Chapter ( 43 )

The Supreme Elder's words made the young woman's face tense up, but she still looked incredibly charming. The Supreme Elder pointed at the glowing mirror, and as he did, a large grid appeared on the mirror's surface, revealing a flood of data.

As he read the information, his eyes widened in shock. He gasped in disbelief.

"How… how is this possible?!"

Hearing his astonished voice, the young woman focused her gaze on the mirror. Moments later, she too was stunned.

"This can't be real… Did something go wrong?"

The Supreme Elder immediately waved his hand, manipulating the mirror's interface to double-check the data. However, the results remained the same. He murmured to himself:

"The report is flawless… That means… it's real."

He turned to the young woman and asked, "If this is true, isn't this a blessing from the Dragon God for your clan? This… this is an unimaginable fortune!"

The young woman pressed her hands against her chest, overwhelmed with emotion. She stared at the mirror and whispered,

"A true blessing from the ancestors."

The data displayed on the glowing mirror was an official selection report.

The chosen individual was a human.

Their compatibility with the Starbound Bloodline was 100%.

Their bloodline had already undergone an advanced transformation.

Their dormant bloodline power had awakened by half.

Most importantly, their newly awakened lineage was revealed to be the Primordial Azure Dragon Bloodline.

Their current power level was classified as Earthly Formation Stage.

The report further stated that the selection process had reached completion, and the chosen one could now be summoned. Because of their special classification, the report advised using the Main Starlink Gateway for a secure transfer.

The Supreme Elder turned to the young woman and asked,

"What do you think? Once we bring him here… will you truly marry him?"

The young woman hesitated. Then, she asked,

"His bloodline has already transformed, and half of his dormant power has awakened. If we perform a bloodline fusion, the chances of success will be extremely high, right? And… he carries the Primordial Azure Dragon's lineage. His bloodline is far more complete than ours. If we merge with his bloodline, can you imagine what kind of dragons we might become? Would this lead to…?"

She stopped speaking, covering her mouth with her hand.

It was clear.

A fully evolved bloodline was the ultimate dream of all major factions. A perfected bloodline had no weaknesses, having automatically eliminated all flaws through generations of refinement.

And this was no ordinary bloodline—it was a dragon's bloodline. The greatest flaw of dragon bloodlines was their low fertility rate and the difficulty of inheriting pure bloodline abilities. If this weakness could be removed, the dragon race could rise to become one of the strongest lineages in existence.

The Supreme Elder trembled as he realized the implications. He whispered,

"This must remain a secret. No one else can know."

The young woman nodded. This discovery could determine the fate of their clan for the next thousands of years. Her heartbeat quickened as she processed the significance of it all. The future of her entire bloodline now rested in the hands of this single human.

The Supreme Elder then asked,

"The other leaders will want to assign him a title. How should we announce his rank?"

The young woman thought for a moment before asking,

"Can they stop us from summoning him? Under what circumstances could they reject our claim?"

The Supreme Elder considered this carefully before replying,

"If they believe his status is too low or that he might be oppressed under our rule, they could refuse. They also have an interest in forming alliances with the human faction."

"Especially now that humans are expanding their new territories. The remnants of their scattered clans have been gathering strength, and it's likely that their war preparations are nearly complete."

"Once we claim him, we will be entangled with the human faction. Even though we can register as an allied bloodline, their true intentions remain unclear. Never forget—humans were once one of the most powerful and cunning advanced races."

"No one knows what they've been plotting for all these years. While the surface-level human planets may seem weak and powerless, their lost warlords remain unaccounted for. We suspect there's something hidden behind the scenes, but we lack evidence. That's why, despite their decline, no one has dared to touch their abandoned worlds."

The young woman spoke softly,

"We can accept an alliance with humanity, but we cannot allow them to control him. If they realize how valuable he is, they might try to claim him for themselves. That would be unacceptable for our bloodline."

"Even if he doesn't side with us, we must ensure that humanity cannot use him to exert influence over our clan. Otherwise, they will leverage him to manipulate us. This situation must be handled with extreme caution, Supreme Elder."

"Right now, our greatest advantage is that the human elders are still unaware of his true potential. As long as we keep this secret, even if we can't control everything, we will still hold the upper hand."

She took a deep breath and continued, "Alright. I've made up my mind."

The Supreme Elder narrowed his eyes and asked, "What are you planning to do?"

The young woman smirked. "I will summon him with the highest possible rank."

The Supreme Elder's eyes widened slightly. "The highest rank your clan can offer? Are you talking about the Royal Dragon Priest? Or perhaps the Grand General? I doubt that would work. His current power level is too low. If we summon him as a Grand General, it will be seen as a joke."

The young woman shook her head. "No, no. The highest rank isn't the Grand General."

She smiled mischievously. "The highest position… is the Queen's Consort!"

The Supreme Elder's expression froze. "You… you mean to summon him as the Queen's husband?!"

The young woman nodded. "I will officially appoint him as my personal advisor. That way, the human elders won't be able to interfere. And once he becomes my husband, he will officially be part of our clan. That means he will be under my protection, outside of their control."

She leaned back with a satisfied expression. "This is like killing multiple birds with one stone."

The Supreme Elder let out a low chuckle and shook his head. "You cunning little fox… You really are quite clever."

He sighed. "Alright. I'll proceed with the paperwork and initiate the summoning. The human elders won't notice immediately. They're currently preoccupied with establishing their new territories, so we still have some time before they realize what's happening. But let me be clear—if you send this official request, you'll have to go through with it. There will be no turning back. No last-minute regrets. Once he arrives, he will be your husband. You won't get to say, 'Oh, I changed my mind, let's cancel the wedding.'"

The young woman let out a soft sigh and muttered, "I just hope he isn't too ugly, too short, too fat, or too brutish. Please, please, please let him be at least somewhat decent-looking."

The Supreme Elder: "….."

She continued, gazing into the distance. "If he's too scrawny, too dark-skinned, too soft and delicate like a celestial scholar, or just too weak and fragile… I don't think we will get along at all."

The Supreme Elder: "….."

She took another deep breath and was about to continue when the Supreme Elder's mouth twitched. He quickly cut her off. "The only thing I need to know is—are you really going to marry him or not? There's no room for deception in an official summons!"

She blinked innocently and asked, "Uncle Shi, do I look like a liar to you?"

The Supreme Elder exhaled and shook his head. "Forget it. Forget it. I won't argue with you anymore. I'll finalize the paperwork and schedule the summoning. You just focus on preparing yourself."

With that, he turned and left the chamber, heading toward a secure location within the central command to carry out the summoning.

Left alone, the young woman sat down and poured herself a glass of wine. She swirled the drink in her cup before taking a sip, wiping the stray drops from her lips.

She muttered under her breath, "Ahh… I can't believe I'm really getting a husband like this. Even I find it hard to believe… I just hope he turns out to be someone worthwhile."
