next moment, the paper became soaked as if submerged in water, then split cleanly in half.
I stood frozen in shock. A dual affinity… that was already an incredible discovery. But the real surprise? Fire didn't appear at all.
For the first time, a strange thought crept into my mind… Could it be that I'm not truly an Uchiha?
I quickly dismissed the ridiculous notion. I was still young, but my features clearly resembled my father's.
Instead, another possibility surfaced: perhaps my Uchiha lineage was weak or diluted. This suspicion only grew stronger when I noticed a barely visible scorch mark on a tiny portion of the paper—so faint that it was easy to miss at first glance.
I let out a small sigh before shifting my perspective. Even if my fire affinity was weak, my wind and water affinities were excellent. Moreover, I could still train to develop an affinity for lightning, though it would require extra effort. But it would be worth it. Perhaps in the future, I could refine a personal Chidori variant like Sasuke, unlocking incredible power.
After organizing my thoughts, I opened the small inheritance box left by my father. Inside were several scrolls: seven C-rank ninjutsu techniques, three B-rank, and a single A-rank.
I began scanning through my available options. Among the seven C-rank techniques, I could only use four. As for the B-rank techniques, I could utilize two.
The rest? They were all fire and lightning-based ninjutsu—and focusing on fire would be pointless with my weak affinity.
I picked up the first C-rank scroll and started reading.
Wind Blade: A technique that launches a compressed wind slash to distract an opponent.
Water Bullet: Not a lethal technique, but excellent for distraction. It consumes little chakra and has a fast casting time.
Illusion Bind & Genjutsu Release: Two genjutsu techniques—one for immobilizing an opponent, the other for dispelling illusions.
I decided to start with Water Bullet, as it was the easiest. Returning the other scrolls to the box, I left my house and headed toward a nearby lake. Sitting down, I carefully studied the scroll, absorbing the details of the technique.
Five Hours Later…
"Water Bullet!"
A sphere of water shot forward at high speed, crashing against the training dummy with force. I observed the result with satisfaction, then let out a quiet sigh.
It had taken five full hours to learn and master the technique. But my previous efforts in chakra control training had finally paid off. Had I not spent time refining my control, I would still be struggling with the basics, and mastering this technique could have taken three to four days.
Now that it was nearing midday, I decided to return home for a meal. I would save the wind technique for tomorrow—there was no need to overtrain all at once.
