Chapter 28: Elder Mokaze's Investment
Uchiha Tsukiko recalled his recent conversation with Elder Senju Mokaze and Elder Uchiha Setsuna.
Elder Mokaze had expressed his unwavering support for Tsukiko in rebuilding the Senju Clan, while Elder Setsuna hoped Tsukiko would become Hokage to bridge the gap between the Uchiha Clan and the village. Both had promised their full backing.
"If they're both willing to support me, why not leverage their power to establish my intelligence network?" Tsukiko mused. "Mokaze's desire to revive the Senju Clan and Setsuna's wish for Uchiha resurgence—if I can align their interests, I'll accelerate my plans while solidifying my position within the village."
Tsukiko was well aware of the deep-rooted influence of both clans within Konoha.
Although the Senju Clan had largely assimilated into the village, their legacy still held considerable sway. The Uchiha Clan, despite facing political marginalization, remained a formidable force in terms of strength and potential.
With a concrete plan forming in his mind, Tsukiko resolved to act immediately upon returning to Konoha. His first stop would be Elder Senju Mokaze, to propose the intelligence network idea and seek his endorsement. Given Mokaze's dedication to the Senju revival, rejection seemed unlikely.
Next, Tsukiko would approach Elder Uchiha Setsuna. Since Setsuna viewed Tsukiko as the Uchiha Clan's bridge to power and reconciliation with the village, he would likely embrace the idea of leveraging Uchiha resources to establish the network.
"If I can unite the strength of the Senju and Uchiha Clans, my intelligence network will become an unstoppable force," Tsukiko thought, confidence surging within him. "This won't just strengthen my position in Konoha—it will give me the tools to reshape the ninja world itself."

Upon returning to Konoha, Tsukiko wasted no time. He headed straight for Elder Mokaze's residence, knowing that securing his support was the crucial first step.
As Tsukiko walked through the familiar streets of Konoha, his heart pounded—not with fear, but with resolve. He knew this conversation could shape his future.
Finally, he reached Elder Mokaze's home. Taking a deep breath, Tsukiko knocked firmly on the door.
Moments later, the door creaked open, revealing the elderly yet vigorous figure of Mokaze. His sharp eyes softened into a welcoming smile upon seeing Tsukiko.
"Ah, Tsukiko, I had a feeling you'd come," Mokaze said, stepping aside. "Come in."
Tsukiko bowed respectfully before entering the room. He didn't waste time with pleasantries.
"Lord Mokaze," Tsukiko began, his voice steady, "I've been reflecting deeply on the path to rebuilding the Senju Clan. While you've graciously offered your support, I've realized that strength alone won't suffice."
Mokaze's brow furrowed slightly, interest piqued. He gestured for Tsukiko to continue.
"To truly revive the Senju Clan," Tsukiko explained, "we need information. Intelligence is the key to staying ahead—whether it's navigating village politics, managing alliances, or identifying potential threats. If we establish a dedicated intelligence network, we can ensure the Senju's resurgence without being blindsided."
The elder nodded slowly, his gaze thoughtful. "You speak wisely. Intelligence shapes victories as much as strength does. But how do you propose to build such a network? It's no simple undertaking."
Tsukiko leaned forward, his tone firm. "The Senju Clan may be scattered, but many still hold loyalty to the family's legacy. These individuals, integrated into civilian and administrative roles across the village, can form the backbone of our network. With their support, we can gradually extend our reach beyond Konoha and into the other nations."
Seeing Mokaze deep in thought, Tsukiko pressed his advantage.
"Lord Mokaze, the road to rebuilding the Senju Clan will be fraught with obstacles. Other factions within the village won't welcome our resurgence. Without a strong intelligence network, we'll be walking blind, vulnerable to sabotage or political suppression."
Tsukiko's voice hardened. "Furthermore, the ninja world itself is growing increasingly unstable. Conflicts between nations are escalating. If we don't stay informed, the Senju Clan could once again find itself on the brink of extinction."
"Only by controlling information can we foresee threats, make informed decisions, and act decisively. This network will not just protect the Senju—it will place us at the heart of Konoha's future."
Silence hung between them for a moment as Mokaze processed Tsukiko's words.
Finally, the elder exhaled deeply, a hint of admiration glinting in his eyes. "Tsukiko, your vision is far-reaching and pragmatic. You're not just thinking about strength but about sustainability and influence. I'm impressed."
"But," Mokaze added, his expression sharpening, "such an endeavor requires significant resources and manpower. Are you truly prepared to take on such a responsibility?"
Tsukiko met the elder's gaze without hesitation. "I am. And I'm not alone. Alongside the Senju, I plan to secure the Uchiha Clan's support. If we unite the strength of both clans, the intelligence network will not only succeed but thrive."
A rare smile spread across Mokaze's face—one of satisfaction and hope.
"Well spoken, Tsukiko. I see the future of the Senju Clan in you. Very well—I'll fully support your initiative. I'll rally the remaining loyalists of the Senju to your cause. Though scattered, they are still connected through old alliances and shared purpose. With the right leadership, they will form the foundation of your network."
Relief and gratitude flooded Tsukiko's heart. With Mokaze's endorsement, the most challenging hurdle had been cleared.
"Thank you, Lord Mokaze," Tsukiko said earnestly. "With your support, I'm confident we can not only rebuild the Senju Clan but ensure its prosperity for generations to come."
Mokaze nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Tsukiko, the future of the Senju Clan now rests in your hands. No matter the challenges ahead, remember—you have my full backing."
Tsukiko stood and bowed deeply. "I won't disappoint you, Elder."
As he stepped out into the evening streets of Konoha, Tsukiko's determination solidified.
