Handsome

Most of the people who had fallen into the water were rescued by dolphins that had come from elsewhere, so when the little mermaid followed the dolphins underwater to the other side of the sunken ship, the scene had stabilized despite the ongoing rain. 

Only a few terrified women and middle-aged men stubbornly refused to accept the dolphins' proximity, their expressions filled with disgust. 

After their attempts to assist proved fruitless, the irritable dolphins emitted a series of annoyed calls, turning their backs on the humans without a trace of sentimentality, and swam away to join their companions. 

Though the little mermaid said nothing, the dolphins understood her disdain for unattractive humans, and they harbored similar feelings themselves. 

It was one thing to be unappealing, but what was with the way these humans looked at them? 

If these humans did not wish for their company, then the dolphins had no desire to carry them through the water! 

Did they truly believe the dolphins cared for them? 

As the remaining humans helplessly watched their companions being rescued one by one by these peculiar creatures, swiftly leaving the tumultuous waters, regret began to creep in. They hastily called out for the other dolphins. 

"Hey, what about me? Don't you care?" 

"That one over there! Come back! I'll give you anything you want…" 

However, the few dolphins that had not yet departed ignored the remaining humans entirely, gathering around the young man seated on the wooden plank, their large, dark eyes studying him intently. 

As they observed, the little dolphins turned their heads and exchanged soft chirps, engaging in quiet conversation. 

Sebastian raised his hand to push the damp hair from his forehead, revealing his sharp features, only to be doused again by the relentless rain, returning to his previously disheveled appearance. 

He paused, abandoning his efforts to tidy himself, and glanced at the lively little creatures frolicking around him despite the downpour. After a moment, he jested, "What's this? Aren't you going to take me with you?" 

During this time, he had naturally noticed that these beings seemed intent on rescuing them, displaying a remarkable intelligence that suggested they needed to communicate before acting. 

The individuals left isolated and defenseless had undoubtedly rejected their assistance, resulting in their abandonment. 

Yet, he had been waiting for a dolphin to engage him in their customary communication, only to find that… they seemed disinclined to do so? 

"Hey, over there…" 

Finally, someone spotted the cluster of dolphins surrounding Sebastian, and excitement surged within him. 

However, knowing the nature of Sebastian, he surmised that asking for a dolphin would likely yield no results. Instead, he clung to a piece of wood, gritting his teeth and swimming determinedly toward the dolphins, intent on grabbing one to ensure his survival. 

But unexpectedly, he collided with a dolphin that was bringing the little mermaid, causing the startled dolphin to reflexively slap its tail into the water, sending him tumbling away. 

He didn't even have time to cry out before the impact separated him from the floating plank, and in an instant, he was submerged in the churning sea, vanishing from sight. 

The little dolphin paused, momentarily stunned. 

Lu, perplexed, swam over and wrapped her arms around the suddenly distressed little dolphin, who seemed on the verge of tears. "What's wrong?" 

The little dolphin cautiously nuzzled against the little mermaid, then emitted a couple of low, sorrowful sounds. 

It hadn't meant to hurt him; that face was just too ugly… it couldn't help itself… 

Moreover, that human had been carrying a piece of wood, which had struck it painfully! 

Lu, with a sigh of exasperation, comforted, "Alright, I know you didn't do it on purpose, but it's done now. Crying won't change anything, so please stop." 

As she spoke, the mermaid princess gently patted the little dolphin's head and used her magic to soothe its hurt, allowing the dolphin to adjust its emotions as she eagerly swam to the surface— 

She hadn't forgotten her purpose for the night! 

Everything else was secondary; the handsome prince was of utmost importance! 

Thus, the dolphin, unprepared to miss out on the little mermaid's sweet kisses, watched in dismay as her beautiful blue tail began to disappear from view. 

Determined not to let her go so easily, it quickly twisted its body and pursued her— 

It knew there were plenty of dolphins awaiting their chance, and it could not allow another to claim the little mermaid! 

Meanwhile, the young girl suddenly surfaced, her upper body emerging from the water, her dark blue hair billowing with the currents, her azure eyes wide with curiosity as they locked onto the young man who was watching her. 

The rain continued to fall in a gentle drizzle, mingling with the sea spray from the little mermaid, drenching the young man and adding to his disheveled appearance, yet failing to diminish his charm. 

In that instant, the mermaid princess could almost hear the pounding of her own heart. 

Sebastian furrowed his brow and, in a fleeting moment, confirmed that this enigmatic girl with her unusual hair and eye colors was not on the list of passengers aboard the ship— 

Those who accompanied him on this voyage, regardless of their rank or position, had undergone rigorous scrutiny and had been personally approved by him. 

At the same time, the dolphins that had previously been lazily circling around the young man suddenly sprang to life, one by one joyfully crowding around the newly appeared figure on land, playfully tilting their heads and frolicking in circles. 

This caused great frustration for the little dolphin that had arrived late, which, despite its best efforts, could not squeeze its way through its companions and could only watch anxiously from the sidelines. 

However, the little mermaid, oblivious to the dolphins vying for her attention, focused her beautiful azure eyes intently on the young man, her expression serious and unyielding. 

The dolphins finally grasped the situation, exchanging knowing glances before settling down in obedient silence. 

Raising an eyebrow, Sebastian observed the scene without any particular thoughts, yet internally began to ponder the identity of this intriguing girl. 

Though the waters in this area were not overly crowded with vessels, they were not scarce either; encountering another ship in distress would not be particularly surprising. 

As these thoughts crossed his mind and he witnessed the dolphins' affectionate behavior towards the figure on land, Sebastian took the initiative to ask, "Do you know where these… creatures are taking people?" 

Lu blinked, momentarily taken aback by the realization that this human indeed matched her ideals. However, upon hearing his question, she found herself momentarily at a loss, looking up at him in confusion, "Huh?" 

Where were they going? Weren't they right here? 

Then, suddenly recalling something, Lu swiftly covered Sebastian's eyes with her hand and, in a flurry, collided into his embrace, exclaiming, "No! The prince must faint to be… saved by the mermaid!" 

So this human cannot remain conscious! 

Sebastian was momentarily stunned, unable to utter another word before darkness enveloped him, and he succumbed to unconsciousness. 

The last impression before his mind slipped into oblivion was the sudden impact against his back and the cool, soft sensation of her body against him. 

"Oh, he's fainted." Lu lay in the young man's arms, blinking her eyes before cautiously retracting her hands. 

With the prince she wished to save now unconscious, the previously raging storm calmed in an instant; the dark clouds parted to reveal a brilliant, clear night sky. 

Lu glanced at the young man's face, hesitating for a moment before irresistibly reaching out to brush aside the stray strands of hair from his face, revealing his striking features. 

"How handsome," the little mermaid mused contentedly. 

She flicked her tail, propping her chin on her hands as she lay in the young man's embrace, focusing intently on his face while murmuring, "Though he seems a bit different from what I imagined and doesn't have golden hair, my grandmother didn't deceive me after all~~" 

The little mermaid smiled with satisfaction.
