One evening, after a particularly long and stressful day at work, Ryan came home late. Emma was sitting on the couch, waiting for him. She had been thinking all day about their relationship, and she had made a decision.
"Ryan, we need to talk," she said, her voice heavy.
Ryan sat down next to her, looking tired. "What is it, Emma?"
Emma took a deep breath. "I don't think this is working anymore. We're constantly fighting, and I feel like we're drifting apart. Maybe we should break up."
Ryan was shocked. "Emma, no. We can fix this. We just need to talk, to work through our problems."
But Emma was determined. "I've thought about it a lot, and I don't see a way forward. I think it's better if we go our separate ways."
Ryan tried to convince her, but Emma was adamant. She started packing her things, and within an hour, she was gone. Ryan was left alone in the apartment, feeling like his heart had been ripped out. He couldn't believe that their relationship, which had started so beautifully, had ended in such a painful way.
