A New S-Rank Dungeon Appears

Zero and Lily were enjoying their peaceful time together. After everything they had gone through, these quiet days felt like a gift. They had spent the day at the amusement park, where Lily's laughter finally returned. Seeing her smile made Zero feel lighter—like the weight of his battles had momentarily lifted.

But peace never lasted long in his world.

As they sat in the living room watching TV, a breaking news alert flashed across the screen.

"Urgent Announcement! A new S-Rank dungeon has appeared on a lost island in the middle of the ocean. This dungeon is unlike anything we have ever encountered before!"

Zero narrowed his eyes. S-Rank dungeons were rare—and extremely dangerous.

The news continued.

"The monsters inside are… unlike any recorded species. They are skeleton-like creatures, but they possess a terrifying ability: regeneration. No matter how much damage they take, they instantly recover, making them nearly immortal. Two S-Rank hunters and ten A-Rank hunters have already perished inside. The Hunter Association has declared the dungeon an extreme threat. If these creatures escape the island and reach the mainland… there may be no way to stop them."

Lily clutched Zero's sleeve, her small hands trembling. "Zero… is that dungeon really dangerous? Are we… gonna die?"

Zero ruffled her hair gently and gave her a confident smirk. "Don't worry, Lily. No matter what happens, I won't let anything harm you."

Lily looked at him with wide, trusting eyes. "But… even the strongest hunters couldn't defeat them. How can anyone stop monsters that can heal forever?"

Zero leaned back, deep in thought. Regeneration and skeletons, huh? He had never heard of creatures like that before, but one thing was clear—if normal hunters couldn't handle them, he would have to step in.

He clenched his fist. His Devour skill had evolved. Could it absorb more than just stamina now? Could it counter their regeneration?

If so, then this battle might be the perfect test for his new abilities.

Zero smirked. "If those hunters can't stop them, then I will."

Lily's eyes sparkled with admiration, but deep down, she was worried. Zero was strong, stronger than anyone she had ever known. But the thought of him fighting alone against monsters that even S-Rank hunters couldn't defeat made her chest feel tight.

The news anchor's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"The Hunter Association is currently seeking high-level hunters to join the expedition. All elite-ranked hunters are urged to report to headquarters immediately."

Zero stood up and grabbed his coat.

"Wait… are you going already?" Lily asked, her voice small.

Zero turned back and smiled. "Not yet. I need to gather some information first. And don't worry—no matter what happens, I'll always come back to you."

Lily watched as Zero left, her heart pounding.

Something about this dungeon felt different. And deep inside, she had a feeling that this was just the beginning of something even bigger…
