Satoru and Suguru exchanged glances, then turned to look at Satoshi together.
Silent. Their eyes were filled with concern.
"Since this was a resolution jointly passed by the upper management of the Association and the Big Three Sorcerer Families, it naturally follows the rules," Kamo Kenshin said coldly.
He looked at Satoshi.
Hearing this, Satoru frowned. He wanted to speak up for his brother but, in the end, didn't refute Kenshin's words.
Because he was simply telling the truth.
He knew how many people had come just because of Satoshi's name.
If Satoshi were to withdraw now, the weight of public pressure would indeed be overwhelming.
Everyone turned to look at Satoshi, wanting to know what choice he would make.
A clash between five brothers, the top geniuses in the jujutsu world.
To say they weren't excited would be a lie.
None of them knew what had happened during the peak battle at the Tombs of the Star.
In their eyes, this Goodwill Event was one of the few opportunities to witness an internal conflict between the five most talented sorcerers of the era.
The ultimate clash of Cursed Techniques and Zanpakutō.
Even the spectators began to grow uneasy, afraid Satoshi would suddenly announce it had all been a joke.
Because he was the type of person who really could do something like that.
Satoshi shot a glance at Kenshin, then turned and gave Shoko a reassuring look.
Then he smiled and said, "I don't intend to quit. Principal Sekiguchi, let's begin."
"In that case, let's get started," Sekiguchi Seiji said after a brief pause. He waved his hand and continued.
"With the entry of a third-party challenger, we've adjusted the rules for this year's event."
"This year's Goodwill Event is very simple. All of you will be teleported to your designated positions within the barrier according to your teams. What follows will be an unrestricted jujutsu battle. The last team remaining will be declared the winner."
"We'll monitor your every move through a live broadcast until the event concludes."
"Keep in mind, this is still an interschool event. Don't go too far. Good luck."
After finishing, Sekiguchi handed the three tokens to each team captain, then turned and walked away.
Satoshi and Suguru exchanged a glance as they examined the tokens, both visibly eager.
Soon, they would be able to use the tokens to activate the barrier and officially begin the battle.
"Satoshi, don't get cocky. I'm not losing to you this time. We're going to be the champions," Satoru said as he slipped the token into his pocket, flashing a confident smile.
"Sure. I'll be waiting," Satoshi replied, then turned and walked off.
"Suguru, Shoko, let's get ready," Satoru said, then led his team in the opposite direction.
Watching as Satoru and Satoshi both completely ignored Kyoto Jujutsu High, a chill flashed across Kamo Kenshin's eyes.
"I'll make you regret your arrogance."
He intended to use the imitation of the Inverted Spear of Heaven created by the Zenin clan to carve the name of Kyoto High and Kamo Kenshin into the bones of the Gojo brothers.
...
At that moment, in the spectator area, Gojo Kumaen and Gojo Shunichi had arrived early.
Kamo Shinji, father of Kamo Kenshin, was also present.
Not long after, Zenin Naobito from the Zenin clan stepped onto the platform in his wooden clogs.
All the current heads of the Big Three Sorcerer Families in the jujutsu world were now gathered.
Satoshi's participation had made this year's Goodwill Event even more explosive.
Beside an antique pearwood chair, several Gojo clan guards stood at attention.
Seated in the chair was the current acting patriarch of the Gojo family, Gojo Kumaen.
"Shunichi, what do you think of this year's event?" Kumaen asked slowly.
Shunichi glanced at the three teams below, his gaze lingering for a few seconds on Satoshi's slightly slender back.
"I feel like the winner will be either Satoru's team or Satoshi's team. But we can't underestimate the eldest heir of the Kamo clan either."
Kumaen said nothing more.
He raised his eyes toward the large display screen set up by the school, focusing on the section dedicated to Gojo Satoshi.
Inside, the young man was brushing snow off his sleeves with a white cloth, preparing for the upcoming battle.
"Satoshi isn't the kind of person who would make mistakes easily," Kumaen said, his tone calm and certain.
Other audience members also turned their eyes to the screen.
Just like during the entrance exam, the Goodwill Event was equipped with live-broadcast Cursed Skeletons for each team.
These could be used to monitor results and respond to emergencies in real-time.
Satoru's team remained silent. They were only waiting for the battle to begin.
The Kyoto team seemed to be discussing strategy, quietly communicating among themselves.
The atmosphere grew increasingly intense.
For a solo challenger like Satoshi, this battle was clearly unfair.
Jujutsu High's curriculum focused on group coordination. In battle, students supported one another.
That was the reason even three Grade 1 sorcerers could challenge a Special Grade sorcerer without being completely outclassed—because of team synergy and tactical execution.
Unless he was so strong that teammates would only drag him down, fighting solo would only increase Satoshi's risk of failure.
Some who heard these opinions only smiled faintly.
"It's hard to say. I still don't think Satoshi will go down that easily. He is Gojo Satoshi, after all."
But that view was quickly refuted.
"This isn't like destroying some cursed object like Sukuna's finger. This is a straightforward competition in jujutsu."
"Have you forgotten how terrifying the Gojo family's Limitless Technique is in actual combat?"
"If it's used properly, it's practically untouchable."
"Not to mention, Gojo Satoru has Geto Suguru by his side. The two have always been in perfect sync."
"You saw their teamwork during the entrance exam, didn't you? I doubt Satoshi can handle that kind of coordination alone."
"So if I had to bet... I'd side with Satoru's team."
