I pulled out the property deed and presented the purchase records for the gold locket and other items.

Dash, seeing I was serious, instantly changed his demeanor.

"Officer, we're just a married couple having a dispute. This isn't illegal trespassing!"

Turning back to me, he gritted his teeth, barely containing his fury.

"Naomi, you've gone too far! Don't air our dirty laundry in public. Surely you understand that principle?"

"Do you really need to make a scene for everyone to see? Is that what satisfies you?"

"I'm the victim here. People will only sympathize with what I've been through. You two are the ones who should be ashamed!"

"If you don't want the whole world to know you harmed your wife and child for your mistress, take them and get out now!"

Seeing my unyielding attitude, Meadow, ever the opportunist, immediately knelt at my feet and began to wail loudly.

"Sister Naomi, are you trying to drive me to my death?"
