"Just a little more…"
Ezren's hands tightened around his controller as the Abyssal Tyrant—the final boss of Eternal Kingdom—let out a deafening roar. The monstrous god's obsidian wings spread wide, its four burning eyes locked onto Ezren's raid party.
"Tank, reposition! He's targeting the healers!"
"DPS, burst now or we wipe!"
The voice of his party leader rang through his headset, but Ezren didn't need instructions.
He was already moving.
His character, Veyrion the Overlord, lunged forward, dodging a barrage of dark spears. His crimson blade ignited with demonic energy—[Hellforged Execution]—as he dashed through the battlefield, cutting down summoned wraiths in a single sweep.
The other players struggled to keep up.
"Damn casuals," Ezren muttered under his breath.
For five years, Eternal Kingdom had been his domain. He wasn't just another high-level player—he was the number one-ranked Overlord, the ruler of the game's most powerful faction, and the undisputed PvP champion.
And tonight, he would claim the final throne.
The Abyssal Tyrant dropped to 10% HP, entering its final phase.
A massive red warning appeared across the screen:
⚠ WARNING: GODSLAYER MODE ACTIVATED ⚠
The boss's body began to warp, its form becoming unstable. This was the mechanic that had wiped every previous raid group—the final gamble.
The game developers had called it an "unbeatable fight."
Ezren smirked.
"Watch me."
With lightning speed, he activated [Dominion's Wrath], unleashing a storm of black flames that engulfed the battlefield. The Abyssal Tyrant screamed as Ezren carved through its defenses, his sword shattering its divine core in a single strike.
The screen flashed.
[CONGRATULATIONS! THE ABYSSAL TYRANT HAS FALLEN!]
[WORLD FIRST CLEAR ACHIEVED: VEYRION THE OVERLORD]
His party erupted in cheers. The first player to ever beat the game.
And then…
Darkness.
A system message appeared.
[ERROR: SYSTEM OVERRIDE DETECTED]
Ezren's screen glitched. His surroundings flickered. His heart pounded.
"What the hell is—"
Everything went black.
And when he opened his eyes again…
He wasn't in his gaming chair anymore.
He was sitting on a massive obsidian throne, in the middle of a towering citadel.
And before him, a kneeling silver-haired woman looked up at him with teary eyes.
"My lord… you have returned."
