Chapter 40 Easter

Monday, 12 April 1992

The past three months had been peaceful for Daniel. He hadn't ventured into the Earkling Dungeon during the first month, choosing instead to focus entirely on grinding his skills.

After regaining his confidence, he began leveling up again, this time, far more cautious of his surroundings. His stat gains from physical training had started to slow down, even with the use of weights, but his mental stats were still rising. Slower than before, yes, but at a steady pace.

Daniel woke up feeling refreshed after his weekend break. He stretched and yawned, feeling the stiffness leave his body.

'It's almost exam time,' he thought as he went through his morning routine.

'They should be easy for me,' he mused, glancing at his status and magic skills on the screen.

'The Potions and Herbology skills are getting harder to progress,' Daniel thought, frowning slightly. 'I don't have the ingredients for advanced potions, and I don't have the seeds to plant higher-level herbs. Looks like I'm stuck grinding with the basics... quantity over quality for now.'

An idea suddenly sparked in his mind.

'Wait a minute… Didn't the protagonist in Hogwarts Legacy have a secret base in the Room of Requirement? I remember he had his personal garden space or something similar there.' He paused, pondering it for a moment, then grinned. 'Well, guess it's time to check out that room for myself.'

He finished up his morning routine and stepped out of the bathroom. His friends were already awake and moving around.

"I see you're up early today," he said with a smile.

"Of course! It's the start of Easter holidays today!" Michael replied, clearly excited. The rest of the group nodded in agreement, with some stifling yawns.

Daniel noticed Terry, still half-asleep, his head resting on his pillow. With a grin, Daniel walked over and slapped him lightly on the back.

"It's a good habit to wake up early!" he declared loudly.

Terry jolted awake, blinking in confusion. "Why'd you do that?" he grumbled, his voice still slurry from sleep as he reluctantly pulled himself out of bed.

"You're not going to be the only one sleeping in, mate," Daniel teased, a playful smirk on his face.

Once everyone was ready, they made their way down to the Common Room and out of the Ravenclaw dorms toward the Great Hall.

The Great Hall was bright and cheerful this morning, decorated with pastel flowers and small enchanted eggs scattered across the tables. Chocolate treats and warm buns filled every plate, and sunlight streamed through the windows, making the entire room feel more festive than usual.

They found their usual spot at the Ravenclaw table, settling in near each other.

"So, the exams start soon," Daniel said, piling food onto his plate.

"Yeah, I should probably start preparing," Anthony replied, glancing at the others. The rest nodded in agreement, all sharing a similar feeling of unease about the upcoming exams. They chatted about their plans for studying and random topics, the conversation lighthearted until the lessons began.

Once the lessons ended, Daniel excused himself and made his way to the 7th floor. It didn't take long to find the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy attempting to teach trolls ballet.

'Now, what should I think about?' he wondered, standing in front of the tapestry. He paced back and forth for a moment, repeating to himself, 'I need a base where I can practice, brew potions, and plant magical plants.'

He repeated it three times, and suddenly, a door appeared directly opposite the tapestry.

Daniel blinked in surprise before quickly stepping through, closing the door behind him.

Inside, the room was spacious, filled with potion tables, plant-growing stations, and tool benches. There were also areas for storing items and crafting gear, all laid out practically to support magical studies.

"Wow," Daniel muttered, his eyes wide as he took in the sight of the room. His gaze drifted to a glowing doorway in the back of the space, radiating a soft, inviting aura. Beyond it, he could see a serene beach, with the clear blue water lapping gently at the shore under the warm sun.

'Is this the Vivarium?' he wondered.

"Are there any magical beasts inside?" he asked aloud, but he didn't step through the door just yet. 'I'll check it out later,' he decided, turning his attention back to the potion and planting stations.

'Time to practice making some real potions,' he thought with a grin, rolling up his sleeves.
