University of Lagos – Morning
Joshua walked through campus with a different energy. Money changed things.
He wasn't just another broke student anymore. He was making moves—real moves.
Now, the question was: how much bigger could he go?
His deal with Jide had doubled his stock, and orders were rolling in faster than he expected. But with growth came risk.
As he stepped into the lecture hall, his phone vibrated.
Unknown Number: "We need to talk. 4 PM. Law Faculty. Don't be late."
Joshua frowned. Who the hell was this?
Later That Afternoon – The Meeting
Joshua arrived at the Law Faculty, scanning the area.
Then, he spotted them.
A man in a clean suit, mid-30s, with an aura that screamed money and influence.
Joshua approached cautiously. "You the one looking for me?"
The man smiled. "Joshua, right? Sit."
Joshua didn't like this. Too formal. Too planned.
"Who are you?" Joshua asked.
The man chuckled. "Just someone who recognizes potential."
Joshua folded his arms. "And?"
The man leaned forward. "I hear you're good at business. You're making money. Fast. But you're small-scale."
Joshua said nothing.
"You're playing in the kiddie pool," the man continued. "I'm offering you the ocean."
Joshua raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly does that mean?"
The man smirked. "Bigger deals. Real money. The kind that gets you out of this campus hustle and into the real world."
Joshua exhaled. "And what do you get?"
The man's smile widened. "Your talent. Your loyalty. And, eventually, your empire."
Joshua leaned back. He wasn't stupid. This guy wasn't just some businessman.
He was connected.
And in Lagos, connections were everything.
But also dangerous.
"I'll think about it," Joshua said, standing up.
The man nodded. "Don't take too long."
As Joshua walked away, his mind raced.
Was this the break he needed? Or was it a trap?
Evening – A Different Kind of Distraction
Joshua sat in his hostel room, deep in thought.
Then, there was a knock.
He opened the door—and there was Amara.
Again.
She walked in without waiting, as usual. "You look stressed."
Joshua sighed. "Big decisions."
She raised an eyebrow. "Money moves?"
Joshua chuckled. "Something like that."
She sat on his bed, watching him. "You ever think about slowing down?"
Joshua smirked. "Not in my DNA."
She rolled her eyes. "You act like money is everything."
Joshua leaned forward. "And you act like it's not."
She sighed. "I just don't want you to lose yourself."
Joshua blinked. Lose himself?
Before he could respond, she reached over and flicked his forehead.
"Ouch!"
She grinned. "That's for being too serious."
Joshua shook his head. "One day, I'll get you back for all these attacks."
She smirked. "I'll be waiting."
Then, she stood up.
Joshua watched her. Something about Amara was… different.
She wasn't just some girl. She was important.
And maybe, just maybe—she knew him better than he knew himself.
Later That Night – A Final Decision
Joshua sat alone, staring at his phone.
He had two options:
Keep doing things small-scale, safe.
Take the big risk—and possibly change his entire life.
He sighed.
He already knew the answer.
He picked up his phone and sent a message.
Joshua: "I'm in."
